Mabels eyes fluttered open.
Her first coherent thought coming straight at her in a rush.
Where is Adonis?
Mabel shifts her gaze around the room, which she now knows to be the pack house living room only to see no one.
Not one person in a usually highly populated place. It was like seeing no one at an Airport, it just feels wrong.
Mabel slowly sat up and moved from the couch she was on to stand up. Her knees wobble a bit but she manages to grip onto the coffee table before she fell.
"A-adonis?", Mabel shouted, her voice coming out scratchy causing her to flinch.
Why was her voice scratchy?
There was no reply.
Suddenly she heard a scream.
She turned quickly towards the sound and ran towards it, thinking of whatever helpless child needed help in what seemed to be an empty house.
She ran as the screams faded and saw a small boy, maybe 7, rubbing his eyes as they squeezed shut. Mabels heart clenched as she took in the boys features. He looked just like Adonis had in that age.
Mabel walked slowly, but making sure her steps were heard so the child wouldn't get scared and run away.
"H-hello", Mabel whispered, slowly sitting down next to the whimpering boy.
"Salve", the child greeted in Latin.
Mabels eyebrows raised. No one but Adonis and the Alphas family knew Latin. Adonis had made Mabel learn it when she was the tender age of five. She was a natural but much preferred Italian. She would speak to Adonis in Italian which he understood due to him knowing over 15 languages and Adonis would speak Latin to her which she understood. It was their thing.
"Come ti chiami?" Mabel asks in Italian, testing his knowledge on languages.
"Nicholas " the boys replied quietly.
Mabels eyes widened as he understood her.
"Y-You are v-ve-very good at you-your languages N-Nicholas. My f-father ha-had the same na-name!" Mabel says excitedly.
Nicholas smiled lightly and nodded his head.
"W-What's wron-wrong Nicholas?" Mabel whispered to the boy gently, trying not to frighten him.
"My momma" he replied shortly, squeezing his already closed eyes tighter together.
Mabel couldn't help but want him to open his eyes, curious to what his eyes would show.
Eyes were the doors to your soul and if he could just open his eyes she could comfort him.
"Wh-what's wr-wrong with yo-your momma?" Mabel asked, for some reason she felt like she needed to whisper. She didn't know why but she knew she needed to.
Suddenly the boys eyes shot open and he shot his head towards Mabel, his eyes snapping to her eyes making her gasp.
He had the same colour eyes as her, but it looked as if a mist covered it, making her unable to see his true eyes.
"The one you desire but did not seek,
Shall fall from the highest peak,
Your eyes will bloom a golden sun,
To remind them of what they've done.
He shall leave and you shall be taken,
Left with the one who was mistaken.
The hunt will last for three long years,

A search for the one who disappeared."
The boys voice contorted as he spoke, as if a million different voice were trying to speak the same words as they came from the boy. At the end he gasped and clutched his throat as if he was choking. Mabel hurried to his side and pried his hand from his throat as she quickly began massaging it, making it relax and open his windpipe again.
The boy fell into her and clutched his head as he lay it on her lap. Mabel looked at him cautiously before running her hands through his hair and think of what he had said.
She knew what had happened. She had learned from Vaxis that there are special beings, very powerful creatures, that have premonitions and she was sure this boy was one of them. Which meant she was going to be taken if she didn't get to Adonis to tell him about the premonition.
Nicholas slowly sat up again and looked her in her eyes. Mabel stared back.
His eyes were cleared now. The mist having disappeared with the vision.
Yes, Mabel ,said he has definitely stolen my eyes.
"You're in trouble" he said to her. He really did remind her of Adonis, too mature for their age.
"I am", she replied nodding her head.
"Well then why are you here?" Nicholas asked her as if she had a choice.
"W-well th-this is the p-pack ho-house?" She answered warily.
"No you must go home!", grabbing onto her head gently and placing two of his thumbs in the middle of her forehead as he leaned forward and kissed it.
Mabel giggled at his action and leaned up and kissed his forehead too before she slowly got dizzy and laid back on some steps on the stairs.
Her vision slowly went black and the last thing she heard was a faint 'bye'.
What she didn't hear was the 'ma', after it.

Mabel threw her head up as her eyes shot open.
She frantically looked around.
"N-Nicholas?!", she screamed, taking in her surroundings.
She was in what looked to be Adonis' room.
"Who the fuck is Nicholas?" A voice said from the corner.
Mabel turned around at the sound and came face to face with Liam.
She gripped his arms frantically and pulled him close to her, widening her eyes so much that Liam felt chills run up his spine.
"N-Nicholas, uh a-about 5 f-foot? Uh l-looks like a-Adonis b-but ha-has really l-light bl-blue eyes? W-where is h-he?!" Mabel rushed, gripping Liams arms tighter and tighter as each word passes.
"Ah, ow Luna let go! I don't know any Nicholas of that description, let go!" He begged trying to pull her hands off.
"I-uh-I-bu- ADONIS! W-Where's Ado-adonis!?" She said finally letting go, only to grab her head, something she does when she's confused and scared.
Adonis will know Mabel thought.
Liam looked down sadly.
"LM... you have been asleep for a week, Adonis was ordered by the council to leave yesterday, he should be in England by now...", Liam said, his mood dropping as he saw Mabels face fall.

