~ Time Jump - Two Months Later ~
"Are you sure you wanna go through with this?" Garrett asked me curiously before he took a sip of his sweet tea. "Yeah, absolutely. I want to live my life the way I want to. It's time I moved out of my parent's house." I replied. "You do need a place of your own, that way you can hangout with Mr. Brown Eyes more," He said with a smirk. "Oh, shut up." I said with a slight laugh. "Hell, when I come back to college next year I could just stay with you instead of signing up for a dorm room." He said with last part as a joke, but I wouldn't mind that. I can only imagine how stressful living in a dorm can be; I know I wouldn't be able to do it. We were sitting in my room searching for ads in the papers for houses and apartments that are up for rent. A couple of them looked pretty good, so I wrote down the information. The plan was that he and I were gonna call the ones we found and ask if we could take a tour of the place. Hopefully they were able to let us see the place as soon as possible. "How is Mr. Brown Eyes? I haven't seen him roaming the halls, not like he roams the halls much." He said as his eyes scanned the page that laid in front of him. "He's good. We stopped hugging on campus in fear of getting caught. I don't want him getting fired, and if I get kicked out of college my parents will have a cow." I said as I turned a page in the paper I was looking at. "Well, when you get your own place you two can do whatever you want together. Just make sure you use protection." He said, and I punched his arm playfully. We both laughed and that was something I needed. I needed a little more laughter in my life right now. My parents are still pissed at me for not giving that stuck up business type of guy a chance, so my home life was a little hostile. The only reason Garrett was over is because my parents were on a weekend business trip. It's the first weekend I've had to myself in a long time, and I was grateful for it. Everything in college was going great at the moment, even though I haven't had the chance to really spend time with Johnny lately. I've just been filling up my free time with reading and hanging out with Garrett. 'I wonder what my parents will think when I tell them I'm moving out?' I wondered inside of my head. 'They'll probably be even more disappointed in you. And when they find out that you're dating Johnny they'll most likely disown you.' My subconscious replied. "I think that's enough looking for one day. How about we order a pizza and watch a couple movies?" I said as I sat my newspaper to the side. "I couldn't agree more. I'm starving." He said with a smile on his face. We walked downstairs and he went into the living room to pick out some movies. I ordered a pizza and then popped some popcorn while we waited on the delivery man to show up. We ended up watching all of the Halloween movies and a few Tim Burton movies as well. The pizza I ordered was amazing, but it might have been because I was starving. Like an idiot I didn't eat anything all day; I was way too worried about all the exams in my classes. It's like every teacher you have gets together and schedules a test on the same day or in the same week. Around eleven thirty we decided to call it a night, especially since we wanted to wake up a little early. Eleven is a little late at night, but I'm actually use to it. I wasn't sure if Garrett was use to it or not, but I guess I'd find out. He decided to slept on the couch, so I grabbed a pillow and a blanket for him. After we cleaned everything up, we said goodnight to each other. I shut my bedroom door and changed into my pajamas before I climbed into bed. Before I forgot I set an alarm on my phone to wake me up at seven o'clock. I ended up falling into a deep sleep pretty quickly, which is unusual for me. The annoying sound of my alarm went off, and it sort of made me upset. I was having such a sweet dream about Johnny, and the alarm had to go and wake me up. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes before I shut the alarm off. As I got out of bed I stretched a little and walked into my bathroom to relive my bladder. I decided to take a quick shower and then got ready for the day. I picked out a Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt, a pair of ripped black jeans, my converse, and a black and white striped jacket. Once I was dressed I put my phone in my pocket along with my car keys and headed downstairs to wake Garrett up. The sight I saw when I walked into the living room almost made me burst out in laughter. He was laying on the couch in a strange twisted position that I've never seen before. It was hard to believe anyone could sleep like that and not have back pain in the morning. His loud snoring was just icing on the cake. "Garrett, wake up. It's time to get ready." I