《psy·cho·log·i·cal》Chapter 11

"Bye Baylor, I'll see you soon. Tell Laney I said hello and kiss Jaxsun for me!" I hung up laughing to myself.
It's crazy how close Baylor and I've became after he helped me escape.
I still remember when I got to my new destination. I was a little hesitant about using the phone that he gave me, but I gave it a shot and look at us now.
We didn't speak to each other for about a year after I made it safely to my new home. One day he popped up at my job needing stitches and from there we exchanged numbers and started talking everyday.
Baylor has a girlfriend and a baby now, whom I'm the godmother of. Jaxsun reminded of his father, I knew from the moment I saw him he was going to be a heartbreaker. I was proud of Baylor and how he has grown not only with his business but as a person as well.
...
My life has been nothing, but great so far. I've made a name for myself at the hospital I work at and I volunteer for an elderly couple at their smoothie shack along the beach.
I even made two friends and I own a dog. My friends know about Baylor, but they don't know what he does for a living, they assume that he is just a family guy, who loves to take his family on trips.
Since every time he comes down, he brings his men.
When I first got to Hawaii, I was a little skeptical about making friends, but I talked myself into trying something and now I have people that love me genuinely.
Sterling Kade was the first person I met when I arrived, he is my next door neighbor and now my best friend. Our other friend is Brennan Micheal, I met him at the hospital I work at. His personality adds the spice to our friend group.

I felt bad about not telling them the truth about my background at first but I knew it was for the best.
One day I will hopefully be able to tell them the truth about me, but for now all they needed to know was my new name, which is Kaiser Drew James, and the reason why I left home, which was because my parents were impossible to live with.
"Kaiser you ready to go?" Sterling called out to me through my window, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I nodded and walked towards the door.
Today was Sterling and I's day to work at The Ocean Breeze Shack. Working with Sterling was always a blast, he's so sweet and funny. His character reminds me of Ayiden.
I don't understand why he doesn't have a girlfriend or a kid by now. We've always told him, he would make a handsome groom and he would have beautiful children, but every time we ask him about girls, he says that he hasn't found the right one yet.
"What are you thinking about" Sterling asked as we walked to the shack.
That's one of my favorite things about living here, I live only 2 mins away from the beach, making it easy when I work at the shack or just simply want to go to the beach.
"Nothing" I lied
"Mhmm I know your lying, but I'll drop it for now" he said.
"let's race to the shack, the last one there has to cook dinner tonight" I said running away before he could agree to it.
"No fair Kaiser" he said running to catch up
I looked back and started laughing because he was trying so hard to catch up.
I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I bumped into something.
I was waiting for the pain to come, but something or someone caught me. I opened my eyes and was caught off guard by who I saw.
There's no way that they could have found me.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com! The Weaver's Wrath
Millennia have passed since the end of the God Wars. Mankind's heroes of these wars, the powerful Luminescents, have since become the rulers of the lands, relying on their ancestors' deeds to fuel their own ambitions. The Church itself has fractured since the death of their Goddess. Now it has shifted its focus to a new power - the descendents of the men and women who had received her blessing in the past - the Luminescents. However, with the death of the Goddess Selene, their own abilities began to lessen in quality with each successive generation, leaving them grasping desperately at whatever they can; money, lands, power. Sevrath was born in a time far different than that of ages past. Much of the continent was under the rule of the powerful Luminescent rulers. The Gods were dead and gone; the age of man had begun. Only the Desolate Lands lay unconquered and resolute, a relic of the power of Deimos, the God of Death and Destruction. So when he is found near the borders of the Desolate Lands, what does it mean? Is he some spawn of demon, like many of the townsfolk of Carthal believe, or something else altogether? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This will not necessarily be something that is updated often.
