"𝐈 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐓, 𝐍𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐘/𝐍, in all the time that I've been here, I've never met anyone quite like you." The Handler told.
The three of them were walking outside of what looked like an observatory. Five was on The Handler's right, while Y/n was on the left.
"Hazel and Cha-Cha, for example, are talented certainly, but...they can't see the big picture." The Handler smiled and looked at Y/n but she just looked away.
They have been here before, but somehow, walking back to this place felt...strange and scary. Y/n was just looking around worriedly while Five was just planning everything in his head.
"The spunk, enterprising spirit, the both of you share..." She hugged the kids with her hands."...well, it reminds me a great deal of myself, if...I may be so vainglorious. If things work out for you two here, you two could make potentially great and fine successors."
Then all of them walked inside and stood in the middle. The Handler took off her coat and a worker instantly took it.
Since Y/n was very annoyed with her talking and wanted to get the hell out of this place, she spoke up.
"We'd like to discuss the logistics of our family safety at your earliest convenience." Then they all started to walk upstairs."As well, as these bodies replacements."
"Such chutzpah, Y/n. I really like that about you, about us, women." She tapped her shoulder while Five just stared jealously at that."It's refreshing, I'll admit. But slow down, Y/n and Five. All in good time. In fact, now that you've finally agreed to work with us, we've got all the time in the world."
The three of them walked into the huge building through the hallways and so many doors, it felt like they are never going to end. Everyone was also working hard with their assigned jobs. It looked like they never slacked.
"The commission works in support of a delicate balance between the timeline of events and mankind's free will." The Handler continued to explain while they walked past the briefcase room. Y/n and Five exchanged a glance that just meant that this was the place that they will go to later.
Five and Y/n looked at that briefcase room but The Handler interrupted."The briefcase is no longer part of your kit, guys. Free your mind. You two are management now. One of us."
They were on the next floor walking to their place. The Handler was pointing at talking everywhere. "All of the people on this floor are case managers, each one responsible for one major event at a time."
They stopped at a room where people were working lunged over their desks and typing. It felt like you could go through this room and never stop.
"So many of them." Five looked at everyone there.
"Impressive, isn't it? Being part of something...so grand." The Handler practically daydreamed.
Y/n and Five looked at each other once again. But The Handler noticed them right now."If you, Y/n, are nervous- don't be." She booped her nose."It is an honor working again with both of you. Come along."
She walked out of the doorway and Five and Y/n scurried up next to her."Whenever someone chooses the wrong path and the timeline is changed, the commission gets a report from field agents on the ground. These field agents' reports are sorted and assigned to a case manager. They determine if anyone needs to be..." The Handler, Five, and Y/n walked inside the tube room."...removed from the equation to assure that their event happens as it should."

When they walked inside the room, they saw a woman doing her job by delivering tubes with assignments.
"Based on that determination, the case manager sends instructions via pneumatic tube to...temporal assassins like you two formerly were." The Handler turned to the pair and looked at them."Any queries so far?"
Y/n had nothing to say, but Five had.
"Yeah." Five said and Y/n's attention was paid to him."Who was the case manager handling us?"
The Handler smiled."Ah. You mean the apocalypse." She brushed her fingers on Five's face causing Y/n to trigger a little bit. She never liked when The Handler was touchy, but she was only doing that because they were looking like kids.
Five looked into the tube room thinking how he is going to use that in their plan. Y/n also looked inside it but noticed Five's look.
"Let's go, I'll show you." She smiled and walked out.
Then Y/n grabbed Five's arm."What are you thinking about doing?" She whispered.
"We will use these rooms for our plan, but now let's go. We don't have time for this."He touched Y/n's hand by taking it off of his hand. She just looked down at him and when he walked out she followed him too.
Five was walking a little bit in the back while Y/n was walking near The Handler. "So, Y/n, how do you feel about this overall?"
"Well, this place is extraordinary, really. I am very interested in starting to work here, maybe get some more different experience." She fake smiled at the woman.
"I am very happy that you think that way. You were always amazing, I think that that you and I both know, that you will do perfectly with this position." She touched Y/n's face again as she did to Five.
They walked inside the huge room where they will be working. The Handler led them to a woman who was sitting at the desk.
