, the navy blue suitcase I was using sat on my bed. My shoes were in another bag and any other belongings were in a third. I wasn't taking everything with me, I had no need to.
Before zipping up the suitcase full of clothing items, I stopped, just standing beside my bed and looked down at the wrinkled duvet. I was in deep thought, still debating whether this would be worth it or if I should stay.
I was pulled from my thoughts when Hayley's voice rung through my ears from her spot in my open doorway. "You don't want to leave, do you?"
I said nothing.
"I don't want you to leave." She continued, her voice sounding stuffy and blocked. "I bet Bucky and Sam don't want you to either. So, please, Eris. Stay."
I took a deep breath, zipping up the suitcase and standing it beside me. I turned to face Hayley. "I can't. It's for your safety."
"I helped you and the Avengers take down Ultron, so don't be talking about 'my safety' now." Hayley's tone became strict. "Bucky and Sam are trying to stop the Flag Smashers and your here trying to run away because, what? Because you nearly killed someone that, may I add, no one likes!"
I stared back at Hayley with eyes that were threatening to pour tears. I went to speak but stopped, swallowed and then spoke. "I felt myself become something I never wanted to. Something my father had always warned me about, a thing I'd always feared."
"You can't leave. I wont let you. You are not whatever your father told you, you would become. You said so yourself that he was always full of bullshit." Hayley ranted, sadness and anger taking over her tone. "So why would you start listening to him now?"
I sighed, turning my back to Hayley so I was now facing the suit that hung by my window. My eyes scanned it, up and down, whilst I sucked on the inside of my cheek in thought and nervousness.

A lockdown was put in place at the GRC meeting in Lower Manhattan, where Karli and the Flag Smashers were planning to stop the GRC's vote on global resettlement.
I flew around the building, slowing down by one set of windows where I could see two men fighting. I noticed one to be Sam and the other Batroc. Crashing through the window, I went feet first into Batroc who had Sam pinned down and I managed to make him go flying across the room.
Bending over to help Sam up, I took note of his new outfit. Blue, white and red. He also held the Shield in one hand.
"Nice suit, Captain." I complimented him.
"Thanks. I thought you were off to New Asgard."
"Eh," I tilted my head, "my homes here."
Just then, as Sam and I were sharing a smile, Batroc came running through, charging straight for us like a rhino. Fortunately, Sam held his shield out, forcing Batroc to roll past us and land against some chairs with a crash and a groan.
"Go and find Bucky, I reckon he could use some extra help." Sam told me before turning to Batroc."Au revoir." He said before we both went for the windows, taking off in the sky.
I flew around the area in a sort of panicked state, looking for Buck. After a short while, large orange flames caught my attention from an alleyway road. As I got closer, I saw Bucky trying hard to pull open a truck door with people screaming from inside.
Diving down and landing beside him, I placed my hands on the handles with him, pulling. Neither of us looked to or greeted each other, focusing on the situation at hand.
"Morganthau!" The sound of John Walker echoed down the road as he neared but I never gave him a single look.
Eventually, the handle and lock broke, making me slightly loose my balance at the sudden release of tension and force but I managed to regain it, helping the people out with Bucky as John and Karli had a their own scrap.

I spared Walker a quick glance, seeing him be beaten up by a couple Flag Smashers on the floor with nothing but his 5 minute craft shield to protect him. I grunted before stalking over to them, Bucky still helping escort the people out, placing a firm grip on one Flag Smashers shoulders and throwing them behind me, crashing into a concrete road block.
I then went to deal with one of the others that was beating John, grabbing him with one hand and punching him multiple times with the other before he was out cold. As I started with another one, Bucky came to help. He fought with one for a short while before Karli came over, swinging a parking meter at him.
From lack of attention, the Flag Smashed was able to kick me back, sending me crashing into some scaffolding which broke at my force, making it come crashing down. Luckily, I was able to roll forward, only just escaping. Kneeling on one knee with my hands on the ground supporting me, I formed a blade. I was glaring up at the Super Soldier.
I heard a deep scream as Bucky went falling into a construction site, a Flag Smasher hot on his tail.
Laying my focus back to the one I was with, I charged at him, my knife in hand and swinging towards him. We both threw punches and kicks and, after some time, he was able to snatch my knife from me.
He jolted towards me, knocking me down and hovering over me. I let my wings out again, trying to fly away from under his heavy weight but he placed a firm foot on them, stopping them from moving.
He brought the knife to my torso, readying to stab me in the chest but the knife was budged when he was grabbed back by John who was then pulled back into another fight with Karli. I let out a cry as the knife had still penetrated my skin but not where the Flag Smasher initially intended.
Karli got back into the second truck one she'd dealt with Walker and began driving off. I pushed myself up with a fair amount of difficulty from bleeding out quite a bit and stumbled after her, begging for my wings to strengthen again and work.
Karli leapt out the truck, letting it continue on its own with hostages still inside. It crashed through a thin wall, balancing but tipping off an edge, threatening to fall into the construction sight Bucky had fallen into.
John arrived, gripping his head and looking from the truck to Karli before throwing his DIY Shield and grabbing for the truck, trying to pull it back up with his super soldier strength. I stumbled forward to him, grabbing the other door handle and pulling back.
A group of Flag Smashers jumped us, making the two of us loose our grip and the lot of us went tumbling through the metal scaffolding with scream coming from both John and I. My wings finally decided to come out, saving me from a rough landing but not the others.
Just as I went to fly up to catch the truck as it fell further, Sam flew in, wings spread and the shield on his back as he used all his power to push up the truck. He used red wing to help and Bucky and I made our way to Walker, helping him up before our shocked attention was back on Sam. Or I should say, Captain America.
Once the truck was stable again, the crowd that had formed was cheering with their phones out recording as Sam hovered in their sight. The biggest grin formed on my face as I looked up at him, letting out a small happy laugh and a relieved sigh.
