《Pure Heart {EJ x Reader}》Chapter 7: Don't Take her

I walked 5ft behind Jack as the woods began to come alive with the coming darkness, consciousness shifting to my mother and all my stuff back at home. How am I going to explain this to my mother? Will she let me stay in the cabin or force me back home? This was all so confusing. I doubt that she even cares that I'm gone, probably didn't even notice I was gone yet. Taking a deep breath, I crumble at the idea of it. Now directing my focus on the sound of Jack's and my footsteps as the leaves crunched underneath our feet, filling my ears with satisfaction.
But then I noticed another set of footsteps coming from both sides of me, creating me to lift my head and stop. Checking our surroundings. I didn't see anyone but could sense someone's gaze focused on me.
"Jack," I announce, causing him to stop and turn to face me. Before he could say anything, a knife quickly flew right into Jack's shoulder. He winces but doesn't pull it out, seeing it made my stomach turn because of the blood dripping from the knife's blade. I went to him, attempting to help him but he held his hand out as a sign not to touch him. I glanced to where the knife was launched, a figure stands behind a tree just watching me. They began to emerge from the brush, all I did was stand in fear that they'd throw another knife but this time at myself.
"Hmm, Look what we got here." The voice appeared to be male but... not human-sounding. He shuffled into the light, providing me a better gander at him. He had short raven hair, black pants/ shirt, and very human-looking yet his voice said otherwise. I opened my mouth to talk but was cut off by Jack.

"Why are you here Blades? weren't you on a mission across the country." He uttered, more of stating the fact than asking a question. Jack walks closer to Blades, stepping right between the two of us. I glanced at Jack's frame, it was surprisingly relaxed and controlled. Blades cackles as he stares at Jack, I finally notice another knife within his fist.
"I was sent on an assassin mission from her mother-" He points his knife at me, my eyelids widen as I take a step backward in hysteria.
"She wants her pathetic daughter taken care of, so- I intend to do so~" He grins, chuckling while taking a step forward. Jack snarls and begins to extract a scalpel from his front pocket, arranging it into a combat position.
"OH~ Jacky do you care for this human... or, is it because you're hungry?" Blades lips still held that sickening grin as I gulped. Jack marches over to Blades and seizes his collar, heaving Blades towards him.
"You would know, wouldn't you? Why don't you volunteer as tribute?" His voice is violent and almost animalistic. Jack scared me, causing me to wince and shake in fear. Blades kept his smirk on his face, also keeping eye contact.
"Why don't I take your kidneys and kill the girl. Only one might make it, you choose~" At that, I abruptly feel someone grab me from behind, covering my mouth. I tried to fight back but the person was stronger.
"Oh! What timing. Thanks, Bloody Painter." Blades remarks while gazing back at us, Jack turned around as well. His mask went up slightly, showing he was disturbed. His body tensed while he let go of Blades shirt, not breaking his stare.
"Let her go B.P. and I won't have to kill you," Jack threatened Painter but he didn't release his grip. Only tightening it, ending with me wiggling my body to try and loosen his hold. Painter quickly drew out a knife and put it to my neck, I squirmed more as a tear streamed down my cheek. Jack just lingered in his spot, staring at me with a blank gaze. Then he suddenly breathed, looking down.

"What is the point of this, you have the girl, and yet you still press." Jack stated in a defeated tone, fists clenching around his scalpel. My eyes soften as my heart races, what was he doing? My mind races with different reasons for what's going on. I shook my head to get rid of the ideas. Blades stared at me, sauntering over, and grabbed my chin. Lifting my face to gaze at him, causing me to wince at his touch. It was raw and rigid, producing my body to shiver.
His eyes are blood-red with black freckles sprinkled into them, I could see Jack in the corner of my eye. He clenched his hands into fists. My attention was back onto Blades as he examined me, suddenly snapping his fingers. Bloody Painter pushed me forward and into Blades, I immediately pulled away from him and attempted fleeing but I was simply pulled back.
"No, No. You should know not to ignore people," Blades chimed while circling me, examining me, and making me uncomfortable as I sit on the ground helpless.
"S-Stop walking around me," I peered at him with an irritated grimace.
"Why should I?" He grasped my wrist, pulling me up to only through me back onto the ground. Blades tisked, putting his foot down onto my head, pressing me closer to the ground. I gasp as my nose hits a rock, causing it to bleed. Jack finally broke the silent groans in pain and cackles.
"(Y/N), when I say go, you run into the woods." What? what was he going to do? There was a swift ascent from my head next to some muscle being slashed. A sloshing sound and a scream making me gag in between the ruckus happening above me.
"Now." As I heard him growl the word, I got up and began sprinting ahead into the woods... not glancing back.
