《Let me love you》42

I got a job. My dream job in fact. I finally made it to the big stages, I'm officially a pole dancer.
I'm lying but maybe if I keep manifesting it'll come true.
I did get a job though, but unfortunately it wasn't something fun and adventurous like a pole dancer. It was just at some random restaurant downtown that were highly unemployed. Today was my first day working and me being me, I'll try being the best waitress that I can be.
"Hi! What can I get for you? Would you like to hear our menu special?!" I said cheerfully to Heath as he sat in the kitchen. I made him sit down so that I could practice.
Practice makes perfect or whatever so that's what I'll do. I have some experience with waitressing since I do have little sisters and we'd play restaurant together. So I'm hoping that will come in handy but other than that I'm relying on my socializing skills.
"Not really." Heath goes off script and takes a swing of his beer.
He's been acting a little moody all week for some reason, I think part of it could be because he didn't necessarily want me to get a job. Because he didn't want me to work and thinks I won't spend time with him anymore.
Which is silly because I'm planning on moving in with him. My dad isn't too fond of the idea of me moving in with a man but he'll accept it soon enough. Plus I'm an independent woman now, I think I can take responsibility and get a job.
I've been holding back on getting a job for some time now, I think it's time for me to just act like an adult.
"You're line was supposed to be sure, I'd love to! Try it again." I tell him and walk back to the entrance to practice walking in.
I already had my cute little uniform on, the whole outfit was black, black t-shirt, black small shorts and an apron. Plus the little notepad I'd get once I got there. I'm excited for this, I've always wanted to get a job but I'm lazy.
I walk back into the kitchen and pretend to hold my notebook and pen in my hand as I approached Heath.
"Hello, sir. What can I get for you? Would you like to hear our menus special for today? " I ask him once again, from the top.
"Sure." He grumbles with narrowed eyes. His hair fell messily because of all the hair ruffles I'd given him today.
He was looking extra handsome today, he's put on that dangly earring on his left ear that he hasn't put on in a while. His muscular biceps were flexing and practically bulging out in that tight white shirt he wore. He would look one hundred times better with a smile on his face.

"Todays special is Mac and cheese, can I serve you a plate?" I wink, or attempt to wink right after I make that up.
"New situation. Pretend I'm some other random girl. Tryna be your side chick what would you do, ready?" I turn my back to him and then turn back around to start my act.
"You are the side chick." He smirks at me, making me feel relieved to know he was lying.
"You should be so lucky to have me as anything. Much more a side chick, you should be honored to even have me in your life." I cross my arms at him and put my weight on one leg.
"I know." He nods in agreement and pulls me in closer to him by my waist. I'm standing in between his legs now.
"Give me a kiss." I lean in, puckering up my lips and he leans in.
"Sike, you thought thot." I turn my head the other way before he could even touch my lips. I'm just slick like that.
"Bitch." He whispers under his breath and sits forward, facing the table. He's butt hurt.
"What was that?" I ask him but he just clenched his jaw.
"Nothing." He mutters through clenched teeth. It better have been nothing.
"That's what I thought." I laugh and refrain from calling him a thot again.
"Now let's go, I can't be late to my first day." I drag him out of the house and say bye to the puppies.
Heath drives me to my job and comes in with me. Not because I begged him to or anything, he wanted to willingly. I go in the back as he waits at the seating booths, he said he was going to stay for my whole shift. I hope he wouldn't, I can't have him distracting me from working.
His presence alone would make me want to stop by and chit chat with him for hours. I need money so I can't have that happening.
"Thalia, you're a couple of minutes early. I didn't expect you yet. It's pretty slow in the mornings but you can start wiping the tables for now." Noa , the managers daughter tells me as she hops from off the counter.
I had met her when I had my interview, she's the managers daughter and was allowed to work for her dad at only seventeen. She was pretty nice from what I've seen so far so that's already a good start. I cannot work with mean people.
The only other people who worked here were the two chef's in the back and both Noa and I. Her dad would work occasionally is what I was told. Like I said, they were low on staff.
"I can do that. I'm good at wiping stuff down." I tell her and take the tag from her hand.

