"Chanie I can't believe I let you convince me into coming here tonight." I said to my best friend Chanel as we entered the club.
She waved me off. "Girl bye, you knew you wanted to come out with me."
"Wow it's real busy in here." I said looking at the large crowd in front of us.
"Well it is a Friday."
"True but look around, it's way too much people."
She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the crowd. "Come on let's go dance I love this song."
We was dancing to my new favourite song Bad & Boujee until the DJ fucked around and changed the song to some slow shit. The next thing I knew the floor was filled with couples.
"Excuse me ladies." A guy said to us.
"You're excused." Chanel replied rolling her eyes making him chuckle to himself. "You got attitude huh?" She nodding popping her gum in his face.
"Well I noticed you walk in and I was wondering if you wanted to dance with me."
"Sorry but-" I stepped in stopping her from turning him away. "It's okay go, I'm fine here." She shook her head. "No I'm not leaving you."
"Chanel go, have fun. I'm gonna go over and sit at the bar for a little bit anyway I should have never wore these shoes." I told her with a smile on my face.
"Alright, if you need anything call me." She kissed my check before grabbing the guys hand and following him to the dance floor.
Once she left I made my way over to the bar. "Hi, can I get a Coke with ice?" He nodded and handed me the Glass , I began reaching in my purse when he spoke up.
"That will be $12". I frowned looking between him and the Glass. "What $12? Are you sure?"
"Yes ma'am." I sighed and pulled out the money. "Fine whatever here."
I was sat zooming to the music in my own little world until the bar man came over to me with a cocktail in his hand. "This is for you."
I shook my head and started to correct him. "Oh I didn't order-"
"My boss got it for you." He said.
"Your boss?" I cringed at the thought of the owner of the club watching me. I imagine he was probably a white, 50 something year old man, married with kids and shit. So the thought of a guy like that taking an interest in me made me feel funny.
"Thanks. But tell your boss I'm not interested." I said turning my nose up at the glass pushing it away.
He nodded and walked around the bar, I watched as he picked up the phone hanging from the wall and pressed 1.
Shortly after he said a few words before making his way back over to my side of the bar.
"He said he would like to invite you up to VIP, it's up there."
"Nah he's good. I'm not interested." I repeated.
Again he nodded and returned back over to the phone.
"Excuse me, sorry to interrupt but-" I rolled my eyes as someone tapped my shoulder and began speaking.

I spun around on my chair to face him. "Look let me save you some time. You're probably here to tell me you noticed me from across the room and just had to come over and say something well you sir are out of luck because your not my type if you get where I'm going with this."
"But-" I held up my hand cutting him off. "Please don't beg... Look that's my girlfriend." I lied pointing at Chanel as she approached us.
He chuckled shaking his head. "Yeah right." He mumbled.
"You don't believe me?"
"Chanel."
"Wassup." She replied standing in between my legs. "This guy don't believe you're my girl." I told her.
She smirked and looked back at him. "Really?"
"Yeah."
She giggled before turning her attention back to me. "Well then let's give him something to believe."
She grabbed my face and began kissing me slowly until we heard the guy speak up. "I'm sorry I'll leave you alone."
-
"Boss I tried talking to her but-"
"I saw. She played gay." I said but Tez shook his head telling me no. "Nah sir the way they was kissing ion think that was acting."
I walked back over to the balcony and looked down at her laughing and dancing playfully with her friend.
I waited for her to leave before I decided to make my way down to her.
"Make sure everything's good up here, I need you to close the club later too."
"Why? Where are you going?" Tez asked.
"Handle some shit." He nodded.
I made my way down the gold spiral staircase until I reached the ground floor. It was packed so it took me a minute to find her but when I did I wasted no time making my move.
"I see you're over here wasting my money." I said making her jump and turn around so she was facing me.
"And you are?" She asked rudely rolling her eyes.
I ignored her question and my eyes landed on her untouched drink. "Are you not gonna say thank you for the drink I brought you?"
She frowned in confusion until she realised. "You?"
I nodded and held my hand out to her. "Jayceon but I go by Jace."
She stared blankly at my hand not saying anything. I chuckled and asked her, her name only to be ignored.
Again she rolled her eyes but this time she turned away from me. I tapped her shoulder softly. "Excuse me. You don't hear me talking to you?"
"Don't touch me." She snapped. I sat next to her and looked into her eyes.
"Why did you lie?" She squinted looking at me like I was crazy. "Lie about what? What are you talking about?"
"Well I sent my friend down here to get you up in VIP but you wanted to go all gay on him." I said pointing up to my VIP booth. "I wasn't lying that's my girlfriend."
I laughed to myself and pointed at her friend. "Then why is she over there dancing with that guy?"
She shrugged. "Okay I'm not gay but that doesn't change anything I'm not interested especially now I've met you in person."

