《What happens in Vegas》35| Road

"Bella," he said, his grip on my hand tightening while he drove me home.
"Yeah?" I asked, looking at him.
"I'm going to talk to my dad today," he stated.
"About?" I questioned.
"About Berkeley and not wanting to go."
"You're what?" I stared at him in shock.
"I don't want to go, Bella. I'm sick of it, the entire time, from applying to getting the letter, he's been on my case and I can't deal with it anymore. If I don't want to go then I... I won't go," he sighed.
"You're really not going?" I asked, trying to bite back the grin that was etched onto my face slowly.
"You're not going, what the fuck will I do there? What are you planning to do anyway?" he asked.
"I don't know, probably travel first. Do something with half the money I've saved, continue saving the rest for-"
"Our wedding," he said, throwing me a wink.
"Sure thing," I chuckled. We pulled up at my house and he got out, getting the door for me before locking his car. "Are you staying?" I asked.
"Can I? I don't really wanna go home right now, knowing what I'm about to tell him," he winced.
"Stay as long as you like," I said, leaning in and pecking his lips before unlocking my front door and taking him inside with me.
"Hey, Belle!" my mom sang.
"Hi, mom," I smiled.
"Belle?" Noah whispered.
"She's always said it, even with me growing up," I shrugged while we headed up to my room.
"I like it, it feels like Beauty and the Beast," he grinned.
"After the beast turned into a prince or before?" I laughed.
"A little bit of both. You see," he chuckled, "The beast treated Belle like a princess and the prince looked like a prince. I do both," he winked.
"Just don't die out on me even if it's momentarily, hmm?" I asked, pulling his arms around my waist while facing him, walking backward to the bed.
"I'm not dying until I've spoiled our grandkids," he smiled.
"Before you go on to grandkids," I laughed, "What will we name our children?" I asked, lying down with him on top of me.
"If it's a girl... I don't know. If it's a boy... I still don't know," he chuckled, resting his forehead on mine.

"Hmm, if it's a boy, then... Miles," I grinned.
"Miles," he nodded, "And if it's a girl?" he asked.
"Then you can pick when you hold her. See what vibes you get," I shrugged.
"Okay," he chuckled, giving me short kisses. "You know, with the way things are going between us," he said, looking down at me while I ran my fingers through his hair. "I wouldn't doubt we'll be married and parents within five years," he said.
"Hmm, when do you reckon we'll get married? Since you didn't let me marry you in Vegas," I said, narrowing my eyes at him.
"Since you were drunk in Vegas and we're eighteen years old," he laughed, "I'd say around... twenty-one?"
I looked at him wide-eyed, "Twenty-one? That's so young, that's in three years. Noah, some people take three years to plan their wedding," I chuckled.
"Then lucky for us, you don't want a big wedding or wedding reception, just a grand honeymoon, I'm sure we can have that all in three years," he retorted, "The real question is: How many kids do you want?" he smirked at me, arching a brow.
"That depends on how labor goes for the first time around," I answered.
"Smart answer," he chuckled.
"I'm more than likely to be able to do it once, more than that? I think I'll pass," I laughed.
"Raising more than one kid? I think I'll pass too," he nodded.
"One kid," I nodded, "Boy or girl?"
"Doesn't matter, you?" he asked.
"Doesn't matter, but what do you think? Do you picture a family of us and a little boy or girl?" I questioned out of curiosity.
"I see myself raising a daughter, I see you raising a son, let's see what we get," he smirked.
"You see me raising a son?" I asked, kind of surprised. I always saw myself incredibly in love with my husband and raising a daughter.
"Let me rephrase that, I see myself spoiling a daughter, you spoiling a son. But I see you with a little girl too, I don't know actually, do that necklace thing," he shrugged.
"What necklace thing?" I chuckled.
"You don't know?" I shook my head in response. "You hold a necklace in your palm and then pick it up slowly, no moving it. If it swings back and forth, you're going to have a son. If it sways around in a circle or left/right, it's going to be a daughter," he shrugged in explanation.

