《Athanasia Freecss》Chapter 13: the quiz

"You've got to be kidding me! How was that the right answer!? We're just supposed to give the old lady the answer she wants?! Nonsense!" Leorio started yelling loudly.
We were all silent, listening to him as he kept going.
"I'm going to find another route!" He said, turning to walk away but the lady stopped him.
"It's too late. Refusing to take the quiz means you're disqualified." She stated.
He gritted his teeth, starting to tell again and argue.
'he's loud..' I thought, watching the scene unfold in front of me.
"Different people would give different answers! There is no right answer!" Leorio said, tick marks on his forehead.
'getting so angry will make you look older than you already look, Eorio man.'
I averted my gaze from leorio and looked at Kurapika who had a slightly surprised face for a moment.
' he figured out the answer. He's pretty smart. I wouldn't have known the answer if I didn't watch the anime.'
I looked back at leorio, 'but then again, it's thanks to this idiot's words that gave him a hint '
"No right.. answer.." Kurapika mumbled, his eyes slightly widened as he finally figured out the right answer after hearing Leorio's words.
The woman saw him as he turned to tell the answer to his companions but she stopped him.
' The cat eyed boy has figured it out.' she thought, scanning them with her eyes.
"I will not allow any other word from you. If you say anything that's unrelated to the answer, you will be disqualified immediately." She stated firmly.
'Leorio, it's a simple trick..Gon.. Athanasia..' Kurapika thought.
"Here is your question. Your son and daughter have been kidnapped. You can only rescue one. 1, your son or 2, your daughter. Who will you rescue?"

Leorio was fuming in anger, he walked towards a house and took a wooden stick.
Gon was still thinking deeply.
Athanasia had a serious expression but her mind was elsewhere, she wasn't paying any attention. 'Would they give me one of these masks if I ask..?'
"5..4..3..2..1.. times up!" The woman said, leorio immediately jumped up to hit her but luckily Kurapika blocked him.
Athanasia snapped out of her thoughts and looked at them, 'Leorio, you idiot! I completely forgot this part..'
Gon had his index finger on his chin, thinking deeply and ignoring the commotion.
"don't stop me, Kurapika! I'll teach this hag a lesson!"
"Calm down, Leorio!"
"How can I calm down?!"
"We passed the test!"
"Huh? We passed?"
Leorio finally calmed down, Kurapika sighed and put away his weapon.
"We gave the right answer." Athanasia said, beating Kurapika to it as she was walking closer to them.
"silence was the correct answer." She added.
Except Gon, everyone was staring at her.
"So you too, figured it out." , Said the woman , earning a small nod from the girl.
After Kurapika explained everything to the confused Leorio, the woman smiled and got up, walking over to a gate.
"The correct path is over here. This leads directly to the tree. Walk two hours and you'll reach the top. " She informed them, the doors were open.
"A couple lives in the cabin beneath the cedar tree. They serve as navigators. If you meet their standards, I believe they will guide you to the exam site." She added.
Leorio apologized to the woman.
Athanasia smiled slightly for a second before going back to her poker face, little Gon was.. still thinking.
"It's all right. I do this job because I enjoy meeting people like you. Do your best and become a good hunter." She told him with a smile and leorio smiled back.

Suddenly a loud sigh was heard from Gon and everyone's attention was on him.
Gon dropped himself to the ground, " it's no use. I can't find an answer." He said.
Athanasia walked closer to him and pulled him back up.
' cutie pie ' she thought.
"You're still trying to find an answer!?" Leorio said, laughing a bit.
"The quiz is over." Kurapika said.
"I know…but" Gon started,
"What if I run into a situation like that and I can only save one person…what should I do?" Athanasia continued his words.
Gon smiled at his sister and the others were surprised.
' They really are twins huh?' they thought.
' I'm sorry Gon, I wanted some spotlight.' Athanasia thought.
"it wouldn't be right to choose just one..but someday I might have to make the choice." Gon said, looking at the two boys.
It was silent for a moment, everyone thinking about what Gon said with a serious face.
Well, everyone except our main character.
' Awww Gon ! You're so mature and cute. I'm really happy to be your sister! I will always protect you..'
' That's right.. that's the essential point of this quiz. What's abstract now, may become a cruel reality later. One must be ready for such crossroads in life. ' the woman thought, staring at the four friends who were walking away through the path she showed them.

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
