《broken walls // taeny》4- Trying

After those long and depressing hours of work I finally made my way out the store. One of the worst days.
I look around to make sure no one is following me. The coast is clear I change my mask and walk towards the unknown path to school.
Once I get to school I go inside my car and take my mask off.
As I'm about to leave there was this car that just zoomed in front of me blocking my way. Annoyed I honk at them.
The driver walks out and looks toward me, well shit.
She walks closer to me not breaking any eye contact.
"Taeyeon get out." Her voice was heard even inside my car.
Trying to think of a way out of this situation, I look back to see no car. So I try to back up. But all of a sudden there was another car that stops behind me, blocking my way.
"Shit!" I exclaim.
I get out of my car and slam the door.
"Tae don't slam the door. It's expensive." She chuckles.
"Let me leave." I glare at her.
"Tae.. we just wanna help you. We want you back with us." She has sad written on her face which made me feel guilty.
"I have nothing! Why can't you understand?! Why can't any of you!? Because of me all of us had to go through a really tough time! If it weren't for me, you all could have been happy!" I yell at her and my tears are filling my eyes.
"We're your friends! Yes! We were mad at you! You did say harsh things! Yes you're heart is still broken! Yes you're alone! Now don't! You can't be by yourself!" She yells back.
I hear car doors slam and they all gather around me.
"Unnie. Please." One of the other people said with her eyes filled with sadness.
Oh our youngest. You should have never gone through this. I really do love you. Oh so innocent and smart.
"I'm sorry!" I yell at all of them and push them out of the way.
I run far far away.
Dammit. I still have homework. Stupid idea Taeyeon.
After what seemed like hours I went back to the parking lot. Harshly wiping the tears off, I managed to arrive with swollen eyes.

I peak to see if they're still there but they're not. With a sigh of relief I open my car door.
I drive back home and quickly do my given work.
---
The next day came by, and here I am in the class. Tiffany soon comes in and all the guys ravage her.
"Tiffany-sshi! Wanna go to a movie!"
"You're so beautiful!"
"Can you help me with my math homework, gorgeous?"
Gross. All these perverts trying to get a girl like Tiffany. Tch. Annoying little bastards. By the looks of it, Tiffany sure is uncomfortable.
Annoyed I stand up from my chair that caused a screech. All eyes on me and I walk in front of Tiffany.
"Annoying. Do you have any respect for her? What are you doing? She's clearly uncomfortable." I state and they immediately shut up.
I sit back down and the rest of the class bursts into murmurs.
"She's pissed."
"Wow. That was so cool."
"Is she now friends with Tiffany?"
I put my head down and try to calm myself.
I hear the chair screech but not as loud as I made it.
"Thanks." She whispers but I just dragged my head to face the other way.
"You're sad aren't you." I raise my head in confusion.
"Why are you hiding yourself? Don't hide your true self. Don't cover yourself up." She stares right through my eyes.
My heart starts to beat in a fastened pace. But I can't let that get in my way every again.
"Who said I was." I grit my teeth in anger and she smiles.
"Just don't. Step out of your bubble once in a while." She smiles at me, the smile which reaches her eyes.
"You can't tell me what to do." I mention and I rest my head on my arms.
"So you are sad." She smiles.
"No. I'm not. Besides who told you I'm covering up myself. That person sure is lying." I mutter and made she heard it.
"Well someone told me that, I'm blind and people show and fake identity just to cover them self up." She emphasized, someone.
Wait, I told her that.
"Well it can't apply to everyone. Maybe it's someone else but surely not me. So don't think you know me." I state.

She had no time to respond since the professor entered the class.

