《Mine.》Chapter 32

After my mom told me that story I was desperate to get to Ryder. I needed to tell him it was okay. Right now I needed to speak with Jeremy though for telling mom about Ryder and I. I knew he had just got home with my dad minutes ago.
I burst through his door screaming as I jumped on his figure that was currently laying on his bed. This made him block himself in defense while also screaming.
"Octavia what are you doing!!!" he yelled frantically while I grabbed a pillow from his bed, whacking him with it repeatedly.
"Beating you for telling mom!" I yelled back and hit him again.
Realization seemed to set in as his arm reached for another pillow and whacked me back making me fall. This only angered me, how dare he hit me when it's his fault we're in this fight.
I pushed him off the bed earning a groan from him as a loud thud could be heard, "Octavia!" he yelled again.
I smiled in satisfaction at my action. It was short lived when he pulled the blanket from underneath me. This made me land onto the floor hard face down, that hurt. There will definitely be a bruise.
"Oh shit Octavia I'm sorry I-" he started sincerely.
I quickly cut him off when I grabbed his leg pulling it making him fall again onto the floor, next to me.
"I'm not." I said getting up quickly and watched as he groaned from the hard fall.
I went over to his dresser and started throwing empty water bottles he had, at him.
"Octavia stop it!" he said blocking the bottles, then he grabbed a container of some sort from his nightstand throwing it at my head.
"Jeremy!" I yelled annoyed.

"You started it now tell me why your beating me up." he stated as he grabbed a bag of unopened chips throwing them at my stomach.
"You told mom about Ryder." I stated picking up a pack of gum I seen throwing it at him, which hit perfectly on his right cheek.
"Fuck." he said putting his hand over his cheek, "Alright stop would you? I only did it to get her opinion and she wasn't even mad."
Opinion?
"Opinion about what?" I asked stopping my assault on my older brother.
"I wanted to see if Ryder was a good guy." I looked at him gesturing him to go on, "When mom and dad came home that day catching you guys I felt bad because you seemed to really like him." he spoke softly looking at me.
This explains nothing, why is he treating Ryder different from Liam?
"I went to mom and asked what was going on, she told me about how her and dad met." he said his eyes meeting mine then he continued, "Anyways after that I knew you were still seeing him even before I caught you guys, I might have over heard you talking with Jake about it."
That little eavesdropper!
"Okay well how would you know mom wouldn't have gotten mad and just told dad?" I asked stupidly, we both knew mom was the understandable one.
"I think you know the answer to that." he said crossing his arms and raising his eyebrows, "I just wanted what was best for you Octavia." he said genuinely.
I smiled, "So you like Ryder?" I asked as my cheeks blushed at the thought of him.
Jeremy sighed, "If he makes you happy then yeah I like him." he said smiling, "Plus Liam told me about what he did at the party anyone who defends you is worthy in my book."

I walked over to him, giving him a hug. My brother also embraced me back.
"Just one more thing." I said pulling away from him.
"What?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows.
"What's the difference between him and Liam?" I asked curiously.
"Liam was my best friend and Ryder isn't." Jeremy stated, "Speaking of which this Saturday I'm throwing a surprise birthday party for Casy at his house, your coming." he finished hopping back into his bed.
I only shook my head as I left the room going to mine.
It seemed I had everyone's approval of Ryder but, my dads. How could I make him see what a great guy Ryder was, when all he saw was the gang leader in him. My mother told me more about the gang, how my father and Ryder knew of each other. What there ranks were and how everything worked.
I had wondered how she knew so much but, I remembered my dad. I didn't get how he could be this way towards Ryder and I when the same thing he's doing to us, happened to him and mom.
"Someone seems thoughtful." a voice I've come to know very well said.
I watched as he climbed through my open window, coming over to me. Ryder's hands made there way up to my face cupping it, my favorite action of his.
"Anything wrong love?" he asked concern filling his eyes immediately.
This made my insides melt at his caring nature towards me. I stared at him a little longer, he was absolutely the most handsome guy I ever seen.
"Love?" he asked again breaking the trance I seemed to be in.
I grabbed one of his hands that were cupping my cheek and leant more into it, "No nothing's wrong." I said smiling up at him.
"Are you sure?" he asked still unsure.
"Yes I promise." I said genuinely.
This seemed to get him to believe me since he leant down kissing me in which I returned it.
"I have something to ask you." he said pulling away, he seemed nervous now.
"Well I actually have something to tell you." I said speaking about what I found out.
I wanted him to know that I knew and it didn't change anything.
"Well you first." he said looking confused.
I didn't want to go first because he was clearly nervous to ask me this. So I wanted him to get his over with so he could feel better. I was also just curious as to what it was he was going to ask me.
"No you can go first." I said with smile as he held my hands in his.
"How about we go at the same time?" he asked seeming more nervous, I gave a small okay.
"1...2...3." we both counted but, I stayed quite as he spoke.
"Octavia, will you be my girlfriend?" I heard him ask as his eyes widen when he realized I didn't say anything with him on three.
Hearing those words come from his mouth was heaven to my ears. My heart was aching and the butterflies in my stomach wouldn't stop flying around.
I didn't want to start our relationship with this secret still being something that's holding vulnerability in his heart so I didn't answer his question, just yet.
Inside I already knew what my answer was though; yes

He began walking over to me. This is it. I'm dead. I saw his shoes come into my view as I was looking down, hair covering my face. "Look at me." He growled out. I started to cry, too afraid to look. He grasped my chin and lifted my face to meet his. I mentally gasped. It's the guy from last night. His eyes held surprise too, before anger erupted in them. I cowered back in fear of what he might do."Who did this to your face?" He growled. I started to cry again and shake."Him." I whispered and gave a small nod toward the guy who hit me.

In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm.
