Third Person's POV
It wasn't that easy raising a three year old kid on his own, still, Liam tried his best. Niall was his sole reason for living his harsh and lonely life. He's the only streak of sunshine that illuminates the dark reality. Whenever he hears Niall's giggle, he feels like nothing could ever go wrong. In a way, his baby is protecting him, when it should be the other way around. Niall just provided the feeling of serenity and optimism in Liam's heart, and the boy still couldn't even speak properly yet, which made Liam adore him even more.
There is this part of the day when a smile forms on his face and the cause of it, surprisingly, wasn't solely Niall. Liam works in a day care where he could both watch Niall and get paid at the same time, it was a win win situation really. Zayn Malik. The only character that Liam allowed himself to interact with after his girlfriend abandoned him and Niall. Something about his eyes and exquisite nature drew Liam in, but he didn't allow himself to develop more than friendly feelings towards the black haired boy. That, Liam learned, proved to be a hard task, for it was hard not to fall for a guy like Zayn. He was handsome, sweet, caring, a good friend, and overall perfect. Yet, Liam forbade himself to love anyone else. He was dedicated to Niall, and Niall only; and partially because he wanted to protect himself. He didn't want to be left heartbroken once more. He knew that if the blow came from Zayn, it would be much worse than how it was from his ex-girlfriend.
Zayn had similar thoughts to Liam. But unlike the doe eyed beauty, he allowed himself to fall for Liam's remarkable charm, and he fell hard. He always liked the way Liam looked at the three year old bundle of happiness, and his eyes would shine so brightly, it was almost blindingly beautiful.

He wanted to make Liam's eyes shine with happiness and love included. He saw how empty his eyes were as well, void of love and affection, but he was sure that it would look so good on him, and he wanted to be the reason for that.
Zayn wanted to show Liam that he was trustworthy. That he would love him and Niall with all his worth, but he didn't know how to do that.
He loved the small moments where he got to speak to Niall and get to know him better because the boy was the definition of adorable, and maybe because he saw how Liam smiled at their warm interaction.
"Zaynie! Look what I draw!" Niall exclaimed once, as he came running into Zayn's arms.
"What do you have there buddy?" Zayn asked as he took the paper Niall was waving wildly.
Zayn observed the messy lines on the paper. He managed to analyze Niall's formation of a heart and almost cooed at the attempt.
"I wove you Zaynie." And the raven haired boy couldn't hold himself back, he picked up the adorable three year old and hugged him tight to his chest.
"I love you too Nialler..... and your daddy, but don't tell him that." Zayn was unaware of the blushing Liam behind them, and that's how Liam wanted to keep it, so he backed out of the room, and let them be.
Later that night, Liam and Niall were on their way back home, and the blue eyed boy was babbling nonsense to his father, making Liam crack a smile or emit a chuckle then and there.
Zayn didn't know what had gotten into him, but he wanted to follow them home. He watched from afar as Niall's lips moved rapidly and Liam smiled at some bits. The smile was wiped off his face though when he saw a buff man walk up to them and yank Niall away from Liam's arms and push the lad to the floor. His blood boiled and he grabbed Harry's, his best friend, golf bat that he had forgotten in Zayn's car and has yet to retrieve it. He quickly jumped out of his car, and ran towards the man. With one quick swing to the stranger's balls, Zayn grabbed the now sobbing Niall into his arms, and hauled Liam to his feet and ran with them to his car. He quickly sped off when he saw that the, apparently drunk, man had gotten off the floor and was coming their way.

Liam's breaths were still erratic and Niall had managed to cry himself to sleep. Zayn spared Liam several worried glances as he parked his car in Liam's driveway. He quickly jumped out of the car and carried Niall out of the passenger seat softly and carefully, he didn't want to wake him up. Zayn waited patiently as Liam opened the door and went in. He walked into the cozy house and laid Niall's tiny body down on the couch. He made his way to what he assumed was the kitchen because he heard noises coming from there. True to his assumptions, Liam was there, drinking a cup of water as he stared straight ahead, his eyes vacant of any emotion.
Liam had almost lost Niall. He almost lost his own son, and if it weren't for Zayn miraculously showing up, he wouldn't have gotten him back. It was so scary, one second he was smiling at the adorableness that was Niall and in the other Niall was yanked out of his arms. He didn't know what he would've done if the man took Niall. He would've probably became a lost cause.
"Thank you." Liam whispered hoarsely as he turned his attention to Zayn who was watching him quietly.
"Don't thank me, I did what I had to do. It's you and Niall Liam, I wouldn't dare to leave you in a situation like this, even if it meant to risk my life at that." Zayn finished sincerely.
Liam walked over to Zayn and he couldn't help but grab him by the back of his neck and pull him down for a sweet and affectionate kiss.
"I love you too by the way."
It was magical, and Liam had two people who kept him content now instead of one. He couldn't ask for more than that.

Necro-Merchant
What up, it is zewen senpai here, with the first translated work I am attempting. It is a translation of a Chinese online novel named "陰商" (Ying Shang, or Dark Merchant). And looking at the context the story and the multi-meaning of the character "陰," I decided to name it the Necro-Merchant instead. Written by 咸魚君 (Xianyujun) or Mr.Salty Fish in English, the story is about a kid that started selling some eerie items with his cousin, because we be like that in China. Either way, enjoy the story and have a gud day.
