《A Bromance to Remember》Cell Mates

Dream was really surprised to see his friends, but he knew that they weren't here for a rescue.
"How'd you two get caught?" He asked nonchalantly.
"Well, we knocked on the door, some chick let us in, led us here, then locked the door," Sapnap said, looking around the room for any opportunity of escape.
"How did you guys even find me?" Dream asked.
George answered this time. "We tracked the location of your watch from your phone and it led us here."
Dream had completely forgotten about the watch on his wrist. He probably would have noticed it had he not been wearing a long sleeve tee.
During his walk around the room, Sapnap stopped at the bucket of chicken bones sitting on the floor a few feet away from Dream.
"She fed you?" He asked. "Normally, kidnappers are awful to their captives."
Dream shrugged. "Well, normally, the kidnapper isn't a teenage girl who also happens to be our 'biggest fan'."
Sapnap slumped down to the floor next to Dream's chair. "Well... how do we get out?" He asked.
George was still pacing, his mind running a mile a minute. He stopped suddenly, catching both Dream and Sapnap off guard.
"What is it?" Sapnap asked.
"Give me that," George said, pointing towards the KFC bucket.
"George, all that's left is the bones. She'll probably bring you guys food a little bit later," Dream said.
George literally facepalmed at this. "I'm not hungry, you idiot, I'm trying to get us out of here!" He whisper yelled.
Sapnap immediately handed over the bucket. George pulled out the remnants of a drumstick and snapped it down the middle, creating a sharp piece of chicken bone.
Dream's eyes widened. "George, I'm all for getting out of here, but I don't think we should try to kill the girl," Dream said with a nervous laugh.

George rolled his eyes. "God, you guys are much more stupid than I thought. Sadly, killing someone will have to wait for another day," George said as he shoved the chicken bone into the door knob and began to wiggle it around. After a few moments, the door gave and the lock turned. The other two stood up and ran over.
"See? I knew what I was doing," George said, gesturing to his handiwork. He turned the knob, only to have the door not open.
Dream couldn't help but start wheezing. "George you're... *wheeze*... so stupid *wheeze*."
Sapnap was giggling, too. Since George was embarrassed, he decided to act rashly and threw his body at the door in an attempt to break the door open. He heard a crunch, and mentally celebrated until he realized that the crunch was his shoulder, not the door.
He fell back, cradling his hurt shoulder with his opposite hand. This was enough to snap Dream and Sapnap our of their laughing fits.
While Sapnap ran over to help George, Dream proceeded to kick the door open, not hurting himself at all. Sapnap helped George through the doorway as Dream looked down the hall in both directions. He saw no one, and began to make his way towards what looked like could be an exit.
He turned around, however, when he heard Sapnap snap at him. I forgot they walked here, so they know the way out, Dream thought to himself. He followed Sapnap down the hall in the other direction.
They quickly made it to the front door and ran out of the house. Once they were a block away, Dream had his two friends stop so he could look at George's shoulder.
Dream gently placed his hand on George's hurt shoulder. He winced, even though Dream was applying no pressure whatsoever.

"Hold still George, I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with it," Dream said as he pulled his hand away. George nodded, and Dream put his hand back.
He began to gently move his hand around George's shoulder until he felt what was wrong.
He took a deep breath and looked into George's eyes.
"Alright George, I'm gonna go ahead and say it. I'm sorry."
As soon as he said it, Dream pushed down on George's shoulder, causing it to make a loud pop sound. George screamed. Sapnap began to giggle a little bit.
George stood up and pushed Dream with both hands, not even realizing that his shoulder was now fixed.
"What the HELL is wrong with you!" George yelled.
Dream was laughing now too. "Your shoulder... it was... out of socket," he managed to say before dying of laughter again.
George was grateful, but he wasn't letting Dream off the hook just yet.
After giving Dream a good punch to the arm (for payback, of course), the three boys decided to do what they do best:
Go get food and play Minecraft.

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

Shieldmaiden: Unbroken
An instant is all that's needed to change a persons life. A single encounter. A single desire can bring together many people to change the world. One thought. From the moment humanity began its course of self-destruction, there were those who desired to change the world for the better. To stop the harm to their planet, and themselves, a group of people came together and formed a world from their imaginations. They decided that humanity could not be a part of the world they would destroy, and would allow the world to recoup. They would pull the people from their world in groups, and until everyone was gone, every month more people would be brought to this new world. An unfamiliar world. An unfamiliar people. An unfamiliar system. I never expected to write a LITRPG, or an Isekai, and I'm not confident I can do it well, but I liked writing the first chapters, so I'm gonna try my best! Also, I don't recommend reading it on mobile.
