Dorsett Hotel never stood out within the headquarter. In the past, they would never be picked to host large-scale events such as the annual party. This had been a lucky year for Dorsett Hotel. Possibly because, earlier in the year, Boss Zhou had decided on a whim to stay for over a month at their hotel and they had managed to leave him with a lasting impression and was therefore willing to let them handle a project of this magnitude. As half of a host, Boss Han had been chatting up with his colleague complacently with a wine glass in hand before the banquet had even started.

Seeing the woman who was prettier than a movie start accompanying Boss Zhou to the venue, Boss Han, much like his other colleague, was dazed for a little while. Nevertheless, he was greatly elated afterward.

The fact that Boss Zhou had a girlfriend was no longer a secret after she had brought him his document to the office once before. Truth was, even a few months ago, there had been rumors that Boss Zhou was no longer single. Why else would a workaholic man suddenly started taking off on time? What other reasons could there be other than being in a romantic relationship?

Under everyone's careful observation, the woman behind the boss was slowly being revealed. They only know that she was very private, or that Boss Zhou was doing too good of a job hiding her from the public's eyes. After all sorts of digging, the only things that they had found out about her was her last name being "Yan", she was very pretty but she was not a star, and she seemed to also be a single mother. And that was all that anyone was able to learn about her.

Any more detailed information was probably limited to the few that were close to the boss.

Boss Han, on the other hand, was an exception to the rule. He wasn't exactly a trusted employee of Boss Zhou's but he was particularly familiar with the boss's romance. In fact, he arguably knew more than Secretary Lu. After all, by the time that Secretary Lu found out, Yan Shuyu was already the boss's girlfriend. Robin and Louis could tell her about Yan Shuyu, but they wouldn't gossip about the romance part of it and definitely not oversharing anything that they shouldn't.

Naturally, anything that had happened at Hotel Dorsett, even if nobody else knew anything about the event but Han Yue was not one of them. Even though the surveillance video from that night had been erased quickly and everyone who knew of anything were told to not share a world, but Manager Han was finally about to find out the truth of that night.

Precisely because he knew about the past, a lot more thoughts went through Boss Han's mind when he saw Yan Shuyu. Most others just thought that Boss Zhou and this Miss Yan seemed to be very intimate with each other, but Han Yue wondered if there was other message that Boss Zhou was trying to send by bringing Yan Shuyu with him as his date.

In Han Yue's mind, Yan Shuyu stood out among other women. He had always thought of her as someone with nothing special about her other than her looks. Pretty girls like her were normally more prideful than their peers and the same could be said about her. The ambitious in her eyes might fool others but not Han Yue. He never paid her a lot of attention but what she had succeeded in had exceeded his expectation.

This Miss Yan was truly ambitious and locked onto the big boss at first sight and acted upon it.

When they've learned of the real reason of her departure from Hotel Dorsett, Han Yue, along with Chen Jing, of the Guest Department, saw eye to eye - good, the trouble was gone. Han Yue did find out that Boss Zhou did develop some interest later on and asked Manager Chen for a small favor. Boss Han pretended that he knew nothing about it. Respecting the privacy of his boss aside, he also didn't have that much faith in Yan Shuyu. She was but a girl that was slightly prettier than her peers. Even if Boss Zhou was interested in her, his interest would be short lived.

Never in a million years would he have expected that when he heard about her again, the girl was already the boss's official girlfriend. In fact, even the boss's number of after-hour meetings had gone down. That pleased many of his colleagues at the headquarter. In addition to that, Yan Shuyu had also gone in and out of the corporation's headquarter openly, rode in Boss Zhou's private elevator, and even tagged along on his business trip.

Having heard all these stories, Han Yue dared not under estimate Yan Shuyu anymore. He figured that there was more to this Miss Yan that she had been hiding. Boss Zhou himself was already fairly unfathomable, and Yan Shuyu was able to be manipulative with him and succeeded. Had she placed her focus on work, she would probably already be his left or right-hand woman by now. After all, those in the hotel industry put more weight on ability rather than qualifications.

