《Lucifer (Gender Swap)》Something Isn't Right

I collapse against the bed, exhausted. Luci curls against me, kissing me softly.
"You're going to be the death of me, Lucifer."
She bites down, hard enough for a faint mark to appear, but not hard enough to break skin. She tries to slip out from under the covers but I grab her and pull her against me. She lets out a gasp when I lower my lips to her ear, blowing softly. Goosebumps skitter across her skip, causing me to smile.
"I have to make dinner."
"I'm not hungry."
"I have to take a shower."
"You smell amazing."
"I have to let the dog out."
"We don't have a dog."
"Let me at least grab something."
I let her go and she disappears. When she returns, she has one of my shirts on. She sticks her tongue out and leaves the room. Just to play the same card as her, I grab her underwear, hanging and placing them in places too high for her to reach. When I was satisfied with my work, I slid on a pair of boxers and a t-shirt. I find Luci in the kitchen, open beer sitting on the table for me, and one in her hand for herself. The phone is pressed against her ear, but she hangs up, frustrated, a few seconds later. She takes a swig of the beer before setting it down.
"My source says it's too risky and backed out. We're stuck at square one."
The doorbell rings and, without thinking, I tell the person to come in. Hailey walks into the kitchen and upon the sight of Luci and I, stopping.
"Oh. I didn't know you had company."
I feel the anger rolling off Lucifer. I don't let it bother me.

"Can I help you, Hailey? I would like to get back to the discussion I was having."
"I just wanted to stop by and offer company. I knew you lived alone, but clearly things have changed."
"That is none of your business."
"Who is your friend, Andrew?"
I turn to Luci. She's giving me a smile but her eyes reveal anger.
"Luci, this is my colleague Hailey. Hailey, this is Luci. I believe you two met at the hospital a while back."
They shake hands for a brief second before Luci speaks again.
"Would you like to join us for dinner, Hailey? I've made too much for just two people."
"I wouldn't want to impose."
"I assure you, we'd love to have you as our guest Hailey."
Lucifer says the name as if it's acid on her tongue, burning a hole. I give my best towards telling Hailey she can join us for dinner.
"If you insist."
"Perfect! The chicken will be done in five minutes. If Andrew would set the table, we'll be all ready!"
I look over at the oven. It's preheated and there is obviously something cooking in there. When I give Luci a questioning look, she smiles and winks, which thankfully goes unnoticed by Hailey. I grab plates out of the cabinet as Luci offers Hailey a beer, which she politely declines. Instead, Luci hands her a glass of water as the oven timer goes off. She pulls the delicious looking chicken out of the oven and sets it on the stove. She pulls a bowl of fresh salad, which also magically appeared, from the fridge. We all sit at the table, digging into the flavorful meal.

"Ms. Peterson, did you attend a club Friday night? " Mr. Shaw said causally as he focused his eyes on his twirling pen."No" I said trying not to show that I was lying. But then again people always think I'm lying."Well I just ask because when I went to a club Friday night...there was a girl who looked an awful lot like, you dancing on one of the tables at a bar with a bra on as a top" he said focusing his narrowing eyes on me now." Is that question really appropriate to ask in the work place sir?" I said confused."I'm not sure? Is it Ms. Peterson?" he said a little sarcastically."Well... since you are not sure, I will just be on the safe side and not answer it sir" I said hoping to get a positive response for what I just said. "Very well. Get out now" he said coldly and I walked out of the office with my next assignment. Why didn't God answer my prayer about Mr. Shaw getting attacked by a bear?
