《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》Chapter 32

Before I knew it, we had reached Poni Island. The sun was setting over the ocean's horizon, making the scenery a beautiful deep gold. I froze in space for the moment, as I watched the shine brightly onto the ocean, causing the ocean to shine. I could hear music playing in the distance.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" My dad said, as I heard his footsteps join my side.
I looked over at him and smiled. I then turned my attention back to the ocean. "Yeah," I said. "It kind of makes me feel like I've been living under a rock my whole life." In my opinion, Kanto didn't have anything on Alola when it came to scenery. It kind of made me feel like I've been missing out. After all, I didn't live in the brightest and most happiest of places growing up.
"Now, why do you say that?" My dad asked.
I then looked back over at him in disbelief. "Um, do you not know where I grew up?" I asked, as I grabbed my sweatpants that had my home's name written down my leg.
My dad then nodded in understanding. "Yeah, I gotcha. I never understood why your mom chose a Pokemon graveyard of all places for you to grow up," He said. "But I guess I can't blame her too much."
"Hey, Lavender Town really isn't that bad." I said. Which is true, it wasn't that bad. During the daytime, it looked like any other city or town. But, at night.. That was a different story.
I was then interrupted by more footsteps behind me. "Man, I'm starving!" I heard Ash exclaim behind me.
I then turned around to face him. "You're always hungry," I said. "You have a bottomless pit for a stomach." I crossed my arms over my chest and I felt my eyebrow raise.
"Well, he's growing." My dad mentioned. "Come on, let's get to the Pokemon Center and get some food in everyone's systems." He said, as he hugged both of us.
I pulled away from my dad, as I walked down the dock slightly in front of him. It looked exactly like the one in Akala, except slightly bigger. Haunter and Froslass floated side by side with me. However, I noticed Froslass was looking around, as she looked paranoid. It caught me off guard, because I've never seen her act this way.
"Something wrong, Froslass?" I asked, as I stopped in my tracks to make sure she was okay.
Froslass continued to look around, as if she was seeing ghosts herself. She began shaking a little bit, and I could see fear in her yellow-blue eyes.
"Whoa, what's wrong with Froslass?" My dad asked, as he stopped right beside me.
I looked over at him in panic. "I don't know." I said. "She just started acting this way." My eyes then wandered over to Haunter, and I noticed he was looking around as well. But, he didn't look scared.
Froslass looked around some more, that same scared look in her eyes. My hands flew to what would have been her cheeks, as I tried to calm her down. "Froslass, it's okay." I said, as I got her to focus on me for the moment. Her eyes then began to wander away from mine. Could she see something I couldn't?

Suddenly, Froslass calmed down and seemingly went back to her normal self. She put her right hand over my left hand that was still on her right cheek. "Froslass." She smiled.
I breathed a sigh of relief. "Easy, girl." I said. I then reminded myself of what my mom would have done to get her to calm down. "Easy, girl." My mom's warm voice echoed in my head, as I recalled a time where my mom did the exact same thing I just did. I looked down, and sighed sadly.
"Okay, now that Froslass is okay, let's get to the Pokemon Center." My dad said. I joined his and Ash's side, and I noticed the rest of the class were walking up further with Olivia. I smiled at them.
Like Akala Island, the Pokemon Center wasn't far from the dock. The group of us walked in through the automatic doors, which was literally like someone had cloned the Pokemon Center in Akala, and put it right here on Poni. The Poni Island Nurse Joy then came around from behind her bright pink desk, with her Blissey and Comfey.
"Alola! Would you like to rest your Pokemon here?" She asked, happily.
"Alola, Nurse Joy. Actally no, we just need a few rooms. We're on a field trip!" My dad exclaimed happily.
It was like the events from earlier had repeated themselves, because this Nurse Joy acted and sounded like the same exact Nurse Joy in Akala. "Oh! Alola Professor Kukui! I assume one for the boys and one for the girls?" She asked, as she walked around to behind her desk.
"Yes." My dad replied.
"Well, I have two rooms available side by side with each other!" Nurse Joy exclaimed happily. She then looked at all of us and counted out the keys, and handed them to Blissey. "Blissey, will you please show them their rooms seems how they're side by side?" She asked.
"Blissey!" Blissey exclaimed happily, as it motioned for us to follow it down the hall way to the right.
We walked down the seemingly familiar hallway, and Blissey stopped midway, and handed each of us a key. "Blissey!" It exclaimed happily, and then walked away.
"Thanks, Blissey!" All of us exclaimed in unison.
Weirdly, these rooms didn't have a number. I thought that was kind of odd, but I didn't think much of it. The girls and I called the room and the left and the boys got the one on the right.
The girls and I walked into the room, to be met with almost the same layout as the room in Akala. I felt like I was walking into a parallel universe of sorts. I was amazed at how alike everything was. In Kanto, all of the Pokemon Centers were different. The only thing that was the same was the Joys.
"Wow! This room is exactly like the one in Akala!" Lillie exclaimed, as she sat her bag on the couch.
"I know right?" Lana said. "So spacious, like the ocean!" Her Popplio then danced around the room like before.

