the students of 1A were now tasked with one of the hardest challenges yet

getting their mind-controlled friend to recognise them before time was up

tokoyami had been taken by a group of villains when he was simply coming back from visiting his family

the bird heads power/quirk was becoming increasingly popular, making him quite valuable in the eyes of the villains

and now his power was being used for evil

his mind being fogged by the machine that was strapped onto his head, making everyone around him look like villains

and right now he was surrounded by his (invisible to him) friends

the students needed to find a way to pull tokoyami out of this state of confusion before the heroes would be forced to intervene, pulling the helmet off and possibly killing the bird head

due to the cybernetics being so close to the brain that if taken off by force it would possibly destroy the brain, killing tokoyami in the process

nobody wanted this, but tokoyami's unintentional acts of villainy had caused major destruction and almost killed innocent civilians, and was set to go off with a 500-mile radius bang when the bomb timer the villains equipped on the helmet went off

so the students needed to act quickly

if tokoyami was able to recognise them the helmet would deactivate without hurting the raven head and bring him back to reality

"tokoyami!" midoriya yelled

tokoyami faced where the green head yelled

but although he faced him, he saw nothing but a figure of twice, in fact, he was surrounded by numerous figures of twice

"afraid to face me alone villain?! I will not be intimidated" tokoyami declared with pride

darkshadow soon appearing out of the raven head, the quirk also being affected by the helmet

"we're not villains were your friends!" occacho cried as she and the others got into fighting stances

"lies!" tokoyami shouted as he directed darkshadow to the twice figures, making darkshadow wave his now growing claws to slash them away

kiminari and iida just barely getting out of the way

"operation "release the bird" is a go!" mina shouted

whilst tokoyami was confused by these random words, the other students nodded in agreement

Todoroki, bakugo, sero and asui instantly began running to tokoyami, finding an opening where no shadowy daemon wisp was blocking them from its master

while the raven was busy with the attacks from ayoma and Kirishima he didn't have time to process the 4 other figures like bullets that came running towards him, the impact being so powerful sent the raven tumbling to the ground

tokoyami tried to get back onto his feet but it seemed to be impossible with the "villains" pinning him to the ground, he couldn't even use darkshadow because the light of the fire was glowing too bright

(when did twice get a fire quirk?!) tokoyami thought with astonishment, but even though he was quite shocked he didn't give up the fight as he struggled against the binding wraps that were now on his arms and legs

"tokoyami you need to listen to us," Jiro said as she and the rest of the students started to crowd around the raven

since he was no longer a danger to them, himself or others

it was now deemed safe to start the convincing process

"I won't listen to a single word a miserable degenerate has to say" tokoyami uttered with a growl

although they knew their friend was being mind-controlled, his words still hurt

"But we're not, we're your friends and we can prove it!" shoji said calmly

but tokoyami simply continued to squirm

time for proof, although not through sight but memories

and each student had their own special moment with the raven

"Remember when we sorted through your gem collection? you gathered all the gems into your own nest and threatened anyone who dared to take a piece, you were like a fabulous mother bird protecting your glittering eggs" ayoma began

"Remember that time when we accidentally wore each other's shirts that day and we didn't notice until the day had ended, you were so embarrassed" mina continued

"I recall partnering up with you when studying the history of hero's, in the library we had gathered all the books on display about the topic, but we didn't acknowledge darkshadow secretly making a fort when we were finished the books, trapping us inside, It was the first time I had been in a fort, I truly enjoyed that experience together" Todoroki continued

"Remember when we were watching a movie together last winter and to keep me from hibernating you offered both your blanket and hoodie, you began getting cold yourself your feathers began to get floofy, it was so adorable ribbit" asui continued

"Remember when we went out to buy the dorm the food for the week before we paid for everything my stomach started to rumble, I didn't notice but you added a bar of chocolate to the shopping, you paid for it through your own money and refused when I offered to pay it, it was the most chivalrous thing anyone has ever done for me" uraraka continued

"do you recall the time where we got in an argument of which juice was superior" iida asked about to say that it was orange juice before being interrupted by the raven head

"apple" tokoyami muttered, earning a victorious smile from the students

tokoyami was shocked, how did twice know these special memories between him and his friends?

how long had he been spying on him?

but he didn't have time to ask when he was being bombarded with more memories

"Remember when going into the zoo and we both had to stop the staff from putting each other in the monkey exhibit and birdhouse, we were so angry but they gave us a lifetime supply of free ice cream coupons" ojiro began once again

"Remember when we were reading our books, your sacred scrolls and my comic book but I accidentally fell asleep, when I woke up I found my finger literally inside a plug socket, you said I could use a boost, it was the first time I heard you crack a joke" kiminari continued

