《Mending the Battle Wounds (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 24

"So before my best friend gets murdered by his siblings, can we actually hang out? Or did you come over here just to bicker in our kitchen?" Shinso said, finally catching Izuku's attention.
"Oh crud, yeah we can hang out Shin, sorry." Izuku said a bit sheepishly. He had almost forgotten why he had snuck out in the first place.
"And what the hell are we supposed to do? As soon as your psychopath of a sister sees us, we're dead." Katsuki pointed out.
"Just stay with me, I'll protect you from the little girl, Kacchan." Izuku said, his tone light and teasing. It managed to make Shoto smile, and Shinso laugh.
"Ha! 2-A are scared of little girls!" Monoma mocked.
"You're not? Have you seen Himiko Toga? She'd gut you before you could blink, copy cat." Izuku said harshly. He could tease class 2-A and his own sister all he wanted, but the second someone else tried, he'd shut them down. They might be idiots, but god damn it they were his idiots at that point.
"Oh shit, you're the villain kids, right? The ones everyone's been freaking out about?" Kendo piped up. It wasn't an accusing tone, just curious. She trust the judgement of the teachers and if they were willing to give the villains a second chance, who was she to argue?
"Yeah, got a problem with it?" Izuku asked suspiciously. His family had been berated for to much over the three weeks they were at the school, he was keeping his guard up.
"Oh not at all, just making sure I can keep this one in line." She said, pointing a thumb in Monoma's direction. "Welcome to UA." She added with a smile.
Izuku hesitantly smiled back, unsure if she was being genuine or not. "Thanks..."
"Okay, I'm stealing him now. See ya." Shinso said, grabbing Izuku's arm and pulling him to the elevators.
"Hey, fuck you. We're coming with." Katsuki said grumpily as he and Shoto followed after them.
"You know, when I asked to hang out, I didn't think you'd bring your guard dogs with." Shinso commented lightly as they all stepped onto the elevator.
"Trust me, not guard dogs. If anyone gets that title it's Dabi and Shigaraki." Izuku said, thinking back to what happened with Katsuki at the beginning of the week. He wasn't the only one thinking about it. Katsuki subconsciously rubbed his, now healed, nose.
"Oh really? Not Toga?" Shinso asked back with amusement clear in his tone. He didn't know about what had happened, so he didn't get the underlying meaning behind Izuku's words.
Izuku seemed to be lost in thought, not even realizing what he was saying. "She wasn't the one who tried to bash Kacchan's face in."
"Huh?" Shinso asked bewildered.
Katsuki groaned, knowing that the purple haired boy would never let him forget the fact he had actually gotten his ass handed to him, even if it was voluntary.
"Nothing." He hissed.
Shinso seemed to connect the dots. Katsuki hadn't gone to Recovery Girl until later in the school day for his injuries, so a lot of kids noticed the black eye and busted lip. "No shit, they didn't have a scratch on them. Did you even fight back?" He asked with a sarcastic laugh.

"No." Katsuki admitted, beyond caring.
Shinso was definitely not expecting that answer and stayed quiet, unsure of what to say.
Thankfully the elevator dinged a few seconds later, letting them all out of the small and tense metal box.
"Thank God, it was starting to get awkward." Shoto stated.
"God fucking damn it, half and half." Katsuki groaned, realizing he had still not learned how to read the room.
"Shoto, seriously." The duel haired boy insisted, getting fed up with the nicknames.
"Fuck off." Katsuki mumbled.
Shinso just led the way to his dorm, ignoring the light bickering from the other two. Izuku was following close to him, excited to see his friends dorm.
"Wow, you're so boring." He mused as he looked at the plain looking room.
"Thanks Izuku, really. Compliments from you just always seem to brighten my day." Shinso said sarcastically as he watched the green haired boy flop onto his bed with a small bounce.
"It's probably because I'm a ray of fucking sunshine." Izuku said, resting his elbows under him so he could prop himself up and look at the three other boys.
"How long before they think to look here?" Shinso asked, knowing it wouldn't take long for Izuku's siblings to find him at Shinso's dorm.
"Not sure. It really just depends on if they ask Shigaraki for help. He's probably the only one who would think to look-"
"Izuku Midoriya, you are in so much trouble mister!" Toga shouted, barging into Shinso's dorm, followed by Dabi, Shigaraki and Twice.
"Just let the kid breath." Ah Twice.
"Grounded for til college!" Also Twice.
"For til college?!" Izuku exclaimed, playing along.
"No, we are not doing this! You are not weaseling your way out of trouble by playing the iCarly card." Toga said stubbornly as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Awe, not even a little bit?" Izuku asked with puppy dog eyes.
"No! You snuck out. Worse than that, you jumped off your balcony!" She said sternly. She had nearly had a heart attack when she saw that he was no longer in his dorm and the doors to his balcony were wide open.
"Actually, he didn't. I made an ice ramp." Shoto cut in.
"Stay out of it halfie." Toga shot him down quickly.
"Degrading nicknames? That's my thing, back the fuck off." Katsuki scowled, secretly just not wanting anyone else to use something so close to his own nickname for the half and half teen.
"Watch it, unless you want another black eye." Dabi said, not liking the tone Katsuki took with his adoptive sister.
Izuku rushed off the bed, getting in between the two boys he sort of- kind of- might have had- a little- itty bitty- crush on and his siblings. "No one is giving anyone another black eye." He said, shooting glares directed at his two brothers.
"I have been trapped in that little dorm room all week. Kacchan and Shoto were the only two people I had seen besides you four, I was going crazy and me and crazy don't mix nicely. I needed fresh air and I dragged both of them into it. Don't get snappy with them when they were doing what I asked." He explained. The last thing he needed was the two boys getting blamed for something else they didn't do.

