pierre-luc watched you come home extremely tired everyday. he hated that you were so exasperated, but at the same time was so proud of you.

you were a frontline worker that was in the fight of the pandemic. there were so many things that changed when you started to work in the covid ward. your hours became longer and before you could even say hi to pierre at night, you had to make sure you didn't get him sick.

pierre had done everything he could to make your life as easy as possible when you came home from your crazy long shifts. he still felt like he was not doing enough when you felt that pierre was doing more than enough because you were not the only one with a very busy schedule.

"hey, do you think i could have marisa be frontline worker of the day next game?"

pierre-luc asked who was in charge of putting together those presentations.

everyone agreed and pierre sent over some pictures of you so they could be shown at the next jets game that you would be attending.

pierre and the organization got you strategically placed seat tickets because pierre had a large surprise for you coming at this game.

pierre-luc also made a short video to show his appreciation along with getting a few of his teammates to do the same like usual.

you were genuinely excited to be able to watch pierre play some hockey for the first time in a while. you were even lucky to have had this day off.

you sat next to some of the other wags who went to the game. you talked to them and caught up with everything you had missed while being swamped at the hospital.

"it is time for our frontline worker of the game, marisa dubois."

you looked at the rest of the wags you were sitting with and they all had huge smiles on their faces.

it was not only the whole thing that had you surprised, it was also the fact that they had just called you marisa dubois.

the whole presentation went through and you would be lying if you said that the presentation did not make you tear up a little. it was sweet to be able to see that people were so appreciative of what you were doing.

you saw that pierre skated over to the entrance of the tunnel where you were sitting and stepped off the ice next to you.

you smiled gently when you saw that he had a microphone in his hand.

pierre took your hand and began his speech.

"my girlfriend marisa comes home tired every night from long shifts at the hospital, but still makes time for me and all her loved ones. i am so proud to be in her life because she is a superhero and i love her very much. seeing her be so strong makes me even more proud to be able to be her boyfriend. with that being said, i want to make girlfriend something a little different."

and in all his hockey gear, pierre-luc got onto one knee and pulled out a ring, "marisa, will you marry me?"

you could not help but laugh at the situation you were in before nodding, "yeah, yes i will."

pierre stood up quickly and hugged you as hard as he could.

"i love you so much." he whispered.

"i love you too." you responded, "i was wondering why they said marisa dubois."

pierre laughed, "that was my doing because i knew you were going to be a dubois sometime."

"that's what i thought. it's always you pierre."
