《Naruto's sister Akari Uzumaki》ch 5 Past

I turned around and sent a kunai through the chest of an Iwa ninja. I jump back and kick two others in the neck knocking then out. With my two hunting knives, I strike 4 others in the chest.
I pant as the energy I've used catches up to me. This was supposed to be a C ranked mission, but the other side hired S-class and jonin level ninjas, along with bandits.
My teammates are 8 years older than me but they treat me like a friend. They both look as if they are about to fall over. Our Jonin sensei is missing and we have been fighting for at least 3 days.
My shadow clones are starting to disappear and I am starting to get tired.
" Wind Release: Gale Palm" I yell out and take down 5 other bandits.
I hear a grunt behind me and I turn around.
My eyes widen and tears burn my eyes. Kai our long-range support and genjutsu type is on his knees, a katana went through him the second I looked back.
" Kai!" I hear my other teammate yells out. Her name is Mira, and in that second I knew that she was dead. She got distracted, that got her killed.
I make the tears in my eyes blink away and continue to fight.
At the age of 6 I lost my teammates. I'm alone. In the middle of an enemy group. Then everything disappears.
I am in my mindscape. It looks like the middle of the sea, no land in sight. the sky is red dawn and the Kuybi has a collared chain keeping him in place.
" Don't come near me! If you release me you know you'll die" He growls and I don't respond. This is the third time I have met him. Yet this is the first time I am considering releasing him. I can't feel anything, even as my legs begin to move towards the collar.

I am suddenly pulled back. I close my eyes as I feel myself bump against a woman's chest.
She had straight brown hair, which was cut in a chin-length bob that framed her face, and brown eyes. She also had a rectangular purple marking on either side of her cheeks. She wore a long-sleeved black top and a light purple apron-skirt, under which she wore black shorts. She also wore the standard Konoha, along with a pair of sandals, red stockings that stopped at her thighs.
She looked as if she were in her late teens or early 20's.
She looked at me with a face of pity as she helped me stand up.
" No matter what has or will happen you shouldn't cave in to your emotions. What will your teammates think if they saw you now?" She asked me softly, her brown eyes peering into my blue ones.
I want to cry. Scream. Get back into the real world and destroy everything, yet this girl gave off an aura of comfort.
That's when I actually realized who she was.
" I know you, your Rin Nohara. Papa's student, but you're supposed to be dead." I tell her and she laughs.
" Just like a your father huh. There is no time for that, Go back to the real world, I've helped you out a bit" She answered and I return to the real world.
My injuries and exhaustion are gone. I take my knives and continue to fight. My moves are stronger and faster than before.
Still I am overpowered and outnumbered. Heat pours into my stomach near my seal and pain flashes above my seal, as chains emerged from my stomach. They are covered in a golden light and the tips are shaped like a kunai.

They float there for a second until they straighten and stab through the chest of the enemy ninja.
I feel faint as I sink to my knees. The chakra that took was nearly a third of my nearly empty reserve.
Someone stands over me and I instantly see their leaf headband. I see their silver hair right before I blackout and enter my mindscape.
" Don't bring her here! She needs rest" I hear Rin yell out and the Kuybi shuffles.
Then darkness envelops me again.
I enter my mindscape for a second time.
" How are you feeling," Rin asks me and I struggle to sit up.
" Tired, but fine" I answered and Rin looks at me with a soft are you sure look.
" She's been sleeping for 4 days she should be fine" the Kuybi grumbles and I shoot up.
" 4 days" I ask faintly and Rin looks at me sadly.
" The silver-haired brat found you and took you back to Konoha" the Kuybi states and I stand up.
" My team," I ask looking up, and the Kuybu looks away while tears fill Rin's eyes.
" I'm sorry sweetheart," She tells me and silent tears fall down my face. Rin hugs me as I begin to shake.
" When can I wake up?" I ask my voice horse and the Kuybi looks up from his paws.
" You took quite a beating, its thanks to me and the female brat that you are still alive" the Kyubu states hesitantly.
" How you were able to fight with broken ribs, and a punctured lung is beyond me" Rin put in and my eyes widened.
" Your body isn't ready for you to wake up, so you were sent here until you are." Kyubi continues and I nod.
" Will it always hurt?" I ask and Kuybi and Rin share a look.
" It will dull but it will always be there" she states and I nod again.
" Why are you in my mind," I ask and Rin smiles.
" Well when I was dying your dad found me and sealed my chakra and soul. He spent 2 years trying to find a way to save me. Then when the man in the mask killed them, he sealed the kuybi into you and your brother. He wanted someone to protect you since he and your mom will be sealed into your brother so he added my seal into the seal that keeps the Kuybi here" She explains and I grin at her. But at the same time, I can't stop the small stab of betrayal, in my heart, saying that they chose my brother over me.
Then something struck me.
" Hey Kuybi what's your name?" I ask and he freezes.
" What do you mean?" He asks his voice slightly stained.
" Well unless your father wasn't as creative as I have hoped he didn't name you Kuybi did he?" I ask slightly scared that I had offended him. So it shocks me when he laughs.
" It's Kurama" He replies and I beam back at him and Rin.
Then light breaks my vision and I find myself in a hospital.
" Welcome back" a voice states from the door and I look to see Asuma leaning against the door.
A week later a funeral was held for my team.
A week after that I met Naruto and in that second I knew why my parents chose to seal themselves in him. Because he is the light among the darkness.

He thought that would never get the chance to defend the village from the spike feeders, the deadly creatures jutting out with hazardous spikes haphazardly all over. Only predator beast souls were given the requisite training and allowed to join the village guard. Perry just didn't meet their criteria. He was also wrong.Soon Perry will live out his wildest dreams and more, as he scales the rankings of beast soul mastery, fights innumerable dangerous spike feeders and solves mysteries related to the origin of beast souls and spike feeders. And maybe, just maybe, he'll even get to join the city guard. Genre-wise, Mortal Mewling is a GameLit story (light on the GameLit) focused on action and adventure. The Gore tag is there more as a precaution, rather than a promise to keep producing gory words. Mortal Mewling is a bit of a slow burn in terms of start, scale and capacity of the protagonist.
