"oh god." you stuttered quietly as you looked at the two lines in front of you.
positive.
you placed your hand over your mouth to muffle soft sobs.
you had missed your period and had been feeling pretty sick so you decided to take a pregnancy test.
you and sammy were pretty excited when the blues won the cup. obviously a little too excited.
you sat in the bathroom staring into the white stick hoping for it to change to only one line. thoughts ran through your head faster than you could process them logically;
am i ready for this?
is sammy ready for this?
will it hurt his career?
is he going to leave me?
thoughts that you couldn't shake off; the last one being the scariest. you couldn't think straight.
"y/n i'm home!" you heard sammy's voice echo through the house.
you panicked and tossed the positive pregnancy test into a drawer sammy practically would never touch or go into.
you walked out of the bathroom into the living room where sammy was taking off his shoes.
"hi." he said happily.
he grabbed you into a warm hug.
"are you okay? you look upset. what's wrong?" he asked frantically.
"no sammy, i'm alright." you fake smiled towards him.
he nodded skeptically, "do you want to watch a movie or something?"
you nodded.
he looked into your eyes and sighed. he was sad that you were sad. he wanted to know what was wrong.
you followed him towards the sofa where you sat down close to him.
"what do you want to watch love?" he asked.
"i don't know sam. what do you want to watch?"
both of you decided on watching lion king after some negotiations.
as the movie started, sammy placed his hand on your back so he could rub it. you leaned into his shoulder.

sadly, you weren't too focused on the good movie in front of you. you were still thinking about the test sitting in the bathroom drawer. you know you couldn't keep it from him forever, but you never wanted to tell him because you were terrified. sammy was the light of your life and to think that you could lose him was hell.
"sorry honey buns, but i have to go pee." sammy whispered, gently moving your head off his shoulder.
your anxiety peaked automatically. you knew there was a 1 in a million chance that he would open that drawer. it was so unlikely yet you were still tense about it.
"y/n?" sammy called out.
you could already feel the tears threatening to spill out of your eyes as you got up to go by sammy.
you walked by the door still hopeful he only needed something.
you were destroyed when you walked into the bathroom to see him staring into the white test.
"y/n, honey. are you pregnant?" he asked looking straight into your eyes.
you nodded, the tears falling rapidly out of your eyes. a sob escaped your lips and you collapsed onto the floor in stress.
sammy picked you up off the floor and placed you on the bathroom counter so you could be at eye level with him. you looking down at his feet as you cried.
he picked your face up, "why are you crying?"
"sam, this is going to destroy your future career and and i can't raise a baby at 22 by myself. i won't be a good enough mom." you rambled on, barely being understandable because of the crying going along with it, "you can leave if you want samuel."
sammy listened to it all intently. he rubbed his hand up and down your arm.

"my love, i will never leave you. i'm so excited that you are pregnant. you know i wanted kids. y/n, you will be the greatest mother ever. i've seen you with your little siblings and cousins, it's adorable. if you're worried about me being gone so often i'm sure the WAGS will assist you. i'll be home all summer and sometimes during the season and i'll help as much as i possibly can." he smiled through all his words.
"sammy..." you said unsurely.
"i'm 110% positive we can do this. because i love you so much." he spoke.
he kissed you, "we can do anything when we're together."
you smiled genuinely for the first time tonight.
"i love you so much sammy. thank you for being here." you whispered.
"i love you too. i'm always here for you and now little baby blais." he cooed.
you laughed at him.
"i'm so excited!" sammy jumped around, "we are going to have a little sammy or a little y/n."
"not for another few months you won't." you said.
"i know, but i'm already so happy. we need to start picking out names."
"oh my samuel. we still have so long. calm down. i'm not giving birth tomorrow." you chuckled, "boy or girl sammy?"
"i choose a healthy baby."
you awed at his comment.
"i just want a healthy little baby so i can squeeze those chubby cheeks."
"that's all i want to." you hugged sammy.
sammy kissed your forehead and hugged you back.
"i love you samuel."
"i love you too y/n."

The American Dream: An Alternate, Time-Travel Timeline
Due to a mysterious transcendent being, United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Samuel Kim from the year 2016 is thrown back in time to the year 1775. To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Realizing the unique situation he finds himself in, the lieutenant takes the opportunity to change the fate of the battle and ensure an overwhelming American victory. Guided by his "patronizing" "God" and the American revolutionaries, Lieutenant Kim embarks on a journey to help America gain its independence and to ensure the nation uphold its "most promising" ideals from the very beginning. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.

Series – Dice rolls, quests, and intriguing characters are only the tip of the spear. The Adventurer series includes playable game mechanics, maps, and more! Thrust into a world governed by tabletop RPG rules, Cire must survive an onslaught of wondrous and horrific challenges. His peculiar race, charismatic personality, and talent for turning negative situations sideways might just be the tools he needs to achieve his goals, or they may lead to his ruin. Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.