"I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be done when you're already pregnant," I laughed.
"We can do that," he smirked.
"Hey," I said scoldingly.
"Kidding. We'll save that for the future," he winked.
"Have I ever told you how adorably charming I find you?" I smiled.
"No, but I wouldn't mind hearing that more often," he grinned.
"Well, you are adorably charming," I chuckled, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"Well, you are fucking beautiful," he mumbled before kissing me, "I never wanna leave you," he said while hugging me, all his weight on me. I didn't mind it if I'm honest, nobody minds when their boyfriend lays down on top of them.
"You never should, I swear. I will find you and I will drag your ass back here," I said while running my fingers through his hair.
"You better, don't ever let me go, you won't find another guy like me," he chuckled.
"You think you can find another girl like me?" I asked.
"No," he said while kissing my cheek.
"Then why will you leave?" I chuckled.
"Fair enough," he agreed, "I'll never leave you," he said, lifting himself up onto his elbows, looking down at me, tucking my hair behind my ear simultaneously.
"Promise?" I asked. It felt a little unfair, asking him to promise me that before he spoke to his dad. "At least promise me you'll try to stay," I whispered.
"I promise," he mumbled against my lips, between our kisses. We fell into silence while he rolled over and lay beside me, staring at me and I stared back just the same. I lay on my side but he still lay on his back, just looking at me.
"I seriously love you, don't ever fucking leave me," I mumbled.
"I won't," he reassured, grabbing my hand.
There was a knock on my door before it opened and my dad's head peeked in. "Hey, your mom told me you're home, Noah," he said, walking in, nodding at Noah, smiling at us.
"Mr. Miller," he smiled while sitting up. I frowned, grabbing his shirt and pulling him back down. He chuckled while my dad smiled down at us, adoration and somewhat pride in his eyes.
"You look proud," I said, laughing, looking up at my dad.
"I am proud," he nodded.
"Of who? Him or me?" I chuckled.
"Both of you," he laughed, "Bella, you are my daughter, hm? Noah, I treat and think of you as my son." He seemed to realize what that would make us and corrected himself. "As my son-in-law, whatever. Can't make you my son now," he said, sitting on my desk chair, "But as a kid, I did treat you like my son, I'm proud of you, both of you," he nodded.
I lay on my other side, facing my dad while Noah propped his head up on his elbow behind me so he could see my dad as well.
"Bella, you went to Vegas, did yourself a favor and found this one," he chuckled, "And even though you're not going to college," he paused, looking between us, "It doesn't bother me, hmm? I just want you to be happy. That better means you're marrying him," he pointed at Noah.
I looked up at Noah with a smile while he smirked at me, raising his eyebrows.
"And Noah, I've watched you grow up, I didn't train you the whole time, but I watched. And I'm so glad you're the one my daughter is with. But break her heart and I'm afraid I'll have to... you know. So don't. Cause um," he scrunched up his nose, "Don't do it. I don't want to hate you, son."
"I won't break her heart, promised her," he said, looking down at me, running his fingers through my hair.
"Do you two have any plans for after the summer?" my dad questioned. I looked at Noah expectantly, it really depends on him.
"There's some stuff I need to talk to my dad about. Related to college. I don't really want to go but it's tradition, everyone in my family goes to Berkeley, so I don't know. I'm hoping to convince him," he shrugged.
"I hate to be this person but... what if you can't?" my dad asked hesitantly. I know he's only asking because he worries.
"Then I have no fucking idea what I'm going to do," he sighed, his eyes widening, "Sorry, I didn't mean to swear like that," he said to my dad.
"Fuck it, we're all adults here," my dad laughed, "Look now, in all seriousness. As far as I'm concerned, you two are mature enough and love each other enough to deal with a bump in the road if you come across one. That's all that I care for," he shrugged before excusing himself and leaving.
This road could either be going on and on- like, hopefully, our future.
Or it might be leading us to cliff- like our breakup.
That all depends on Noah and Mr. Hudson.
