《Lucifer (Gender Swap)》Just A Stupid Theory

"You're the devil, can't you just poof some food home?"
"I can, but I'm trying to act more like a human."
I follow her down the aisles of the store, grabbing groceries and other essentials before checking out. Things loaded in the car, I drive to the pharmacy. Luci hops out and walks through the door. A minute or so later, she comes out with a plastic bag, two pink boxes inside. Once she's safely buckled, I question her.
"What did you get?"
She pulls out pregnancy tests.
"It's been a week."
I nod, not saying another word as I pull out into traffic. The car is silent the rest of the way home except for the music playing through the radio. She hums along to the tune of 'Dance With The Devil'. When she catches me glancing in her direction, she stops.
"What? I can't like music?"
"Of course you can. I didn't know you like hard rock."
"I know I'm just feeding into the stereotypical assumption, but I've always listened to hard rock, alternative, and metal bands."
"Any favorites?"
"Anything, really."
I smile, shaking my head and chuckling. Luci automatically gets defensive.
"What's so funny?"
"You just keep giving me more reasons to be in love with you."
Just like that, the devil blushes. I reach a hand over, grabbing ahold of hers. I bring it up to my lips, planting a soft kiss on her skin before setting our hands on the center console. The song changes to something more upbeat and she takes in a sharp breath.
"I haven't heard this song in ages!"
She turns up the radio, allowing the familiar song to fill the car.
'You think I'm nothing, Cause I'm nothing like you. You think you know me, You have no idea what I've been through. So take a shot, Say what you want about me. All you are is everything that I will never be. Fake!'

I pull into the driveway and leave the car running, watching as she sings along, nailing every lyric. Once the song comes to a close, she looks at me, smiling and laughing.
"You never cease to amaze me, Lucifer."
Her smile fades and she looks at me with wide eyes, lips slightly parted.
"Let's get these groceries inside."
When she answers, her voice sounds distant.
"Yeah. Groceries."
She opens the door and climbs out. We both take some bags, setting them on the island to start unloading. I catch her staring at me more than once, clearly distracted. Once all the groceries are away, I pull her in for a hug.
"What's going on, Luci? You don't seem yourself."
"In the car, you said that you love me."
"Yes. We've said this to each other before."
"Yeah, but... never mind."
"Never mind what?"
"It's a stupid theory. Just forget about it."
"You can tell me."
"It's just a stupid theory, Andrew. Please drop it."
"If that's what you want, gorgeous."
And in that moment, she proceeds to distract me from her 'theory'.
