"Ready?" Sapnap said, making Dream jump.
"Jesus Sap! Don't sneak up on me like that!" Dream said as he began to put an assortment of foods into a cooler.
"You need to go get ready."
"Yeah, yeah. You act like it's gonna take me a long time to throw on some swim trunks."
Dream left Sapnap alone in the kitchen as he left to go get ready. Sapnap smiled to himself as he finished filling up the cooler with food for the picnic the boys and Monica were going to have. George didn't know it yet, but Sap and Dream had a few surprises in store for the other two at the lake.
Dream emerged from his room, then looked at Sapnap, confusion written on his face. "Where's George?"
Sapnap rolled his eyes. "He still has not come out of the bathroom."
Dream laughed. "Geez, you would think this is his first date with a pretty, funny, smart girl."
After a few more minutes, George opened the bathroom door. He was dressed in a white, Adidas T-shirt and dark blue shorts.
"Lookin sharp," Sap said. George looked absolutely exhausted.
"George, you look like you got in a car wreck a week ago or something!" Dream said with a slight grin.
"Let's get going," George said, already walking towards the front door. Sapnap and Dream looked at each other, grabbed all of their things, and followed George out to the car.
George was quiet most of the car ride, whether from excitement or nervousness, the other two couldn't tell. Sapnap had insisted that they stop by the florist to pick up some flowers for Monica, especially considering this was George's first date.
When they got to the lake, it was almost noon. George was glancing at his phone anxiously to see if Monica has texted him about her arrival. Dream decided to go ahead and rent kayaks for the day. Even though he had told George that kayaks were only built for two people, the ones he rented held one person each.

Finally, George had gotten the text that Monica had parked and was making her way down towards the lake. George was now fidgeting with his shirt, making sure he looked presentable. He held the flowers behind his back as Monica made her way over to them. Once she was only a few feet away from him, George pulled the small bouquet of forget-me-nots out and held them out for her. She smiled, and gratefully accepted the kind gesture.
As Monica and George began to make their way towards the water, Sapnap and Dream were already setting the kayaks down at the edge of the lake.
"I really hope our plan works," Dream muttered as he fumbled with a yellow kayak.
"Me too," Sapnap giggled as he watched his friend struggle.
Once it was decided who would get what kayak, Sapnap and Dream helped Monica and George into their kayaks. They launched the pair into the water, standing back to watch for a moment as they chatted and rowed away. Once they were a good ways off, Sap and Dream got into their kayaks and began to row around, keeping some distance between themselves and the other pair so that they could enjoy each other's company.
"So how are you feeling today?" Sapnap asked as he rowed along side Dream.
Dream sighed and stared at the water. "Better than last night, that's for sure."
Sapnap tried to study his friend's face for any other answers, but came back empty handed. "Just remember," he said, his voice slightly quiet. "I'm here."
Dream felt reassured by his friend and gave him a quick smile. He then took off across the lake, paddling as fast as his arms could carry him.
"Oh it's on!" Sapnap laughed as he sped after.
Once he had caught up to Dream, Sapnap flopped back in his boat, exhausted from the chase. As he closed his eyes and began to relax, someone let out a bloodcurdling scream for help that rang out across the lake.

Kill 10 Rats
You awake in the middle of an unfamiliar woods with nothing but a knife and a pair of pants. You have no idea where you are, how you got there, or even what your name is. Noob Slayer is an average college student, part time computer repair guy, and a full time gamer. He awakes to find himself in a world he does not understand. Follow him as he explores this new world, looks for answers, and tries to remember his name. Authors Note: This is a side-project I started after being widely stumped trying to write another book. It is my first attempt to actually post something I've written online, but don't be afraid to be brutal. Improving myself is why I wanted to write this in the first place. I know the VRMMO genera is a bit over-done but hopefully it has a few good stories left to tell. Warning: This is written in the first person. Will contain brutal fight-scenes, bad pop-culture references, a ton of MMO-tropes, and possibly some light sex if the MC doesn't screw it up too badly.
