Foolish, White, and Sweet Yan Shuyu had no idea exactly how insidious Boss Zhou’s move was. Qin Luoyi, who was at the family banquet, on the other hand, was faceslapped so much by Boss Zhou that her face was almost swollen. Even her heavy makeup could not conceal the redness on her face, not to mention that burning sensation. And, she would still have to withstand the questioning from the old master.

Just a few minutes ago, the butler came in from the outside and announced that Boss Zhou had sent over a gift. It was neither the New Year nor another holiday, nor did he say who it was for. The living room that was once lively quieted down. Everybody was curious about this sudden gift from Boss Zhou. Qin Luoyi even mentioned, in reservation, to her relative about the matchmaking of Boss Zhou and her daughter. She figured the check must have worked and that gold-digging little tramp took the money and left Boss Zhou, so Boss Zhou has, once again, remembered how wonderful her Yuxuan was. This delicately wrapped gift that he had sent over must be a kind gesture for her daughter.

Qin Luoyi couldn’t even hide her happiness on her face at the thought of someone like Boss Zhou becoming her wonderful son-in-law. Nevertheless, this “gift” was intercepted by the old master. When the old master took the content out in front of everyone, Qin Luoyi felt like she was struck by lightning. Her body froze on the spot.

The only thing inside the box was a check. There was no card or message, but Qin Luoyi immediately thought about the check that she gave to Yan Shuyu. She felt sure that that little tramp, after accepting her check, had turned around and betrayed her. Evidently that worked really well on Boss Zhou, so he wrote another check and had it delivered to their house in such an ostentatious way. Rather than saying that the deal was off, this was his way of faceslapping her the same way that she did to Yan Shuyu.

Qin Luoyi was very angry. She had always been proud of her identity as the Young Miss Qin. As much as her husband’s family wasn’t prestigious, she still held an important role at the Qin’s Corporation. She was still that highly regarded precious daughter of the Qin’s. Yet Boss Zhou dares to treat her this way. This wasn’t a warning; this was an insult.

Qin Luoyi had never been so humiliated in her entire life, but she had underestimated Boss Zhou after all. He didn’t even bother with throwing money around like anyone else in a prestigious family; he merely returned the exact same check that she had written out.

There was no card or message, but there was a personal stamp on the check. Old Master Qin took a close look at it, and the smile on his face slowly froze. Looking at Qin Luoyi angrily, he said, “Qin Luoyi, can you please explain this to me?”

All of a sudden everybody turned and looked at Qin Luoyi – that included her siblings and those from the younger generations like her nieces and nephews. Some of them were curious, others were concerned, and some couldn’t wait for the drama to unfold.

Qin Luoyi was thoroughly humiliated at this family banquet. Never mind that everybody was there to watch the drama unfold, the old master even said that her mindset wasn’t clear enough to hold such an important role at the company. As such, the prideful Ms. Qin was demoted by her own father who had always trusted and relied on her. Even though she could still keep her shares, this was no ordinary loss for the ambitious Qin Luoyi.

The lesson that she had learned was too painful and too memorable. Qin Luoyi had completely given up her original plans of getting revenge against the little tramp who dared to mess with her. After all, she worried that she would not be able to handle the consequences should she offend Boss Zhou one more time.

As angry as she was at Yan Shuyu, Qin Luoyi dared not make any move. All she could do was pray that Boss Zhou would lose interest in the little tramp soon so she could redeem herself.

Yan Shuyu was completely oblivious about all of these. Her focus was on what the boss had told her – that he had already “returned the item to its rightful owner”. Pained, Yan Shuyu abandoned all hopes of becoming wealthy overnight and redirected her attention on the following activities

Even though there was a shopping center close by where she lived that had both the theater and clawing machines that the kids were looking forward to, the boss was someone with higher requirements. He wanted to drive to a bigger and better shopping mall. Yan Shuyu did not object to that. She just pulled out her cellphone and said, “Oh, okay. Let me book the tickets first then. That way we won’t have to wait around. We can go straight to the movie, then lunch. The timing will be perfect~”

Zhou Qinhe was responsible for the driving and Yan Shuyu only needed to focus on booking tickets and picking out their seats. The two little kiddos yakked nonstop in the back seat about the movie they were about to watch. Everybody had their own role cut out for them, and they arrived at their destination harmoniously.

Yan Shuyu had on stilettos today and Boss Zhou, being the gentleman that he always was, naturally would not have missed that. As soon as they got out of the car, the boss voluntarily held onto both children. Yan Shuyu could be pretty by herself in her stilettos, and the four of them walked inside of the theater.

After the last time, Boss Zhou had already got this movie thing figured out. Not only did he pick up the tickets with Yan Shuyu’s cellphone, he even stood in line and bought them a popcorn set. Seeing the boss with the food in his hand from a distance, Yan Shuyu stood up happily and waited for… the ice cola that he bought. Zhou Qinhe handed over to her the entire bag and chuckled lightly, “The two cups on the left have no ice added.”

“No ice added?” asked Yan Shuyu but quickly realized what he meant by that. She first pulled out the two cups of room temperature cola. “One for each of your two kiddoes.”