No no no no no Mabel thought, ya know what? I'm a Luna. Just as important as an Alpha. Take control of the situation Mabel, be the Luna.
"L-lee listen t-to me. I n-need you t-to get him o-on the ph-phone, quickly. T-there's g-going to be a-an att-attack." Mabel said calmly, lifting herself from the bed and pacing in front of Liam.
Liam stands there staring at Mabel as she relays the information.
"Now Liam, I want it done now. Also get me all of the pack warriors outside the pack house and double the perimeter guards." Mabel ordered, giving Liam such a stern look he could have sworn it was Adonis talking instead of Mabel.
He nodded quickly and ran from the room, eager to do as he was told.
He almost chuckled at the ironic ness of this situation. Here they were as as their parents did god knows what, doing their jobs when they were just 13.
Back in the room Mabel begins to freak out.
How is she going to pull this off?
***
Adonis POV
He felt sick.
He felt sick when the council ordered him away. Technically they shouldn't have any control over him, but he was 13 and yet to become an alpha so they had the authority to send him away if they wanted to.
He felt sick when he was near Mabel, who had been unconscious the last time he saw her, dark eye bags growing under her eyes.
He had touched her cheek and kissed her forehead and left. He hadn't even said goodbye.
He was unable to say goodbye because it felt too formal, too real.
He had left Liam as her bodyguard, knowing he would be a better pick than anyone.
He couldn't help but think he was wrong when a woman at the hotel he was staying at handed him a phone saying a "Liam was on the other end".
He prayed he was wrong and Liam was doing amazingly.
"What is it Liam? Is Mabel alright?" Adonis asked, he knew Mabel was okay due to the mate bond but since she has yet to receive her wolf he couldn't fully feel her emotions. However he could feel his heart race from time to time which has had him slightly frustrated.
"Alpha she- and then- she said Nicholas- and I- then she said- after I then she- and then she ordered me to call you and double perimeter guards and I'm kind of scared" Liam rushed causing Adonis to sigh from the very little words he caught.
"Say that but slower."
"Alpha, she woke up about half an hour ago and started shouting a guy called Nicholas' name and I was all like "who's Nicholas" in my tough voice and then she said stuff about how he looks like ye and how she wanted you and and I said you were gone then she went crazy nut psycho and ordered me to call you and double perimeter guards. She's saying there's going to be an attack Donny." Liam repeated slower, trying to remember every detail.
Adonis narrowed his eyes as he stared at the wall trying to think about why his mate was acting so weird.
"Put her on the phone"
With that he heard Liam panting and muffled sounds before he heard the beautiful sound of his mates voice.
"Addie?" Her voice whispered through the line, bringing tears to Adonis' eyes.
"Baby? Are you okay? What happened?" He said gently trying his hardest not to cry at the sound of her voice.
"Y-you sa-said to c-call if I'm i-in trou-trouble." She said, still whispering as if someone else was listening.
"Trouble? Amabilis why would you be in trouble?" He asked her.
"Addie t-they're com-coming to ge-get me, Ni-Nicholas sa-said so" she replied, trying to give him information.
"Nicho-? Who the fuck is Nicholas and why is he telling you you're in danger?", Adonis asked, sensing Excors rise in his head at the thought of both a boy near Mabel and a threat.
"H-he's on-only seven and h-his mom-momma, H-his momma som-somethings wro-wrong with h-his momma" Mabel spoke absently as if in a trance.
"Mabel what has this got to do with you?" Adonis asks, worried now that Mabel isn't acting like her usual bubbly self.
"She's h-hurt. S-she's hu-hurt I think. He sai-said I would g-get hu-hurt. Addie h-he s-said I wo-would be ta-taken." Mabel says, her voice going blank before it started to waver to signify her tears.
"Taken? Taken where? Why are you going to be taken?!" Adonis asks, already booking a flight home. Screw the council, if his mate is in any type of danger then he was coming home.
"T-three years. He's a p-prophet. He s-said I-I'm i-in trou-trouble Ad-Addie and he's a p-prophet."
"Baby you aren't going to die, don't think like that. I'm on my way back home okay? I'm on my way back. I love you okay? A lot." He says, trying to distract her from the situation at hand.
"Addie h-he s-said. I-I dou-doubled the perimeter g-guards. What if the-they ge-get to me? A-Addie am I g-going to d-die?", Mabel whimpers, beginning to cry as Adonis' heart clenches in his chest.
"No you aren't. You aren't going to die."
"What I-if I'm t-taken b-by the vamp-vampires like Atia? Poor A-atia."
"Baby listen you aren't going to be taken, I'm going to get on a plane and be on my way back in half an hour, I'll be by your side by tomorrow morning okay?"
"They'll j-just ma-make you le-leave again, but you c-can't. I l-love y-you okay? I l-love you v-very ve-very much my honey."
"I love you too my Bee. I will make sure I become Alpha sooner rather than later. Don't worry my love, everything will be okay, just stay near Liam at all times okay?"
"O-oka-" she was cut off.
"LUNA GET DOWN" a voice yelled as an explosion sounded over the phone.
Adonis' heart drops to his stomach and his face pales.
"Mabel?" He whispers, an ache growing at the side of his head as his wolf begins to growl.
"A-Addie help"
Then the line went dead.