"I'm actually the one who asked if he wanted to hang out, so be mad at me." Shinso said with a shrug. Sure he was fairly close with the other villains, but Izuku was really his only friend of the group, so if they all hated him after today he wouldn't cry himself to sleep over it.
"God damn it, we don't care who did what. We just want Izuku back in his dorm." Shigaraki said with an annoyed sigh.
"No way in hell." Izuku stated firmly. He had been out of that room for no more than twenty minutes and he wasn't going back anytime soon.
"Izuku-"
"No! Seriously, I'm not going back. If you're trying to protect me, keep me sane or happy, or some other thing, keeping me locked up in a room for twenty four hours a day isn't going to accomplish it." Izuku fought. "If anything, it's gonna make me want to kill myself more." He mumbled.
"I'm sorry, what?" Shoto asked, seeming to be the only one in the room who had heard him.
"Nothing, I didn't actually mean it." Izuku said with a tired eye roll. "I'm saying hypothetically. And just so you know, anything times zero is still zero." He sassed.
"Fine, you don't have to be locked up in your room. You can go anywhere you want," Dabi said with a casual shrug. Izuku's eyes lit up at him finally caving. "As long as those two aren't with you." He finished.
"Excuse me?" Izuku reeled.
Toga's face had softened as Izuku looked like he had been slapped across the face. "We just think that they aren't the best people to be around. You were fine, you were happy, until you starting spending so much time with them." She explained.
"You think... you think Kacchan and Shoto are the reasons I tried to jump off the roof of the gym?!" Izuku exclaimed.
"You did what?" Shinso asked, not having heard anything about the incident. He just figured Izuku had gotten into a fight or something and that was why he was under room arrest.
"Sh." Shoto shushed.
"But he-"
"Not now." Shoto said, waving off the lavender haired boy.
"It's not like he hasn't told you to jump before." Dabi said, looking directly at an uncomfortable Katsuki.
"Oh my fucking god." Izuku said, looking up at the ceiling with one of those pissed off sort of smiles. "It was middle school. He's apologized, multiple times. He's been working his ass off for the past three weeks to make up for it. He. let. you. bet. the. shit. out. of. him." He over emphasized. "Last time I checked, I'm the one who gets to decided when he's been through enough and guess what? I've forgiven him already, so back the fuck off." He said, getting worked up. Sometimes he wasn't the best at controlling his temper and when that happened, his quirk as well.
"Izuku, you need to calm down." Toga said slowly. She had her hands out in front of her as she backed up a little bit. She wasn't scared he'd lash out at her or anything, she was more worried about the damaged he'd do to himself.
"Fuck off." He growled, trying to take deep breaths and get the green lightening to fade.
Having already dealt with this situation before, Shoto was quick to help. He gently grabbed Izuku's hand and with his other, he lifted his chin so he was looking at his multicolored eyes. "Deep breaths Izu, remember we can't use a fire extinguisher for you." He said lightly.
Izuku's grip on Shoto's hand tightened, almost painfully. He was focusing all of his attention of the steel grey and icy blue eyes staring back at him. Somewhere in the room, he could hear voices and small explosions, but it was all background noise to him. The only thing that was coming in clear, was Shoto's voice.
"Good job, just keep breathing." Shoto cooed, running out of things to say. He wasn't gifted in the form of words and it was showing. Coming to a last resort, he grabbed Izuku's free hand and brought it to his own chest, resting over his heart. "Feel my heart beat? Focus on that, okay?" He instructed. Izuku weakly nodded, closing his eyes tightly while he fixated all his attention on the feeling of Shoto's heart.
Somehow the duel haired boy had managed to keep the rate from rising. He had no clue how.
Slowly Izuku calmed down, his quirk subsiding until it was fully shut off. He took a finally breath before opening his eyes and looking over Shoto's shoulder, to where his siblings were fighting with Katsuki.
"You're pissing him off, just fucking leave." Katsuki said aggressively.
"We're not leaving him here with you two." Dabi shot back.
"You wound me big brother, really." Shoto said monotone voice as he turned with Izuku's hand still clutched in his.
Dabi was a bit taken aback by how casually Shoto seemed to acknowledge their relation. He was stunned silent for a few seconds.
"Well you're not separating me for them either." Izuku spoke up, leaning into Shoto's side for support. The taller teen could not have even tried to fight off the faint smile at the action.
"Give me one good reason why." Dabi asked, snapping out of his mental pity party from thinking back to Shoto.
"I'm not leaving my boyfriends anytime soon." Izuku said, honestly just wanting to piss his siblings off as much as possible.
"Boyfriends?!" Toga.
"Oh hell no." Dabi.
"What?!" Shigaraki.
"That's adorable!" "You are not thirty yet!" Take a guess at who.
"Excuse me?" Shinso.
"Huh?" Katsuki.
"I have absolutely, no complaints." Shoto said casually.
"Um guys, I think this is where we run." Izuku said as Dabi cracked his knuckles.
Seconds later, Izuku was dragging Katsuki and Shoto down the stairs of 2-B's dorm building, four villains chasing after them.

Witch Hunt plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This is the second part of the adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt, as such I recommend reading part one, titled "The Hand of Sigmar" first. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
