Golden rays of sun hit his face. He woke up with a beautiful smile on his face. Since he going to meet his girl after two weeks. The thought of meeting her made him smile again. He reached Coimbatore the previous day. Because of travel he was tired and slept as soon as he reached his room. He headed towards washroom to get freshen up.
He came out, got ready in formals and once checked his reflection in mirror by setting his hair. His face carried a beautiful smile. At that time, he got a call from his mom. He attended and she asked him to take breakfast before leaving to office and she wished him all the best. He thanked her and ended the call with a smile.
He had his breakfast and reached his car in the parking lot. In next half an hour, he reached the office. There staffs welcomed him, he smiled at them as response and headed to his cabin. He waited for her impatiently.
Finally she reached the office and started working on the project without knowing about anything that happened there. One of her colleagues came to her seat and greeted her. She too greeted her back with smile. "How was your work going on?" She asked. "It's fine" Meera replied with smile.
"Our MD visited our office today" she said. "Oh! That's good" Meera replied with smile. "He asked me to inform you that he wants to meet you once you reach" she informed. "Okay. Let me meet him" Meera replied with a nod. She thought it might be Vishwanath and taking the project report she headed to his cabin.
"May I come in" she asked by knocking the cabin door. He felt a sudden flare of joy hearing her voice. "Yes" he replied in bold voice. She didn't recognize his voice, she went inside the cabin and was annoyed to find no one in the room. She was confused and was in her deep thoughts. She came back to conscious once she heard someone clearing their throat. She turned and was shocked to see him there. He stood there with a breathtaking smile, she just stared at him and suddenly the reality hit her mind, Pallavi's words echoed in her ears and she greeted him formally.

He expected that from her. She handed over the project summery and explained him her part in that. Nothing went into his head and throughout the discussion, he just admired her. But she didn't glance at him even once, she explained just by focusing on the report. She stood there without glancing him to know his comments.
"It's good Meera, go ahead" he said with smile. She didn't have any expression and just nodded at him. She was about to leave but he hold her hands. She was shocked but didn't turn to face him and protested to release her hand from his hold. "Angry?" He asked slowly. That's it, she turned towards him by coming out of his grip.
"Why should I?" She asked by looking straight into his eyes. "Oh! Then why are you behaving so formally" he asked by looking at her. "Look sir, you're my boss and I'm one of your employees. This is the relationship between us and a employee can't get angry on her boss" she said without any emotion in a rude tone.
"Please don't talk like this Meera. You're not just an employee" she cut him off by saying "Enough, I too seen my place in your heart. You gifted me that expensive Jewellery set and cleared my mind. Please keep this in your mind, I didn't help you in your parents reunion for those expensive jewellery, I just want Rajeswari mam to be happy in her life and that is the only reason" she said sternly by looking into his eye and left the place immediately ignoring him completely.
He stood there by looking at her direction. "Understand me Meera, if you opened the gift on that day then you might not talk like this Meera" he uttered those words in air. She reached her desk and tried to concentrate on her work but she couldn't. "Why God? Why it's happening only to me. I'm going away from him but again and again he is coming in front of me and making it more complicate for me to come out of his thoughts" she thought and wiped the tear before it reaches her cheek.

She shook her head in negative and forcefully involved herself in her work. Finally she succeeded and concentrated on her work without any other distractions.
Clock hits 1 and all her teammates left for lunch. She didn't noticed the time and resumed on her work. "Its lunch time, first have your lunch and then resume your work" there came a concerned voice. She stopped working but didn't glanced at him. "Now I'm not hungry, I'll go after an hour" she said without facing him. "Don't show your anger on food Meera, its not good to be with an empty stomach. So stop arguing and have your lunch" this time he said like an order.
"What do you want? I already told you that I'm just your employee and let's be in that limits. You can't go to all your employees and instruct them to have food at proper time. So don't disturb me too. Thank you so much for your concern and I know to take care of my health, now please leave this place" she said by controlling her tears without glancing him.
He left the place without uttering a word. He got a call from his mom. "Mom" his voice came like a whisper. "Kanna, What happened?" She asked sadly. "She is not ready even to talk with me mom, I don't know how to make her understand" he said sadly. "Don't worry Kanna, she can't forget you and she will understand you for sure. You should be patient and only you can make her understand. Speak with her Kanna" she consoled him. "Hmm" he hummed and ended the conversation.
When he returned, he found her place empty and relaxed that she finally went for lunch. He headed towards cafeteria and found her having her lunch. He sighed in relief and left the place. After lunch, she resumed her work and he spent his whole day by admiring her. Happiness glowed inside him despite of her rudeness.
"All these haters and pain will disappear in few days and only thing which will surround us is love, only love. That day is not so far Meera. This time our love will win for sure. No one can separate us after that" he thought in his mind by looking at her picture in his mobile where she was smiling like an angel. "I'll bring back this smile in your face forever Meera" he said this by looking at her present pale face.
Evening,
She finished her work and left the office around 6. She went to the bus stop, board the bus and sat in a window seat. The window seat always remained her about the days she daydream about her love life with him. But today her heart was too heavy and all those beautiful thoughts replaced by the bitter thoughts which occupied her mind.
First time when he started avoiding her, his words which killed her when she confessed her love to him, his ignorance, his hatter towards her, his sweet act, his words on his engagement and more over that Pallavi's words. All those things ate her mind and it ached like it's going to explode. She closed her eyes tightly to break all those bitter thoughts but in vain.
The bus reached her stop and she got down from the bus. She walked few distance and while crossing the park, her eyes glanced the places where they both used to chit chat and she felt those were the most beautiful days of her life. She went near the bench and seated on it by placing her head on one side, it relaxed her mind and she felt her head ache also getting reduced. She wished to stay there for another few minutes but opened her eyes immediately when she felt someone's presence near her.

Cornerstone (rough draft)
When a call goes out into the universe,a young man, down on his luck, decides to answer. Ripped from his old life and even his body, Jack Hearth must now decide what needs to be done to protect those he has claimed as his own. Not all is as it seems though. Those in power do not approve of his quest and will seek to bring ruin to his efforts. This is my very first work, so I ask for understanding should I make a mistake. This story is not on of those stories where the MC gains power and immediately decides to use it for violence. While those types of stories are fun, this isn't one of those. I will average betweern 1k-2k words per chapter for the foreseeable future. Please leave a comment below to let me know how I am doing. Stairway to Heaven
Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings, far too weak to survive amid the other extraterrestrials that lie dormant across the galaxies. Instead of physical altercations, they would rather engage in verbal abuse, breaking an individual's psyche as a hobby. They excel at deception and manipulation, far too interested in bringing their brothers and sisters down and reaching for the top of their self-made hierarchies. Beyond their questionable nature and moral compasses, they long to find meaning in their lives and put names to the feelings that drive each passing moment. They are insatiable—far too greedy for more knowledge and a supposed understanding of their lives. It's pitiable, really, the way they struggle to find themselves while ravaging their kind through petty wars and conflicts built off of misunderstanding. Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings. They created words and languages to fill the holes that lived inside their souls, desperate for ways to find meaning in their incredibly short lifespans. They'll waste their entire lives trying to find their so-called passions and reasons for living, acting as if they truly rule the way their lives go, supposed "controllers of their own destiny." Yet, they cannot evade the inevitable visit from death, who stands next to them, ticking the seconds down until their demise.
