So far, there's been no signs of the illness for me. But I still stay in my own corner in the kids quarantine room, reading a book about the alien apocalypse.
"How do you think the world will end?" I asked my friend Mia.
She thought about it for a moment. "In flames," She glanced at my curious expression. "In my church, the bible said the world first ended in water—floods and that's where the Noah's ark story comes from—and it only makes sense that the world will end in fire."
I nodded. "Makes sense." I agreed. "I think aliens will come. This one trilogy by Rick Yancy has got me convinced how aliens should be like when we all die because of them."
Zaylee sits down next to me. "Hi..." She pauses. "My mom's dead." I stare at her, alarmed. "Someone killed her and a few others diagnosed with the illness and burned their bodies."
"I—I'm so sorry, Zay..." I whisper and she shakes her head.
"Nothing for you to be sorry about." Zaylee sighs. "I'm the one who just came up and said it just for the hell of it—just so I can just tell someone. And just so you know, I returned your drawings to your cell." I keep staring at her. "I found them in the hall one day—I thought Carl would know who it belonged to. When I showed them to him he thought I drew them.
