《Good For Gone》Ceiling

Later that night I couldn't sleep. My rash was itchy and my conversation with Ivan was swirling around in my mind.
And the idea of him snooping around my past and going so far as to coerce my old best friend just to get to me was too much.
I looked over at Peter, who's black eyes were wandering lazily around the room. The demon hadn't talked to me in so long, I almost wondered of it even could anymore.
For a while there it talked way to much, annoyingly slow. But now all it did was stare, every night. It never came out during the day, only while the real Peter was sleeping I guess.
I wished he would do something, interact qith me somehow so I didn't feel so alone with my thoughts. They were building up so much that I could barely keep them all inside my mind anymore.
So after a few rounds of trying to convince myself, I turned over on the mattress to face Randall.
His eyes were blacked out, staring at the ceiling blankly. But the second I shifted they were focused on me.
"Yes?" He asked.
I settled back down on the bed, feeling a sense of relief at being able to lay on that side for once.
"Why don't you just kill me?"
"Because that would be pointless." He said dismissively.
"What you're doing now is pointless."
"I never do things for no reason."
"Well, why are you doing this to me then? Is it just to make me miserable for the rest of my life because you had that covered way before the creepy rash."
He inhaled deeply and said, "Is it really necessary to talk about this now?"
"Yes."
He rubbed his face, groaned loudly and then pulled himself into a seated position before flipping the lamp on.

"I have things to do in the morning you know."
I sat up too, "You'll be fine."
I caught a glimpse of Peter, who's eyes were focused on us intensely.
"So what are you so keen on knowing?" He rubbed his eyelids roughly.
"Why are you doing this?" I held out a grey scabby arm, "I'm tired of just going along with it. If you're doing something to me I have the right to know."
"Even if you can't fix it?" He raised a curious eyebrow.
"Of course."
"Fine," he said, "If you really must know, you could say I'm doing it for love."
