"tokoyami!" the voice of midoriya shouted

the students of 1-A were in a sparring match

two students against one another

but the attention was directed on two in particular

midoriya was against tokoyami

the battle against the two was intense, both had been training intensely for the past days

which meant neither of them was ready to give up

but determination soon turned into frustration

as midoriya tried to land a finishing punch tokoyami swiftly dodged it at the last moment

but the punch soon landed on the floor below

and itself began to crumble

along with the two

both falling into a pit of rubble

(midoriya pov:)

as the dust finally began to settle and my body hit the floor I was soon back on my feet

we had fallen quite far

but the lights of the building still shone brightly

"midoriya!" I heard a voice from above, it sounded like Mr Aizawa's

but the noise kept bouncing around the walls

I couldn't even tell whereabouts it was coming from

but I thought I heard a rough cough close to my left

that's when I remembered I wasn't the only one that fell

"tokoyami!" I called running around to try and find the raven head

I climbed over a close-by mountain of rubble, hoping to find my friend

which is exactly what I did

"tokoyami!" I called over

"midoriya?" tokoyami asked in confusion

even though there was a big wall of brick and wood stopping us from joining together

we were both in clear view of one another

yet tokoyami continued to look around himself

I waved my arms around to try and grab his attention

he even looked directly at me yet but seemed to have failed to notice

"tokoyami?" I muttered in confusion

did something happen to his eyes?

but that's when I felt something wrap around my waist

sero's tape soon began to hoist us both out of the hole

(tokoyami's pov:)

I couldn't tell where midoriya's voice was coming from

the noise didn't bounce on the walls properly

I didn't think I would ever be caught in this position

I had always been so carefull

but here I was

and darkshadow refused to go out so it must have been too bright

I could feel myself start to panic,

this was so much worse than when darkshadow got out of control

because even when he was out of control

I could always count on him to protect me

a feeling around my waist broke me out of my panicked thoughts

and the adrenaline I felt told me I was now being raised into the air

I was being saved

but I knew it would only last a few moments

(normal pov:)

tokoyami and midoriya were soon back on the levelled higher floor and back with their classmates and teachers

"Are you two ok?" Ochaco asked worriedly, coming between the two

"We are fine, no need for concern" tokoyami responded bluntly

but midoriya didn't reply, instead, he continued to stare at the raven head

"midoriya" iida asked with concern

but the Broccoli haired boy continued to ignore them

"tokoyami?" midoriya asked as he came face to face with tokoyami

"yes?" the boy in question asked with confusion

"how many fingers am I holding ?" midoriya asked holding three of his fingers up

silence filled the room

"I...don't know" tokoyami slowly admitted

" can't you count? are you blind or what?" bakugo sarcastically asked, finding it hard to believe that a 15-year-old couldn't even count to three

"yes" tokoyami continued

"I am blind" tokoyami admitted sorrowfully

(a few moments later)

the students and their homeroom teacher were shocked by this revelation

they would have never guessed that tokoyami was blind

he was able to hide it well

he explained that he could read because he would summon darkshadow in his tiniest form to tell him what books or signs said due to their mental link

darkshadow even helped with feeling the vibrations coming from the ground and the air

"your head should have been a bat" kiminari joked when hearing this

he was instantly banished to his room

he then began to tell them that although he was blind he was able to make out slight images in his head to whoever or whatever people/things were around him

sometimes on a good day, he could see the outlines of peoples bodies

although tokoyami hardly had any trouble due to his disabilities

he was given some things to make his situation easier on him, such as giving him brail books so he could read for himself along with everyone telling the raven head exactly what they looked like

(some lying, like Minetta, saying he was 6 foot 7 with 12 abs, but soon came clean when bashed on the head)

although he didn't really need them to explain to him about what they looked like

his original thoughts were precisely identical