"Five, Y/n, meet Dot."
"Oh, hi." Dot stopped working and looked at them waving and smiling.
"Dot is responsible for all apocalypse matters. In fact, it was Dot here who first flagged your appearance in 2019." The Handler put her hand on Dot's shoulder.
"No hard feelings."
"Well, you certainly put us through the ringer. Outsmarting two of our so-called best temporal assassins." Then she raised her tone higher."If that doesn't spell leadership material..." Everyone stopped typing and looked at them."...I just don't know." She chuckled.
Then everyone got back to their work and The Handler walked past the pair and to a desk. The desk looked like any other desk in the room, it just had two chairs.
"I suspect...you two like a challenge." She turned around and smiled. She pulled out two chairs and tapped on their back to signal to sit down."Which is why I've given you a particularly complex first case." She handed a folder to Five and Y/n and Y/n took it.
"It's too bad Joseph Spah decided against sabotaging the fuel tank. It would have been so much easier." She chuckled. She was referring to one of the survivors of The Hindenburg disaster.
Five and Y/n looked over the file scanning everything. Then they looked back up at her.
"Anyhoo..."She stood up because she was sitting on a desk." if you have any questions...I'll be right behind you." She pointed to the hallway.
Then Y/n closed the file and they both sat down. Everyone was looking at them weirdly. When the two best assassins in the history of the commission come back and they are working with you in management, it is something.

"You are not planing actually doing the job genuinely, correct?" Y/n asked as she read the file not taking her eyes off it.
"Absolutely. And you are with me." Five started typing.
"Is that a statement or a question?"
"Both."

𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐘/𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇 still working but their job was interrupted by Dot.
"Hiya, Five, Y/n. How's it going?"
"We must have utter silence in order to complete this task." Five quickly cut her off. Y/n wanted to say something but decided there is no point.
Dot just stammered at that."Oh, okay." Then Five and Y/n rolled their messages but Dot still tried to talk to them.
"Hey, a few of us are having lunch, and I was wondering if you..." But Five drastically opened a drawer and cleared his throat."...you two are doing something." She took the message and stopped talking.
Five opened the tube that he took out of the drawer and Y/n put in the message inside. He then twisted it up and Y/n closed the drawer. They both stood up and walked away with Dot saying "Bye!" in the back.
Then they headed for the room through the crowded hallways of the commission."Do you think that everything will go according to plan?" Y/n asked but they kept their glances forward not looking at one another.
"I don't know. But since we started this, we should try and see how long will this take us." He said as he opened the door and letting Y/n walk in first.
They carefully and quietly walked over to the pneumatic tube sending funnels but they were interrupted by the woman of their nightmares.
"I'm afraid that's not the procedure." The Handler leaned over to them and they looked back at her.
She took the tube from Five's hand and the two of them leaned to the funnels.
"Five, Y/n, meet Gloria." She pointed to an old woman who was walking away from her desk and towards them.
"Gloria is perhaps the single most vital cog in our machine." She continued to explain. Gloria just chuckled at her and smiled at the three of them.
"Gloria, this is Number Five and Y/n." She said as she opened the tube and took out the paper that was inside.
"Look at you two. Deadly little things."
Then The Handler gave the tube to Gloria while she kept the paper.
"So happy we decided to close the contract of your life." Gloria chuckled.
"I'm afraid the reputations you two have precedes you." The Handler touched Y/n's shoulder since she was closer to her and Five was standing next to Y/n on her left.
"And it looks like you're building on it here." Then she opened the paper."Oh. Karl Weber." She read the name and smiled at them."Now tell me, why unfortunate Karl?" She gave the paper back to Gloria and she put it inside the tube.
Five and Y/n exchanged glances and Y/n sighed. She was always the smart and mature one of the pair so Five wanted for her to explain. After all, she wanted to get out of this place sooner than anyone else.
"Karl Weber is the butcher at the shop where Captain Ernst A. Lehmann acquires his weekly roast." Y/n began explaining and looking at Gloria and The Handler."So, if Karl dies, his butcher shop is passed on to his son Otto, who...never washes his hands, which is disgusting."
"So he's the one who gives the captain his roast." The Handler added.
