Being a vigilante is a very tricky legal line to walk. Technically, no. It's not illegal to be a vigilante. however, doing almost any of the stuff that vigilantes do will get you arrested

this line was something tokoyami had to balance daily

he had worked hard, training every day to become a hero of the night

but sometimes the past comes back to bite you

as he sat on his bed reading his poems

a familiar number appearing on his phone

"what do you want?" tokoyami grumbled hoping to make the call short and quick

"Why so serious?" a happy creepy voice said on the other side

he recognised her voice

"what do you want toga?" tokoyami asked even more darkly

"Just wanted to see how you're doing, being a hero an all" she responded just as happily

"the truth" tokoyami commanded

"well ok then-" she began, he could sense her pouting on the other side

"I've captured your friends and homeroom teacher and holding them over a boiling toxic pool of acid and I'm challenging you to free them before time runs out" she stated

tokoyami had to hold in a gasp

"don't hurt them! Just tell me what you want" tokoyami said shakily

toga was instable, he knew it well

"I just want to have a moment back in memory lane, come here not as a hero...but as what you know you are deep inside" she answered

and before tokoyami could respond the call ended

a sudden beep from his phone told him where he needed to be

tokoyami sighed

he thought he had left this life behind him

toga waited happily as the group of struggling students and teachers were dangling over the tub of glowing green goop

"who was she on the phone to?" kiminari asked allowed

but with a slam of the door, that wasn't the only question on his mind

there stood a figure wearing a black and white coat that covered the majority of his body, the only parts that it didn't was covered in white gloves and a red plain mask with a white scar across it

"hahaha, the holy devil lives once more" toga giggled as she juggled her knives

the others simply staring at the new figure

at once toga and the named holy devil began to fight

the devilish angel throwing knives, bombs, and even shooting guns at the girl as she tried to stab the vigilante

the kicks and punches were effortless as the figure landed a blow so close to toga's head it slipped her into temporary unconsciousness

this was the figures chance to get the others free

he began cutting the rope and swiftly dropped the students and teacher away from the pool

they tried to ask the figure who they were or thanked him

but they didn't have a chance as he ran off with a coming to conscious toga on his back

once the holy devil deemed it safe, he threw toga to the ground with a grunt and took off his mask

"wowww, that was better than I remember" toga sighed in pleasure

"I thought we agreed these days were behind us toga, we made a deal!" tokoyami yelled as she sat up

"I know and I'm sorry fumi, it was just so boring" toga explained

but that just angered the holy devil bird more

"that's no excuse! I can't do acts like this, I'm going to be a lawful hero, not a bloodthirsty vigilante" he growled before taking a deep sigh

"We aren't children anymore, we don't have to result to illegal equipment, and we have quirks now, no longer very late bloomers" tokoyami explained lowly hoping to get it out of toga's head

"then why did you keep it then?" toga questioned pointing to the guns

tokoyami just stared at the gun, it was his only weapon of defence when he and toga were living on the streets

but he didn't need it anymore

he now had a home and friends

"I don't know...but I'm stopping it forever now" tokoyami declared as he threw the gun into the sky and summoned dark shadows claws to completely rip it apart, along with his costume

"and I suggest you do the same" tokoyami finished as he leapt off into the air

leaving toga alone and running off back to the league

tokoyami had entered his room through the window, trying his best not to alert anyone of his presence

only for there to be another figure in his room

Mr Aizawa simply staring at the shocked raven headed students

the two didn't say a word

the teacher began to walk towards tokoyami

the raven beginning to apologise and explain that he didn't want to resort to vigilantism

tokoyami was preparing for a stern talking to, yelling, even a beating saying that he was expelled from U.A

but what he wasn't expecting to happen was a reassuring hand to his shoulder

"holy angel...really?" Aizawa questioned with a sigh

tokoyami merely blushed, nodding

Aizawa shook his head but continued

"what you did could be called vigilantism, illegal " he began

tokoyami's heart stopped for a short moment

"but what you did, saving those you care about in the face of danger, that's the making of a true hero"