"Remember when we went shoe shopping and you found crocks with spikes, you wore them as a joke but actually bought them because, even though you won't admit it, you like them" Kirishima continued

with each new memory, tokoyami found his mind become more and more...free like his brain was becoming lighter, and even found himself laughing in nostalgia

and these didn't go without notice, he stopped struggling as much

just a bit more to go

"Remember when we went to the park and the birds started following us, we started feeding them seeds that we brought with us and I accidentally tried to give some to you, although you laughed and said it was a simple mistake I couldn't stop saying sorry" koda continued (quietly but acknowledgeable)

"remember that time where you were training yourself so hard you forgot to eat? when I found out I literally baked all your favourite appley deserts, sat you down to a table and made sure you ate enough, although you went through a sugar high that when it was over you crashed straight onto the sofa with caramel still on your beak" sato continued

tokoyami was face was burning bright red through embarrassment now, along with his surrounding becoming fuzzy, splitting from one world to another

"remember after the tournament, you came to see me straight after and congratulate me on my techniques and skills, although you had won you made me feel like the winner, the first time I realised how humble you are and how much of a supportive friend you are" momo continued

"remember that time where we styled our hair..or feathers in your case the same as each other and confused everyone when our backs faced towards the different directions, it was the first time we pulled a prank together" sero continued

"Remember when we went to the arcade and we began to play guitar hero's, it went on for so long but the intensity never went, we even gathered a crowd, we refused to give up and we rocked out so hard that the machine broke" Jiro continued

"Remember that time when I tried to pat darkshadow but I accidentally patted you instead, you let out the most adorable bird coo before covering your beak in embarrassment, darkshadow was yelling at you for stealing his head pats while I hugged you until your face stopped turning red" toru continued

"remember-" Minetta began before being shut down with sellotape to the face, they were trying to help tokoyami with important and strong memories and they knew anything that came out of Minetta was going to be nothing like that and just gross, so they weren't taking any chances

they were so close

the bomb was going to explode in 10 minutes

the heroes were beginning to arrive

it was time for the ultimate memory punch

and there were only 3 last students that had yet to share their favourite memories with the raven head

"Remember when we were we had stayed up after partnering up on a school project, when we had finally finished we were completely exhausted, so much so that when I awoke I found you complexly asleep on my shoulders, your head resting on my head and your arms hugging my neck, I didn't want to wake you so I continued my day with you on my shoulders in a piggyback style, when you finally woke up you looked so confused and embarrassed, but even now you continue to rest your head on my head when giving chance cus you even admitted that my hair was like a nest" midoriya continued with a laugh

the red glasses of the helmet that was covering tokoyami's eyes were beginning to turn blue

the figures of twice were turning into the familiar shapes of his friends in tokoyami's vision

"Remember when we were walking back home from hot topic, we had just gone browsing when two random idiots came towards us, they tried taking pictures of us because of how we looked, darkshadow scared them off and broke their phones, sending them running, we both laughed but felt a bit uncomfortable after the encounter, to make us feel better we went back to the dorms and watched "woman in black" with double fudge ice cream, we made a promise that if anything like that ever happened again we would call each other as soon as possible so we could deal with it together" shoji continued

the heroes were starting to enter, bakugo was their last chance

but instead of saying his memory out loud like the others he simply whispered it to him, indicating to the others that they need to stop the hero's from coming closer before he was finished

"Please! we're almost there" the students begged

"We don't want to do this! but it will kill everyone including us in 5 minutes if we don't-" one of the heroes began before being interrupted

the helmet dropped to the floor, rolling to the left

leaving a gasping, teary-eyed tokoyami on the floor, still trapped due to the wraps

it was clear that tokoyami had been fighting, using the memories as weapons to regain control of himself

the helmet had shut down, no longer a threat but now evidence of the villains who had done this, a key piece into finding them and making them pay

meanwhile, tokoyami was, realised from the restraining wraps

but was now being wrapped in a group hug as everyone cried, the fear of losing their friend dying leaving their minds but the feeling of relief filled their bodies

throughout this experience, they realised just how important the raven head was to them, all the memories they shared

bakugo especially as he and tokoyami shared a private hug once they had returned to the dorms

"Remember when I came back after the incident of the forest, that night we found ourselves both unable to get to sleep because of what happened, we sat together to watch a stupid comedy while we commented on how fxxking bad it was, although we didn't talk about what was wrong with us, we both appreciated the company, it's then I realised that you were one of the good ones, I'll never forget how you helped me tokoyami, so fuxxing remember us so you can continue helping"
