《nhl imagines》andre burakovsky // colorado avalanche

the players were off limits. that's what your dad, the coach of the colorado avalanche, had always said. when you met andre, it was seeming to be more and more impossible.
you were looking for your dad when your clumsy ass decided to trip. you were ready to hit the floor, but you didn't. someone had caught you.
"easy there." an accented voice said, giggling. you looked up to see a smiling brunette boy that you hadn't seen before.
"sorry." you stuttered.
"no problem." he said letting you go. "i'm andre."
"y/n." you said shyly.
"pretty name." he said. you immediately turned red.
now you guys had been dating for a few months. hidden from your father, of course. he would make you break up with him pronto if he knew. sure you were 21, but that didn't stop your father from preventing stuff in your life. you were his baby and he didn't want to let that go, even if you were an adult.
since you were going to a university in denver, you stayed with your parents, which meant their house, their rules. if you wanted to hangout with andre, you either had to lie to them that you were going out with friends or wait till they were leaving the house for a while.
the only avalanche players you were allowed to hang out with was the golden line, gabe landeskog, mikko rantanen, and nathan mackinnon. this always puzzled you why they were the exception, but they were cool so you never asked. apparently, he trusted them the most with his beloved baby.
tonight your parents had left. gone to some sort of banquet for something you didn't know or particularly care about.
andre come over. my parents are gone and i want to cuddle

okay. i'll be over in 5.
"baby burky." you said excitedly as he walked in. he gave you a hug and swayed you around.
"i missed you." he said.
"so did i." you said.
just your luck.
as soon as your lips touched his, your suit clad father walked in,
"i forgot my wal- Y/N." he yelled in a stern voice.
you and andre jumped back from each other. he looked at andre.
"out." he said calmly, but you could tell he meant business. andre looked at you. you signaled at him to leave knowing that you were in big trouble and didn't want him to be a part of it.
"now, you." he pointed at you, "we'll talk about this later." he grabbed his wallet that was sitting on the counter and stormed out of the house. you put your head down on the counter, dreading what was going to happen later.
you were right. it ended in a lot of tears. he made you break up with andre. you let out a sob as you texted him your forced break up. you couldn't bare his answer so you blocked him quickly. you sat in bed with tears running down your face. you stopped crying knowing nothing, not even the waterfall coming out of your eyes, was going to change your father's mind.
everything reminded you of andre, the stuffed animal he got you, all the pictures scattered around the room that your dad had never noticed, his shirts and hoodies that you had and slept in. the clothing was the worst because his scent lingered. you just wanted to see him giggling and smiling again.
it had been weeks since your breakup with andre. you didn't come out of your room unless it was for university or a quick run to get food. you never thought that boy could destroy you that much. you couldn't bare to go anywhere where the avalanche was. anytime you saw your father, it left a sour feeling in your body. he destroyed the relationship with the boy you loved in a matter of 5 minutes.

you heard a soft knock on your bedroom door.
"y/n. it's me." your dad's voice called out. you sighed.
"i have something for you." he said. he opened the door. from your position on the floor, you could see a tall figure with brown curly hair.
"andre?" you stood up quickly. he nodded.
"i saw the nasty looks y/n and how sad you've been. i realized i shouldn't be manipulating your life so here he is. he was equally as miserable. just know now i approve of this. you guys look really nice together." your dad spoke and smiled, "treat her right andre. she's my baby."
andre nodded. your dad walked away.
"i missed you so much y/n/n." he whispered.
"i missed you too burky."
he kissed you and laughed,
"i missed that too." he said.
"promise you'll never leave me."
"i promise. forever and ever."