Zhang Yuanjia had been to the theater with Yan Shuyu a few times already. She has the habit of not enjoying eating alone, so she’d buy him a popcorn set every time as well. As such, little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao skillfully inserted the straw into the cup of cola and was ready to go. On the other hand, Zhou Yi, who was with him, had a blank look on him. This was the first time this little young master, born into wealth, was going to a movie theater, and he had never even seen cola before today. He had no idea what to do with it in his hands.

Zhang Yuanjia voluntarily inserted the straw for him and gave him the advice from his own experience. “You always have popcorn when you go to a movie theater. When you are thirsty later on, you’d take a sip of this. It’s very good tasting.”

Looking up at the adults next to him, this little big brother proactively added, “But Mommy said this is junk food and if we have too many of them, they will stunt our growth. So we can’t have too much of them.”

The little male lead, under the guidance of the experienced little big brother, took a sip curiously. Then, after a habitual frown, his face lit up. “It’s delicious!”

Zhang Yuanjia, too, smiled with a sense of accomplishment, but he still reminded him again. “We are still young though, so we can only have half a cup. We shouldn’t exceed that amount.”

Zhou Yi listened to him solemnly and said, “Okay.”

As Zhang Yuanjia had already let him know of the essentials, Yan Shuyu, patted them in her usual carefree manner and said, “Okay, kiddos, it’s time to go inside. The two of you should hold hands with each other. That way neither one of you will get lost.”

The animation was 2 hours long and ended at exactly 12 o’clock, lunch time. Nevertheless, Yan Shuyu rubbed her belly before she looked down and asked Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi, “Are you two hungry?”

The two little boys weren’t hungry at all, so Yan Shuyu suggested happily, “Great. Let’s go claw stuffed toys first.”

As for the boss’s opinion, she had conveniently ignored it. He’d agree with whatever she said anyway~

The shopping mall was quite busy on the weekends and the clawing machines were the most popular activities with girls and little kiddos. A lot of people were at the clawing machines even during lunch hours. Yan Shuyu and the others were only able to find one available machine, so the four of them had to take turns playing it. Yan Shuyu, acting like an adult, announced, “You kids go first and each of you can only play 10 times each. No trying to go over ten times.”

Surprised by how petty she was with kids, Zhou Qinhe gave Yan Shuyu a resigned look. But, looking at how excited she looked, he finally quietly agreed to her terms.

Zhang Yuanjia was still holding Zhou Yi’s hand like an older brother. Taking a deep breath nervously, he said, “Only 10 tries, we must give it our best. I will start first and you watch how I do it, okay?”

Zhou Yi nodded docilely, “Okay.”

“Okay, I am going to start now. Watch carefully.” Zhang Yuanjia stood in front of the machine that was barely taller than him. His tone was so serious as if he was about to enter into a formal competition. Zhou Yi, too, opened up his eyes wide and watched intently at the little big brother to see how this worked.

The very next second, an extra head popped out between the two kiddoes. Yan Shuyu had excitedly joined in to watch.

As the saying goes, three’s a company. But after all three of them had taken their turns, never mind a stuffed toy, they weren’t even able to get a hair. Devastated, it was Boss Zhou’s turn. Low and behold, Boss Zhou, the man who said he had never played on a clawing machine before grabbed a stuffed toy on his first try. Even though it finally fell in the middle, that was still the best outcome among all of them. All of the audiences got excited and three pairs of sparkling eyes locked onto him.

Zhou Qinhe was baffled when he noticed that, somewhere down the line, his son now has the exact same look as the mother and son duo. Nevertheless, he maintained his usual gentlemanly smile and said, “Pardon me. Just a small error.”

“That’s pretty good already.” Yan Shuyu was generous at giving him her thumbs up, and then, with a look of anticipation, she walked over to him and said, “I want that green frog. Do you think you can get that?”

“The frog is in the corner. That might be more difficult.” As Boss Zhou commented on it professionally, he adjusted the angle and reached the claw over in that direction.

He patiently tried it a few times. The first couple of times to adjust the angle and finally successfully snagged it on his third try. Naturally, Yan Shuyu had no idea about these strategies, all she heard was the “clank” as the stuffed toy that she had wanted rolled out of the machine. She was excited and started flattering him with her arms in his.

Zhou Qinhe bent over, picked up her frog, and asked her, “What else do you want?”

Yan Shuyu wanted the panda too. She had her eyes on it for a while now, but when she looked down and saw the two excited faces, she still said in her adult way, “You should get them something too.”

Zhou Qinhe’s eyes flickered before he realized that he had almost forgotten that his own son was right there. Of course, he was too skilled to let that show on his look. His lips curved, upward and he put on the perfect smile. “What do you two want?”

Zhang Yuanjia wanted a cute little lion. Zhou Yi didn’t want anything in particular, so he also asked for a lion. Not only did Zhou Qinhe fulfill all of their requests, he also got the panda that Yan Shuyu wanted in the end before he stopped and kindly suggested that it was time to go to lunch.

Yan Shuyu wasn’t all that greedy after all. This was the first time she was able to win anything out of a clawing machine, and she couldn’t be any happier. And just like that, with a frog in one hand and the little panda in the other, she went to lunch with the boss. When they were waiting for their food to be served, she happily took a picture and posted it onto her friends’ circle.

Manager Yang’s remark came right away. “Impressive. Who got those for you?”