But that was alright, people aim for different things in life. It would arguably be faster for Miss Yan to become Mrs. Zhou than becoming upper management at the hotel - Han Yue had only speculated it privately before today but, seeing Yan Shuyu now, he had become more certain of it. Not only because she was accompanying Boss Zhou to the annual party but also from the change that he could see in her.

The original owner had really only met Boss Han a few times when she was working at Hotel Dorsett and the two of them never even talked. She would, otherwise, not need to make Boss Zhou her target.

But she was pretty. As much Han Yue wasn't into relationships with employees working under him, he still remembered her. He didn't think much of her before because she was no different than any other pretty girls that he had seen in the past, pretty but shallow. And he didn't like that inappropriate ambition that he could see in her eyes.

And yet, within a short few months, the Yan Shuyu tonight dazzled Han Yue. She was still the same pretty girl but her look and aura had changed entirely. The fancy jewelries and outfit did not make her seem out of place. Quite the contrary, they complimented her perfectly and made her appeared noble and classy.

Standing next to Boss Zhou with a slight smile on her, she looked nothing like that ambitious pitiful girl that she once was.

The change in her has been so drastic that she was like a totally different person now. Had he not known Yan Shuyu from before, he would have thought she was some girl from some wealthy family. She would not have changed so much in such a short amount of time if Boss Zhou give her the amount of attention that he did.

Granted, seeing how Yan Shuyu looked today, all his hard work had paid off.

That was why Boss Han felt that they were about to have a new Mrs. Zhou. The fact that Boss Zhou brought her with him today might very well be a message.

Most of his colleagues did not know Boss Zhou's girlfriend and, in fact, this was the first time they had met her. They were still hesitating whether they should go up and greet her. Him, on the other hand, didn't have that problem. He knew Yan Shuyu from before and now he could use that to his advantage - a lot had crossed Boss Han's mind but that didn't take too much time at all. He immediately swapped to a new glass of wine and walked up passionately and pleasantly, "Boss Zhou, Miss Yan..."

Seeing Boss Han all of a sudden gave Yan Shuyu guilty conscience all over again. The boss, on the other hand, toasted with him in a friendly manner. He even handed her a glass of red wine personally. Yan Shuyu had no choice but to take a sip awkwardly while plotting about looking for an opportunity to slip away. The boss had told her that she didn't need to do anything other than being there in person. So it shouldn't matter if she just want to hide out in a hidden corner somewhere.

Yan Shuyu had yet to find that opportunity when Han Yue had started chatting them up. He didn't omit Yan Shuyu while chatting with Boss Zhou nor did he avoided the part that she used to work there. "I only found out how talented Miss Yan is when I saw the news a few days ago. I was as good as spotting talent as Boss Zhou and wasn't able to keep Miss Yan here..."

As Han Yue spoke so eloquently, Yan Shuyu started to feel less awkward. Looking at Boss Han's straight face, she started to think that she had overthought it all. Perhaps Boss Han had no idea what she had done. Any one who knew about her dark history would have pretended that he didn't recognize her to avoid the awkwardness. It didn't make sense that he would bring that up purposefully.

Thinking of that, Yan Shuyu stood up that much straighter than before. It so happened that Boss Zhou had turned to look at her and, smiling, said, "She's not bad right now either."

Yan Shuyu nodded reflexively. She was doing pretty good for herself right now. Being an instructor that was famed on the internet with high pay was 100 times better than working in a hotel.

Han Yue interpreted that quite different than Yan Shuyu did. After finishing with his drink, he laughed wholeheartedly, "Boss Zhou and Miss Yan met at Hotel Dorsett, right? That would make me a matchmaker of short. You are welcome, hahaha."

Boss Zhou didn't respond to that but poured him more wine in person and in a friendly manner. Boss Han downed the wine with alacrity and finally walked away after some more chitchatting.

