《The Elementals | Vkook |》42: PAIN

After Yugyeom bid goodbyes to all the royals he went back to his parents room. Both of them were not in a state to go anywhere or talk or do anything. They haven't eaten all day and Yugyeom has to make them eat.
So he told the maids to ready two plates of food for his parents. He knocked on the door when he heard a low 'Come in' of his father.
He went inside with the two plates.
" Mom, Dad, have the food please." Yugyeom requested softly when he saw their state.
They were so exhausted after crying so much that now they didn't even have any tears left. They looked dead outside and inside. Who wouldn't when their precious son was on the bed, fighting the poison in his body.
" Mom.....Dad....." Yugyeom called again.
They both looked at him sadly.
" We don't want to eat anything son." His father said making him sigh sadly.
" Dad..... Taehyung will surely wake up.....Do you think he will be happy knowing that you didn't eat you food?" Yugyeom asked softly and saw his parents tear up again. It was his first time seeing his happy parents cry. It made him tear up too.
" S-Son.....he will w-wake up....right?" His mother asked with expectations in his eyes.
His chin wobbled as he nodded hesitantly.
" Please eat...." He whispered and passed the food plates to them.
" I-I'll go now.....Please eat everything from that ok?" He asked his parents who nodded silently and continued eating.
He started to walk towards Taehyung's room where the doctors were still finding out the solution. He was in his own thoughts when he bumped into someone.
" I'm sorry for th- Lucas?" Yugyeom asked. Lucas nodded his head. Taehyung had introduced Lucas to them and all of them quickly became friends as Lucas was shy but also very respectful.

" Hello Prince Yugyeom...." He said sadly.
" Hello. What are you doing here?" Yugyeom asked. He saw Lucas sighing.
" After all the royals left for visiting each of the kingdoms, the university told us to go back to our respective kingdom because something important was going to happen. I was studying medicine so I started working under the royal medic here. That's why I'm here." Lucas said and Yugyeom nodded quickly.
" You were going somewhere?" He asked again and Lucas nodded.
" I was going to the library to search if I can find some medicine for that poison. According to the symptoms, the poison looks deadly." Lucas said.
" Now excuse me, I have to go." He excused himself and went from there.
He continued walking towards Taehyung's room where he saw the Royal medic there.
The medic bowed to him as he rushed out. He waited for the medic outside Taehyung's room. When he saw the medic coming towards them, he stopped him.
" I-Is Tae alright? What's happening?" He asked the medic, trying not to panic.
" We don't know what's happening to him. Right now the only important thing for us is to lower the fewer and find out what he was given." The medic said.
" The symptoms are also unknown. We are trying to figure out everything as quickly as we can. So please excuse me." The medic said and went from there.
Yugyeom wanted to cry so bad. They haven't seen his little brother for a day now. All the doctors and the royal medics are trying to find out the solution but no one could.
Yugyeom sat down on the floor besides Taehyung's room waiting for someone else to come out and tell him something.

Minutes turned to hours but no one still came outside. All he could hear was some of Taehyung's painful shouts which made his heart ache. He just wanted to barge in and take his baby bear in his arms and calm him down saying all is fine.
He let his tears flow out hearing those painful screams. Those screams stopped after a few minutes, telling Yugyeom that Taehyung is unconscious. The whole night passed by.
It was morning now. Yugyeom didn't even sleep a second. He stayed their outside Taehyung's room but no one came outside.
Soon a maid saw him there and bowed to him.
" Second Prince? What are you doing here?" She asked him while watching him stand up.
" Nothing....." Yugyeom replied.
She saw his state. He looked so weak and sleepy.
" Second Prince, if the king and queen saw you in this state, then they would be very angry. Please go in your room and rest for some hours. I'll bring your lunch directly." She said but he shook his head.
" No. How can I sleep when my little brother is in that state? I-I can't." Yugyeom said but the maid again bowed politely.
" I am sorry if I say something wrong, but yesterday, you told the king and the queen that they should eat and sleep properly. If they don't, then the young prince can get angry once he is fine. Then why aren't you doing the same? And there is no searching started for the one who did all of this. Please go and rest and eat something as we have to find the culprit who did this to young prince." The maid said and she was right.
Yugyeom just nodded and went to his room.
( After the lunch)
Yugyeom slept for like four hours and freshened himself up and ate his lunch. He dashed towards his brother's room just to find out his parents waiting outside.
" Mom, Dad? Why are you here? And why are you crying?" He asked his parents.
His father looked at him with red puffy eyes. His mother was on the state to get unconscious. They were crying hysterically.
" Dad please tell me what's wrong!?" Yugyeom asked his dad because his mom didn't even looked in the state to talk.
" O-Our T-Tae...." His father started.
" What about Tae dad!?" Yugyeom yelled a little, panick taking over him.
" H-He...."
" H-He is dying."

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