She took a sip of her drink before finishing what she had to say.
"You look young so I'm assuming you grew up in the hills with a silver spoon in ya mouth, had everything handed to you including this club, which is whack by the way."
"Your DJ is trash, the place looks and smells a mess. If you turned on the lights I would be surprised to see rats running across the floors."
"Yo Ma, your mouth is gonna get you in trouble." I said flicking her bottom lip softly and of course she slapped me away.
"With who? Definitely not you!"
She stood up like she was gonna swayed up with me.
"Now thanks for the drink but as I told your bar man and little friend I'm not interested." She said and started walking away.
I grabbed her arm pulling her back causing her to come crashing into my chest. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Leave me alone. You know this is like harrassment I could called the police on you."
"It's not harrassment if you like the attention." I winked. "Since you didn't let me take you up to VIP, can I at least show you around?"
"What for?"
"So we can get to know each other better considering we're gonna be together soon."
She laughed whilst shaking her head. "Says who?" I pointed at myself.
"You're crazy... But I like crazy so I guess you can show me around. I have to tell my friend first." I nodded and let go of her arm allowing her to go find her friend.
She returned a few minutes later.
"Ready?" I grabbed her hand and led her through the club towards my office.
"This my office."
-
"Hello?" I said answering my phone.
"Bitch you just now waking up?!" Chanel yelled. "I've called you like 10 times! Where are you?"
I looked around quickly to remind myself where I actually was. "At the club."
"At the club where?. I was the last to leave looking for your ass I was 5 seconds away from calling the police if you didn't answer this call."
I smiled as she went on about last night until I heard footsteps on the other side of the door.
"Chanel I'll call you back, love you." I whispered. I hung up and placed my phone back on the floor and closed my eyes pretending to be asleep.
"Get up." I continued to play sleep until I felt something cold between my thighs.
My eyes flew open when I heard a click.
"What the fuck!" I screamed kicking him away.
"I told your little ass to get up" he said calmly.
"You're fuxking psycho-" I cut myself off and looked at the gun in his hands.
"I bet there weren't no bullets in there anyway."
He smiled and let all the bullets fall out. My eyes widened and I swallowed hard. "You got the safety on." He handed me the gun and there I saw it wasn't on, meaning he had just placed a loaded gun between my legs.
I began to panic. "No no no," I looked over at him shaking my head. "We fucked?" I mumbled.
"Try walking and see." He said winking. I rolled my eyes and pulled the sheets off of my body. "You're so cocky."
"Can you pass me my dress please?"
He picked it up from the floor and roughly threw it at my face.
"I said pass! Not throw."
"Shut up. You talk too much."
"You won't have to hear me talk again because I'm leaving." I picked my phone up and stood up. As soon as my weight was on my feet I fell to the ground. "Shit."
"I thought you were leaving?" He asked looking down at me.
"Be quiet." I mumbled.
He shrugged. "If you need my help just say."
"I don't need no help."
"That's good because I got somewhere to go, I'll see you around Nicki." He said walking towards the door. "Wait."
"Did you say something?"
"Help me." I mumbled holding my arms up at him.
"Please?"
He helped me up and sat me down on the chair.
"Hey give me your phone." I sucked my teeth and continued scrolling through my phone.
"I'm not playing with you-" he said pointing his gun at me.
I handed it to him and he started looking through it.
"I put my number in there it's saved under Future Husband/Daddy"
I screwed up my face in disgust. "I ain't calling you that. You not my daddy."
"You had no problem screaming it last night." He winked.
"Whatever. Once my legs stop hurting so bad, I'm heading home and I won't have to see your ugly face again."
"Just make sure you call me."
He stepped up closer to me. "Nicki. I'm not playing with you. You better call me as soon as you wake up tomorrow too."
"Why?"
"Because I said so."

"Chanel?" I called out as I entered our apartment. "In here boo."she replied. I followed the sound of her voice to her bedroom.
"Wow you look like shit." She giggled looking at me. "Aww thanks." I replied sarcastically.
She sat on her bed and patted the space next to her telling me to sit down. "So who did you fuck last night? And you better not come with that nobody bullshit because you just limped your way in here, hissing every two steps."
I laughed at the fact she had analysed my every movement and could automatically tell what I did last night.
"His name is Jayceon but everybody calls him Jace and he owns the club."
"Oh." Her face dropped and she was no longer smiling but instead had a worried look on her face. "What's oh?" I asked looking at her facial expression.
"I was meant to tell you last night but I heard things about him. He's in the game and crazy as fuck! I heard he killed a man by having his dogs tear him to pieces."
"I wish you would have told me before. It sounds like I'm lucky to have left with my life. Anyway it doesn't really matter now because I won't be seeing him again."

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