After watching him walked away, Yan Shuyu finally had a relaxed smile on her. She thought she had it all figured out. Indeed, Boss Han had no idea what she had done to the boss. Back then, Boss Han had been staying at the hotel monitoring everything himself. If the general manager had no idea what had happened, then nobody else would.

She was either very stealthy in her actions or that the boss had done something to help cover it up. Either way, she had nothing else to worry about.

As such, when the annual party was over, Yan Shuyu could already walk out of there calmly and with her head held high.

The Zhou's annual party for upper management was held a week after their regular annual party. New Year was two days after the annual party. Naturally, Yan Shuyu would be spending New Year with the Zhou's father and son.

Speaking of, Yan Shuyu was quite surprised as well. Her and her son had nowhere to go but it would seem that the boss and the little young master didn't need to spend their New Year at the rental. As much as the rental was still luxurious and there was nothing shabby about but it was still sad that they weren't going to go home for New Year.

Yet that didn't bother the boss or the little young master at all. The four of them were putting up couplets and making dumplings on New Year's Eve. It was very festive.

Over the New Year's time frame, all four of the family members had different length of vacations. Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi's kindergarten would not be resuming until the 20th on the lunar calendar. Yan Shuyu's musical institution was much earlier than theirs and would resume on the 8th.

Nevertheless, when compared to her vacation, some other's was mortifyingly short, such as the boss's.

It'd make sense that the boss had very little time off. Chinese New Year were holidays in China but the Zhou's Corporation had businesses all over the world. Chinese New Year had no effect on the businesses overseas. The company was still running and, as such, Boss Zhou, as the big boss, was still busy as usual. He had a quiet New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at home and had to go on a business trip on the 2nd.

Yan Shuyu was quite surprised at this situation as well. It was mentioned in passing in the novel that the boss had a very small family. There were no more on their main branch other than himself and the little male lead. Now that she had been with the boss for so long, she had learned some more about his family. The Zhou's had only had one offspring each generation for a few generations until the boss. His father had no siblings and, as such, he was the only one left after they had passed away in a car accident.

And the little male lead was the only one after him.

When she found this out, Yan Shuyu had lamented about the boss's and the little male lead's rough life. This must be the challenges that were put on them by fate to prepare them for their responsibilities in life.

And then it all made sense to her. She seemed to have figured out why the boss had to train his son in such an extreme way. The Zhou's had no more relatives within three generations. If the male lead could not take on the responsibilities of the family business, then the "throne" would end up outside of the family. Then the boss would become the sinner of the royals, no, the Zhou's.

Granted, if there was even one more person remaining from the older generation, then the little male lead wouldn't have end up with such a pitiful life in the novel. Even if his own father could train him the way that he did, his grandparents would not have let that happen.

But she had digressed. Even learning some more about the boss's family, Yan Shuyu still didn't understand why he needed to go on a business trip on the 2nd.

The boss's father and son looked to be just the two of them much like she and her instant son but that was still not the same as a single person. The Zhou was, after all, a prominent family for generations. Even without close relatives, wouldn't he still have some distant relatives or friends that he should be visiting over the New Year? Even she was prepared to visit Manager Yang and her Boss Liu on the 4th.

The boss, on the other hand, did not let these bog him down. He even brought with him Yan Shuyu and the two little kiddos with nothing better to do on his private plane and said he would take them to have fun.

The boss went over to England this time. Yan Shuyu was not a well-travelled one and it was her first time to England. Zhang Yuanbao and the little male lead had a fabulous time there, going out with the chauffeur and the bodyguards every day. Yan Shuyu, on the other hand, did not experience the joy of traveling overseas.

Perhaps her appearance at the annual party allowed the boss to see her potential as a vase. He solicited her help in all of the social events in England.

Foreigners seemed to enjoy balls a lot. The few events that Yan Shuyu accompanied the boss to were all in the format of balls. Perhaps that was also the reason why he needed to bring her with.