I walk back over to the dining area and see only two people here already. One of them was an old man, reading his newspaper as he drank a cup of coffee. Adorable. And the other was Heath, who was just staring down at his wrist, fidgeting with his bracelet.
I find the first empty table and wipe down any food crumbs, but they end up falling on the floor so I don't know what the point of cleaning was. I continue as I wipe down any empty tables first before heading to the back.
"There's a guy who's been sitting out there for some time. He hasn't asked to order anything yet. Go over there and ask him. You see him?" Noa looks over my shoulder and I follow her eyes.
"He's actually kinda hot." She says when she looks at Heath longer.
"He's alright." I shrug and walk around the counter over to Heath.
"Hi!" I said cheerfully as I approach Heath, he lifts his head up to look at me.
"What can I get for you today?" I ask him with a smile on my face, taking out my note pad.
He looks behind me, looking at Emma before keeping his eyes on me again.
"Do you have chocolate milk?" He asks me, his voice coming off hollow.
"We do, anything else you'd like?" I ask and write it down on my notepad, because I forget things easily.
"no." He shakes his head and I put my pen back in my little pocket of my apron.
"I'll be right back." I tell him but turn around to see Emma still looking over here.
"love you." I whisper to him and walk over to the back of the counter.
"Did he say anything out of the ordinary?" Noa asks me, intrigued by all this.
"Nope, he just wanted chocolate milk." I tell her and grab a cup to serve Heath his chocolate milk.
I take the cup and walk back over to Heath and place it down on the table in front of him. I put down a straw in front of him and wait for him to take a sip.
"How did I do?" I ask, wiggling my brows.
"Good. Bit slow." He gestures with his hand.
"Tip" I hold my hand out for him and he digs in his pocket for something.
"Don't spend it all at once." He tells me and puts one dollar in my hand. A dollar in quarters.
"I have a family. And bills that need to be paid. But thanks, a dollar can change lives." I spoke sarcastically and leave him to enjoy his milk.
"Was he flirting with you?!" Noa asks me, resting her face on her fist.
"He's my boyfriend aka sugar daddy aka professional wrestler, believe it or not." I tell her once I return back to the back of the counter.
"Really? With all due respect he is hot and that's coming from me. As a gay woman." She sighs playfully and I chuckle at her.
"On my behalf, he says thank you." I speak for him since he couldn't hear our conversation.
"What else should I do? There isn't many people yet." I huff in boredom because I knew we'd have to wait a couple hours before people filled the place.
"Honestly when there's not much to do, I just go on my phone. But in the back so people and the cameras can't see you. We have to maintain this space clean so basically clean whenever." She guides me and honestly seems easy enough.
Eventually I go back to check in on Heath to see how he was doing. He had already managed to drink the whole cup in a matter of ten minutes.
"Need the check?" I ask him and he nods at me.
"I think it's my turn to give you a discount, right?" I remember back to when he did me the favor of giving me a discount at his job.
"I can pay the few dollars." He shrugs carelessly and I agree since he really wants to.
I give him the check and place my pen down for him to use. He tells me he was going to leave to go to the tattoo shop himself, but come back when my shift was over.
When I come back around to clean up the one dish he used and napkins, I find him gone already. But he left something that caught my attention and softened my sensitive heart.
You look very pretty in the kitchen, serving me. :)
-Heath
I smile at the words written in pen on the napkin. Even adding a little smiley face at the end. Funny. He's too perfect.
I see the money hidden underneath the napkin, with ten dollar tips. I shake my head at the tip, I got a job so that he didn't have to give me money or pay for me but here he is giving me tips.
Im grateful that my first costumer was my boyfriend, that's sweet in a way. I know he means well and only wanted to help. And I want to be able to do the same for him.