"And there's a kitchen! I can still make yummy meals for you all!" She exclaimed happily. Steenee agreed as well.
I smiled at the three of them. I was happy that they were happy. Now that I was physically here on Poni Island; I couldn't get my mother off of my mind. I was hoping and praying hard that I would be able to see her again; Just one more time. I walked over to the nearest window, and took a peak outside. The moon had now risen, and the stars were shining brightly like little bits and pieces of glitter in the sky. There were a few clouds, but it was beautiful. I smiled up at the moon, and closed my eyes. Oh mom.. please.. I thought.
"Hey, are you okay?" I heard Mallow's familiar girly voice behind me. I turned to my right to face her. I looked around, and noticed Lillie and Lana were nowhere in sight.
"Yeah.." I said, hesitantly. "Where's Lana and Lillie?" I asked, as I looked around.
"Oh, they went to the cafe. I think that's where everyone is meeting after we get settled in our rooms." Mallow said. "But hey, I actually wanted to say thank you for taking the time to talk to me earlier and showing me your text messages." She said, as I saw her blush a little. "It really helped me. Well, alot..." She said, hesitantly, as she put her hand behind her head.
I returned her smile. "Anytime. I just know how it feels.." I said, as I looked off to the side. My mind then slipped down the hole of what had happened that night. That night that changed my life forever. The next thing I knew, I felt tears falling down my face like a water fall.
"Emethyst!" Mallow exclaimed, as she saw my tears. She then hugged me tight, I guess on impulse. "What's wrong?" She asked.
I sobbed deeply, as I hugged her back. "What I'm about to tell you... Please don't let it leave this room, and for the love of Pokemon, please don't tell my dad!" I exclaimed, as I wiped my eyes. I was pretty sure my makeup was smeared at this point, but I didn't care.
"Please don't get mad at me," I began. "But the reason why I wanted to come to Poni Island was so I could see my mother again... Olivia and I talked, and well... She did this on purpose. For me." I said, as I wiped my eyes again. I now felt selfish in a way. I knew this had a big impact on Mallow, and I didn't want her to take it the wrong way.
Instead of losing it on me, "Emethyst, it's okay." She said, as she let go of me. She then smiled lightly. "I understand how you feel." She said, calmly.
"You.. you do?" I asked, in a little voice.
Mallow nodded in response. "Yes. I can't get mad at you for wanting to see your mother. No offense, but those texts you showed me were pretty.. well, brutal to say the least." She stammered, as she looked away.
I looked at the ground sadly, as I regretted everything within my being of what I texted her that night. I wish I could take it all back. If I get the chance to see her; I'll probably say I'm sorry about a thousand times. "I know," I said, finally. "I just want to make things right. All I want is a little closure." I said.
"And you deserve that, Emethyst." Mallow said, as she looked at me lovingly. I allowed a small smile back at her.
"T-thanks." I stammered.
"Anytime." She said. "So, are you about ready to head to the cafe?" She asked, as she blushed.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'll be right there," I said. I was pretty sure my makeup was smeared, and I didn't want to go out there looking like I was crazy. "I'm gonna shower first." I said.
Mallow smiled. "Okay, well I'll see you down there." She said, as she turned away and headed for the door.
I heard the door open and shut, and the room went quiet. I looked over at Froslass and Haunter, who were sound asleep on the couch. I couldn't blame them though, for we had a long journey today and bounced from island to island it felt like. I was a little tired myself.
I let out a sigh, and walked into the bathroom. I walked over to the shower, and turned on the water. The bathroom immediately filled up with steam, as I began to undress. I then tied my hair up seemed how I washed it this morning.
I took a look in the mirror that was beginning to fog a little, and did see that my makeup was indeed smeared from the crying spell I had earlier. Yikes. I thought. I was happy I decided to take a shower first.
I was completely undressed, as I took a step into the shower and closed the door. I then began to get an unsettling feeling as if I were being watched, and it was beginning to kind of creep me out. But, who could possibly be watching me? I was here alone, right? I shook it off the best I could, and continued to shower.
***
However... Little did Emethyst know, she was indeed being watched that whole time she was talking to Mallow.
But, who could it be?

Black Wind, White Lotus
In this world, there are haves and have nots. The former are pureblooded humans, some of whom are capable of manipulating qi, the mysterious energy that flows through every living creature, to miraculous results that defy the laws of nature and physics. Wen Feili was one such cultivator. However, she allied with the have nots- the anthropomorphic hybrids incapable of channeling qi-and dabbled in forbidden demonic arts, seeking to change the very composition of reality. This did not end well for her, and she was consumed by her own flames. A decade later, far in the northwestern mountains, her daughter Wen Fengli is working as a lowly servant of the minor Shuangshan sect. In between sweeping the floor and avoiding bullies, she secretly trains with a wooden sword, hoping to become a warrior cultivator at some point in the future. However, since she's part-human, part-wolf, it's just a pipe dream. ....or so she bitterly thought. However, one day a mysterious amulet that belonged to her mother falls into her hands. A deranged old master, a terrible conspiracy, a mysterious past? None of that matters to tomboyish wolfgirl, who only seeks to become stronger. She embarks on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, towards the mysterious southern lands where pure demi-humans are said to live...as spectre of war once again envelops the world of man. This is a Chinese-themed fantasy story set in a fictional world. You can classify it as xianxia, if you wish, but it's a rather low fantasy variant; the heavenly realm is silent, no one reached immortality in generations, and magical artifacts of old are locked away and feared. Magical beasts and spirits have been driven to the corners of civilisation, and "ordinary" abilities such as flying or controlling swords through telekinesis are considered spectacular feats. The main plot of this book revolves around a kemonomimi girl who seeks power, no matter the cost. This story also features multiple character pov, and will not always follow the perspective of the mc- there are two major plotlines, one connected to conspiracy and war ongoing in the political background of the presented world, and the other focusing on the main character's physical and metaphorical journey.
