"come on boys!" you yelled through the tunnel as you bounced from foot to foot.
you smiled when you saw your brother philippe myers walked towards you.
you two did your handshake together.
"hyping up the boys there nina?" he asked.
"always." you chuckled, "that's my job."
philippe rolled his eyes and smacked her shin pads with his stick
you guys went out onto the ice to play the los angeles kings.
you were excited to get back on the ice after the little break that the team had. now you were on a big west coast road trip.
when you were on the ice for a shift, you were nailed into the boards. you were in no way expecting that big of a hit.
you groaned as you hit the ice. you felt a body fall on top of you, right into your chest.
"get off of me!" you exclaimed.
"um im so sorry. i didn't realize i was on..." he motions to your chest.
adrian kempe was the man that was on top of you. you could tell he was very flustered from
falling on top of you. he scrambled off of your body and skated off.
you chuckled and skated to the bench. you thought he was cute to be so flustered after the hit.
during a tv timeout, adrian came over to you and apologized again.
"hey it's okay. just don't do it again." you said with a wink.
adrian blushed and skated back towards his bench to rejoin the little meeting his coach was having with the players.
"you interested in kempe?" philippe asked you in the huddle.
you shrugged, "he was just really flustered cause he fell right on top of me." you chuckled.

the game ended with a flyers win and you were determined to go find kempe.
you ran into him on the way out of the arena.
"hey i'm nina." you smiled.
adrian blushed, "um i'm adrian." he said timidly.
"i think you're really cute and i was wondering if you were interested in going on a date tonight?" you asked bravely.
he nodded, "yeah sure." he said with a subtle smile.
adrian handed you his phone and you typed your number into it.
"text me a place and time to meet and i'll be there. i really don't know where anything is here so you can pick." you chuckled and waved as you walked off.
"did you just ask him on a date?" philippe asked.
you nodded, "yep." you said and popped the p.
"you're so weird." philippe laughed.
"aw thank you brother." you said sarcastically and hugged him.
he shook you off of him and made a disgusted noise.
you hit him on the arm.
"hey myers, stop arguing and get on the bus." tk yelled from the bus door with a smile.
you both rolled your eyes and climbed onto the bus.
you got a text on your phone and you could tell it was adrian.
unknown: bella's café at 9:30 :)
you smiled at the text and sent him a quick response.
at around 9:30, adrian picked you up at the hotel and drove to the little café.
"i love it here. it's always so quiet and there's lots of dessert." adrian chuckled and looked at you.
"sounds good to me then. i love that last part." you smiled.
both of you went into the café and got a table that was pretty secluded from the rest.

there was just two more tables that were occupied in the entire restaurant.
"you were right. it is pretty quiet." you said as you looked at the serene surroundings, "it's nice here."
"i'm glad you like it." adrian smiled.
you began to talk about everything and anything that came into mind, no matter how random it was.
once adrian stopped being so timid, he was actually very fun to be around. he was funny, sweet, and kind.
he would blush every once in a while if you'd give him little compliments or flirty comments, but you thought it was utterly adorable.
at the end of the night, you really didn't want it to end. you really liked him and wanted to spend more time getting to know him.
"i don't want to leave." adrian said, apparently reading your mind.
"neither do i." you said a bit upset.
"off-season is coming up. um do you want to hang out then sometime?" he asked, "i really like you. i think you're beautiful and funny."
your cheeks flushed and you nodded, "yeah that would be really great." you said.
you kissed his cheek sweetly as you arrived back at your hotel.
"i'll see you soon."

Hi there, my name is Jason Corvus, you can call me Raven. My parents really (like a lot) wanted to have a boy, so when they found out that I was a girl, they still put me a boyish name. When my father was alive he always wanted to go to Tyndall Quantic Soren high school, but to the common people it was known as an elite school, but in reality, it is a school for those who are more than simple humans. This time things seem more complicated than before, and I have no idea how long this time will last.

Eliot Ness for Mayor
An everyman tests his mettle when a Voodoo god, in the guise of a kindly crackpot, thrusts him back in time and into a violent riot. Ironworker Frank O'Brien digs his life: great wife, tight family, and a job he loves, raising skyscrapers for a firm whose owner he respects. Smooth going until his boss, the owner's grandson, stirs racial and labor tensions. Soon, Frank's fighting the good fight, and standing tall seems to work. He even manages a few allies until a Voodoo god mucks up the works, knocking Frank back to 1966 and into the center of Cleveland's Hough riots to test his mettle. Needless to say, getting back to see his little girl's youth orchestra recital's gonna be a bitch. ELIOT NESS FOR MAYOR is a short novel of magical-realist fiction, a stand-alone book in the Shantytown Cycle. Written for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), I will be posting revisions as I complete them and should be done by early 2022, though I am making major changes so the timing may be longer. This book is cross-posted on two websites: Wattpad and Royal Road. Both are reputable, high-quality sites. Do not trust this book on other websites. They "scrape" material from reputable sites, posting the stolen material as an original to lure users in, but contain links that include malicious code.