said, shaking him slightly. He groaned and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. "Crap." He mumbled. "Go take a shower and get ready. I'll make us some breakfast before we head out." I said, and he groaned again in response. He slowly got up and I walked into the kitchen. As I grabbed the eggs and bacon out of the fridge, I decided to call those numbers I wrote down last night. I really hoped at least one real estate agent would be willing to give us a tour of a house or an apartment. To my surprise, three out of four of them said we could meet up with them today. I made sure to meet them all in a good time frame that worked for all of us. At ten o'clock we were supposed to meet the first one, which gave us plenty of time. I finished cooking breakfast by the time Garrett walked into the room. He looked better now that his hair was combed and everything, but he still looked like death warmed over. "Here, get some coffee in you. We have to meet a real estate agent at ten o'clock." I said as I poured him a cup of coffee. He took it and sipped greedily from the cup. I poured a cup for me before I filled our plates and joined him at the table. "What else are we going to do today?" He asked through a mouthful of scrambled eggs. "Well, we could just cruise around a bit. Maybe check out that new record store that opened up downtown." I suggested, and he seemed game for it. After we finished eating I washed the dishes while he brushed his teeth; I brushed my teeth as well, and then headed out to my car. I made sure to lock the place up before we left. Garrett turned the radio on, and my favorite Twenty One Pilots song came on. "I look outside, and see a whole world better off without me in it trying to transform it." He and I sang at the same time. We sang a few songs as we drove into town, and we ended up making it at our destination with a few minutes to spare. The real estate agent met up with us in the apartment complex lobby, and she seemed pretty nice. I made sure to ask plenty of questions in hopes of making a good impression. The apartment look okay, but I knew I had plenty of other places to look at today. "So, which place did you like the most?" Garrett asked me curiously. After the first house we looked at we checked out the new record store. Garrett ended up finding a few records he wanted, and I bought a couple of t-shirts. Then we grabbed a bit to eat for lunch at my favorite little cafe. We met up with the other real estate agents before we drove around and goofed off at Wal-Mart for a bit. "I loved the last one." I replied with a smile. "I figured you would." He replied with a smile. The house was on the opposite side of town, which made it a little secluded than the house I currently live in. I've always loved the cabin in the woods vibe, and it had that feeling even if it wasn't a cabin. It was an old Victorian styled home, but it was in very good condition and the landlady seemed wonderful. She sort of reminded me of Mrs. Hudson from the Sherlock tv series; she's British too, which is a plus. Everything about that place matched my exact idea of a dream home, and I had all intentions of moving into the place. A water came up to us and asked for our orders. Once we told him what we wanted we were left alone once more. "How are you going to afford it though?" He asked me curiously before taking a drink of his coke. "My great grandfather left all of his money to me when he passed away. Now that I'm turning twenty one in a few weeks I'll be able to benefit from it. And besides, I'll be looking for a job anyway." I replied before I took a drink of my Dr. Pepper. "Do you think your parents will let you have the money?" He asked with a worried look on his face. "They legally have to give me the money, Garrett. If they don't they can get into a lot of trouble." I said, but I understood what he meant. After we ate our dinner we drove over to the park to watch the sunset and relax. The November chill was finally settling in, but it wasn't that much different that the October chill. Before long it'll be December and snow will start falling from the sky. But at the moment, I just wanted to enjoy the lingering fall atmosphere and the blood orange sunset. "When you move out and get everything organized... what's the first thing you're gonna do?" He asked me curiously. "I'm gonna throw a housewarming party, and I hope the weather holds out so I can do what I have in mind." I replied. "Let me know when you're gonna start planning it; I'll help you out if you need anything, and that goes with the moving part as well." He said kindly. I thanked him for wanting to help me move and everything. I'm sure Johnny would probably be willing to help me as well once I tell him about everything. I just hoped my parents wouldn't cause an uproar when I break the news to them.
