Y/n's pov:
As soon as I heard the door unlock, I shot up from the couch and walked towards it as fast as my legs could carry me with my 8 month pregnant belly.
As the door opened and I saw Mat come inside, I was ready to give him the biggest hug ever, but he motioned for me to stop and dropped his luggage.
"I'm sorry love, but I don't want you to catch anything because I'm irresponsible. Wait for me here while I take a shower, I'll be down in a minute, okay?" he said while giving me a sad smile. As much as I wanted to hug and kiss him right now, I knew he was right.
"Okay. I'll be in the living room. I love you." I said and smiled back at him.
"I love you too." he said and then made his way into our bathroom.
Ten minutes later I heard him coming down the stairs, so I shot up from the couch for the second time that day and finally 'ran' into his arms. He opened his arms for me and we hugged as tight as we could with my belly in the way.
"I missed you so so much. Both of you." he whispered after few moments of silence. After we pulled away, he gave me a gentle kiss, the first one in a while, and put both of him hands on my, stomach, caressing it gently.
"We missed you too, baby." I said and looked at his face for a moment. "Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked and although I didn't say it, he knew exactly what I meant.

"No, no.. let's just.. be together, okay? I missed you so much, and right now I just want to take a break and spend some time with you. You and our daughter is all that matters right now." he said and tried to give me a smile, but I could say it was a fake one.
I knew how hard it was for him every time they got eliminated. But I decided it'd be the best if I just let it go, I couldn't change anything about it anyway and I learned earlier in my life to not get upset over things I can't change or have influence on.
"Okay. Is there anything I could do to make you feel better?" I asked, putting my hands on each side of his face and caressed his cheek.
"How about we lay down and you run your hand through my hair like you always do?" he looked at me with a pout on his lips.
I smiled at him then pecked his lips. "Of course baby. Come on." I said and took his hand to lead him towards the couch.
I sat down and he laid down and put his hand into my lap. I put on some show on the TV and started playing with his hair.
"I love you." I said, smiling down at him.
"I love you too." he said while closing his eyes.
"At least now you can finally shave off that beard."
"I thought you liked it!"

He wakes up outside the abandoned house, to a confused girl in front of him trying to get him back into his senses. This girl was wearing vintage clothing and had quite a distinct accent that Steven had never heard of before, except in movies and TV series. Looking around, he knew something was definitely wrong. The abandoned house looked newly built along with other old houses in the vicinity. Trying to understand the situation he's in with all the clues he has, he eventually asks the girl what year it currently was to confirm his speculations. To this, the girl replies with a serious tone, "1927." Steven doesn't know what to do with all this information. Will he be happy that he could know more about the dark past and possibly try preventing it? Will he be distressed in trying to figure out how to come back to his own time?
