Women's Correctional Facility
"I'm here to see Ivory Ali." Asahd said as he handed the lady him and Knowledge's ID.
"What's your relation to her?" The lady asked, with an obvious attitude.
"Husband. And this her son." He replied cooly.
The lady typed into her computer then handed him their ID's back.
"I see you come here often, so you know what's next. Step aside so I can help the next people in line."
Knowledge shook his head as he followed his father to the security checkpoint.
"I hate coming in this bitch.." Knowledge said low enough for his father to hear.
Asahd heard his son, he knew how Knowledge felt. He definitely regretted the life him and his wife created for Knowledge, but on the other hand he wasn't sorry for hustling to provide for him.
Once the two got through security, they were led into a private visitation room.
Knowledge instantly smiled when he saw his mom stand up.
"Hi papa," she smiled pulling him into a tight hug.
Due to the pandemic they hadn't seen each other in person as often as before COVID.
"Asahd" Ivory said as she pulled away from Knowledge, the women's face lit up as she saw hugged her husband.
"Wassup pretty girl." He said grabbing her chin and kissing her.
"Mane ewww." Knowledge scrunched up his face and took a seat at the table.
"Nigga shut yo ass up." Asahd said as he sat then pulled Ivory into his lap.
"How's school been baby?" Ivory asked smiling at her son.
Knowledge shrugged "It's the same, I'm ready to be done."
"And basketball?"
"Real good, I'm 'bout to start travel ball in a few weeks.. we wrapping up track." He told her.
"That's good baby..... any girls?"

Knowledge let out a laugh "Nah ma, I'm just chillin',"
"Lyin' ass." Ivory said with a laugh, "Mhm boy what about that lil girl, Amber? She real pretty and she seems sweet."
"How you know?" Knowledge scrunched up his face.
"Who Amber?" Asahd asked, making the same face as Knowledge. "And why I ain hear about her?"
Ivory laughed some more "They came into the restaurant the other day after a meet."
"Mama what? How you know all this?"
"Boy I'm a mom, I stay in the know." She smirked.
Knowledge sat back in his chair and eyed her.
"..... ya granny told me about her and sent a picture." Ivory ended up saying with a laugh.
"Y'all weird mama, I'm just getting to know her. I ain really looking for a relationship or nun like that."
"Hmmmm.. Asahd keep me updated on them."

"Look at the two nerdssss," Iman said as he came into Amber's room.
Knowledge chuckled as he slid off his glasses, the two were studying for their AP exams.
"Iman why you in here?" Amber huffed as she stood up to chase him out.
"Chill I'm bout to go out anyway."
Amber eyed him "Where you going?"
"Somewhere you not.. imma see y'all." He called out as he walked out the room and shut the door.
"I'm sorry about him," Amber said to Knowledge.
"It's straight, kinda make me want a sibling."
"You don't have any?" She asked in shock.
He shook his head "Nah my mama been in jail since I was three, and my daddy still wit my mama sooooo,"
"Wow since you was three?" Amber looked at him in shock, she couldn't imagine growing up with out her mom.

"Yea.. but wit her she still made shit happen for me."
Which was true, even though she'd been locked up for all of Knowledge's major milestones, somehow Ivory made him feel like she was still there for it all.
The two fell into a silence until Knowledge cleared his throat.
"You tryna take a break?" He asked as he shut his computer down.
Amber let out a breath and laughed "Yea ion think I can look at anything else tonight,"
Knowledge nodded in agreement as he rose out of her desk chair.
"C'mon." He said grabbing his keys.
Amber watched in confusion as Knowledge gathered his things and slid on his Yeezy slides.
"Boy watchu mean cMoN, where you tryna go?"
"Put yo shoes on."
"But-"
She cut herself off and decided to not argue with him since he wasn't paying her any mind.
"Mhm," Knowledge sounded as Amber slid on her crocs and grabbed a jacket.
Soon, the two found themselves on the road in his car.
"Soooo where we going?" She asked, watching him drive.
She watched his mouth move, but she was too busy staring at the side of his face.
"I thought it was gon be fun to do since you like it. You cool wit that?" He glanced at her, pulling her back into the conversation.
"Uhm." She nodded and looked forward.
He chuckled as he continued to drive.
"You can put some music on." He told her as he stopped at a light.
"I was about to ask..it was getting too quiet" she said giving him a small smile.
He placed his phone in her lap and glanced down as she typed his password in to unlock her.
Amber went through his playlists then smiled seeing that he had all of her favorite songs in one.
played as she rested his phone back down.
Amber sat in the car for an hour not knowing where they were going, since she didn't bother to pay attention the first time Knowledge told her. She just decided to trust him.
"You good?" He asked as he sped down the highway.
"Yea, you good?"
He chuckled "Yea."
A few more minutes into the drive, Amber found herself falling asleep.

"Wake yo ass up nigga." Knowledge said as he softly shook her.
Amber opened her eyes, then closed them again once a bright light came in to view.
"Where we at?" She asked, still half sleep.
"Open your eyes." He chuckled.
She sighed and opened her eyes to see Dwarf House on a building.
"Ouuuu come on." She cheesed as she slid her shoes on.
Knowledge chuckled as he turned the car off and followed her to the building.
The two did the mini museum tour then went to place their order.
After somewhat of a wait, they sat down with the food.
"It's good?" He asked as she sipped her milkshake.
"Yea, thank you for taking me here. This was cool." she smiled at him.
"Fasho ma," he nodded.
The two ate and talked for the next hour until they finished.
"It's bout time to go yall.." Knowledge yawned as he stood up and stretched.
Amber laughed and stood up as he grabbed his keys.
The two drove back to Savannah in a comfortable silence as Knowledge's playlist played the whole ride home.
"We here." Knowledge said as they pulled into her driveway.
"Thank you again for this Knowledge." Amber smiled as she leaned over to give him a hug.
"You're welcome," he said returning the hug.

The Unstoppable Ascension of Zu Mari, Time-Looper
Zu Mari will never be stopped! Zu Mari will ascend to the heavens! Zu Mari is a downtrodden cultivator without any hope of becoming powerful. OR SO HE THINKS! One day fate intervenes on his behalf to give him everything he'd ever dreamed of, ALL THE POWER HE SO RIGHTLY DESERVES! And then, finally, everything starts going his way. (Well... kind of.) [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] wooooo!! Let's do this! Just to clear up some misconceptions, this is not a parody and it is not a satire. Zu Mari does include over the top humor and exaggerations intended to amuse, but satire is a very specific thing which this is not. I certainly haven't read enough xianxia to properly satirize or parody them. It's just a silly project I'm writing for fun, with a meta story that makes me laugh. Expecting anything else will only end in disappointment.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.