Once class ended I bursted out the room and I quickly went to the rooftop. Hopefully no one followed me.
"AHHH!!!!" I yell in frustration.
I hear the door creek and I swiftly look towards it.
Soon came out them. They stood there blocking the entrance/exit.
"Leave." I mutter and I turn my back on them.
"C'mon Tae! It's been years! Tiffany told us what you said! You're not a bad friend!" The shortest yelled.
"GO AWAY!" I yell at them.
"We're trying to help you unnie." One of the tallest said whilst holding a bag of chips.
Hah you never changed did you?
Suddenly, they all run towards me and engulf me in a huge group hug.
Feeling powerless I just stood still not retaliating.
"We will help you. It's been years now. It's time to move on." Soo whispered and they all agreed.
"I can't. I really can't." I whisper back.
"Yes. You can. We're here for you unnie." The youngest said and it really made me feel loved.
"I'm sorry. I'm just not ready to open myself again." I held onto their arms and tried hard not to cry.
"We understand. But it's been so long. At least let us be here for you." The blonde stated.
"I'll try. But don't expect me to get comfortable." I couldn't go either way.
They would surround me until I agreed.
"I want my dorky unnie back." The youngest was the first to break apart from the hug.
"Yeah we all do." The kkab one smiled.
"I'm sorry." I kept my head hanging and they just smiled.
"Tae. It's fine. But we will give you alone time until next week." The shorty explained.
I nodded in agreement and they hugged me once more before leaving the rooftop.
I actually felt love I haven't felt in years. They really are good friends.
Dammit! I let emotions take over me again. You have to be strong. Yes they were sad but, why don't I just move back to Jeonju? Wait too many painful memories.
After I ate, I went back to class and notice Tiffany's not there yet.
The other classmates who have arrived just ignored my presence. I thank God for making people like this. Minding their own business.
I walked to my seat and took out my phone. My mood was pretty fine at the moment. I felt many different emotions, scared, relieved, happy, and loved.
I put my earphones in and rested my head on my arms. I was listening to one of my favourite songs, I.
It's a really good song. I always unconsciously smile when listening to this song.
All of a sudden I feel that wave of electricity, it caused me to jump. There, she's standing there in confusion.
"You're in a better mood." She smiles and places her books on the table.
"Guess you can say that." I replied, taking one earphone out.
"I heard you talked to them. I believe I know you. I know who you are." She suddenly states and I turn my head towards her.
"No you don't." I try to put back my earphone in the vacant ear but her hand stops me.
"Strawberry smoothie with strawberry chunks at the bottom." She states her order for bubble tea.
I knew I had to act confused.
"Where did strawberry come from?" I raise my eyebrows.
"You can't tell me you don't know." The eye-smile girl crossed her arms and leans back on the chair.
"Well, I don't know." I put the other earphone in and lean my head back down on my arms.
Suddenly she pulls out my earphone that was just placed and starts to lean in. My heart is in eratical speed.
Don't do anything stupid Taeyeon.
"I connected the dots. They talked to you. They were the ones who they grabbed at the bubble tea place. You work there." She chuckled.
"No I don't." I grab my earphone.
"I'm not stupid! They wanted to get one person to talk to them and it ended up being you and the bubble tea maker! You both have the same voice! You both have the same car! You're the one who dropped me off when my car broke down!" She emphasized every single time we had an interaction.
"So if I am those people you say I am, what is that to you?" I stare at her with directly, desired for an answer.
"Inspiration."

School-life & Swordfights: A Clubs and Stubs Tale
Warning: Clubs and Stubs contains strong language and situations throughout that may not be suitable for younger readers. "This story takes place in a fantasy world with a modernish setting. It mainly follows four students of Hardires High School who are members of one of the greatest Team Arena Squads in the history of gladiatorial school athletics. Already two-time high-school world champions, they have entered their fourth and final year of high school in hopes of capturing a third straight world championship—something that no other school on the continent has accomplished. As they prepare for an upcoming match with a rival school, it becomes evident that keeping their two-and-a-half-year winning streak alive will be tougher than expected. As both personal and external problems abound for the student-gladiators, can they manage to keep it together under the constant pressure of being the perfect fighting unit? A blend of action, drama, adventure, and humor collide in this brand-new series!" Thanks so much for checking out my story! This is the first time that I've released any of my work to a public space so any feedback, be it positive or negative (but please be respectful if so) would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this story is only the beginning of a long-running series of short stories set in the Clubs and Stubs universe. Temporary Book Cover Design by David Watson The release schedule is rather tentative, but the goal is to release a chapter every 2-4 days. I want to make sure that every scene is the best it can be before it’s released, so it may take a bit longer especially if it's a longer chapter. However, no chapter should take more than a week to be released. Each scene varies in length, but are usually between 1,000 to 2,000 words.