"And that gives him food poisoning." Five also interrupted but Y/n was happy since she didn't feel like explaining anything more.
"Which makes him late for work. Which delays the takeoff." The Handler smiled and pointed her finger in the air.
"And to make up for lost time, the Hindenburg flies through a weather front of high electrical charge and humidity." Five looked at The Handler and smiled fakely.
"And the static electricity inside the aircraft makes it a virtual tinderbox. Tiny engine sparks..." The Handler stopped because she wanted for Five to finish it.
"And just like that, we have..." He mimicked The Hidenburgh falling from the sky and exploding while making those explosion sounds and making a gesture with his hands.
Y/n just rolled her eyes at that and smiled a little bit. Five saw her smile and felt happy since she hasn't really smiled ever since they came back or ever since he...lied to her. Their eyes met together and they both smiled at one another.
"Is this real or acting?" Five thought to himself. The Handler and Gloria laughed together too and The Handler could not be anymore happier.
"All right, well, now follow me." She smiled at the pair and they followed her. When they walked out of the room, they headed back to the room where they were working.
"You two just keep surprising me more and more!" The Handler laughed while the kids walked beside her each on her sides. They just smiled at her awkwardly.
"I'm sure you've all heard that Mr. Five and Ms. Y/n have proven, to be adept with a pen as they were with swords." The Handler walked inside having her hands around the kid's shoulders.
She tapped their back and they headed back for their desk while she continued to talk."Let their effort serve as inspiration to you all."
While they both sat down, Herb was looking at them and daydreaming.
"Herb!" The Handler shouted and he flinched in surprise."How long have you been on the Lusitania?"
"Oh, ah...well, let's see, I, uh...I..." Herb just stammered.
"Sorry?"
"When I first started..."
"Sorry? I can't hear you. Still can't hear you." The Handler was messing around.
Then everybody heard the buzzer and went to lunch. The Handler talked to some other people, but Five and Y/n just eyed the people before Y/n closed a file. They waited for everyone to go out of the room.
Y/n stood up and took the file from Dot's table since The Handler mentioned that she was responsible for all apocalyptic measures. She tucked the file up her shirt.
"Ok, where do we go now?" Y/n asked looking around.
"Follow me." Five took her hand and they walked through the hallways again until they reacher the bathroom. Five opened the stall and let Y/n go inside first. He sat down on the toiled and Y/n pulled out the file.
She clutched down a bit and so Five took her on his lap. She looked around and thought about pushing away but she knew that they had to be quiet.
Five opened the file but there was only a smiley face. They heard the door open and both said "shit" in unison by looking at one another.
"So, how's your first day going?" The Handler walked into the bathroom.
Five looked at Y/n and she signaled to say something back."Couldn't be better." He said back as The Handler went into the stall beside them.
She dropped her huge skirt by sitting down on the toilet."Glad to hear it."
She then started peeing and coughing. Five and Y/n exchanged glances that said something like "what the fuck?".
"I burned my rugae. Ever burn your rugae? Rugae..." She kept peeing and talking. Then Five quietly stuffed the file up his sweater while Y/n continued to look disgusted.
"The ridges on the hard palate that help pass food to the esophagus. Anyway, I'm on liquid diet for two days, hence the marathon of urination. One faulty cog, and nothing works as it should." She started taking the toilet paper."You know, we value integrity at the office above all else. Trust is essential, and that trust is...built over time. But in the event of a breach, the commission will act swiftly and without mercy."
She walked out of her stall fixing her skirt."An efficiency I'm sure you two above all people can appreciate. I'm feeling peckish. Have you two had your lunch?" She asked walking to the sink to wash her hands.
Five looked at Y/n again and she signaled to say something back once again. Five sighed and replied."Not yet."
"Great. How would you like to lunch with me in my office? You can eat solid foods, and I can vicariously look..." She looked over at the pair through the little space at the top of the door."...at you."
Five and Y/n just awkwardly smiled."Sounds great." Five answered.
Then she smiled and walked out of the bathroom. Y/n stood up from Five's lap and opened the bathroom door. She started pacing around the room and Five looked at her.
"Ok, so what do we do now?" She asked looking at him worriedly.
"We will see, ok? But we will figure it out. Eventually."

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!
