《Male Lead's Villainess Stepmother》Chapter 93

As one of the major shareholders of Sunshine House, Yan Shuyu wasn't exactly just a mascot of the place. Occasionally, she would be dragged to check out the remodeling of the new locations or, when she had some free time, to go and perform at Sunshine House. After all, this was no longer her part-time gig, but her official side business. She was nowhere close to as actively involved as Manager Yang was, but she was still more engaged than she used to be.
Time flew when one was busy. Summertime came before anyone realized. Yan Shuyu was much wealthier this year than she was previously. She was, after all, a high-income individual making over 10,000 yuan a month. As such, she had very generously expressed that she would be bringing the kids travelling overseas for a few days to celebrate the start of their vacation.
This time, Yan Shuyu got her wish to take the two children with her alone, without having the boss with her. Boss Zhou was a very busy man and had very limited time to spare. He had to painfully choose accompanying them overseas for the competitions over travelling with them.
That was right. In additional to travelling over the summertime, another major event over summer was that little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao was getting ready to participate in an oversea piano competition. He had only been learning to play the piano for barely one year on ends. Perhaps he was somewhat talented after all. That on top of hard work and surrounded by so many quality instructors, he had marked improvement over the last year. Liu Cui had already brought him to a few domestic competitions during the first half of the year. Winning was not the main point here. Mainly it was for him to gain some experiences. As such, Liu Cui did not hesitate to sign him up to this competition this time when he was able to get him slot through some connections.
This was the first time Zhang Yuanjia was going to participate in a major competition. It was very different than the minor one that he had participated in before. Even the boss valued it a lot and freed up his schedule purposefully to accompany them overseas.
The little kiddo held his own as well. He was able to pass the preliminaries, semi-finals, all the way into the final round and finally taking third place and returned home with a golden, sparkly trophy cup.
Zhang Yuanjia was one of the younger competitors in his group. During the final, the petite, and delicate cute Asian doll mixed in with all the other blonde hair blue eyed competitor making him seemed even more delicate and cute than he already was and also made him looked even younger. Many had noticed him during the competition and many media covered him after the results were out and he had gained a quick moment of fame.
All things considered, this was a competition that received some attention. News about it could be seen on social media from time to time. Yan Shuyu was, nevertheless, surprised that she saw a photo of herself when she was looking through Twitter, a social media outside of China.
She wasn't a famous person so it was probably just a coincidence that some netizen posted a photo of her on Twitter. Or, specifically, it had a lot to do with their geographical location.
The competition was held in London, England. Yan Shuyu, as the family member, would have arranged seats from the organizer. It wouldn't be any particularly great seats, however. With the boss also tagging along, they had no need for the seats provided by the organizer. A word from the boss and they received the best spot at the venue. Surrounding them on all sides were all Caucasians. Making them stood out even more. Let it be media or individuals, whenever they were taking photos, they'd include them for the sake of it.

The picture of Yan Shuyu on Twitter, according to the poster, was also copied from some media. She was not in the center but was still pretty eye-catching. In particular, she had Zhou Yi on her lap at the time, who was completely absorbed in watching the game. The two not-so-similar Asian faces next to each other made all the foreigners shouted "so cute!" Such as the poster on Twitter. They posted it on the internet and asked whether they were celebrities in Asia and whether anyone had any information on them.
Unfortunately, the post did not get a lot of attention and Yan Shuyu only ran into it by chance.
One way or another, Yan Shuyu was fairly happy that her beauty was recognized by friends overseas. It didn't bother her at all that the poster assumed that little male lead was her son - mainly because it had happened so often that she was already used to it.
Being praised by others, her son doing better than they had expected in the competition, and the event wrapping up smoothly, Yan Shuyu happily returned to China with the boss and the kids in tow. Little had she expected that the picture Twitter ended up causing a little bit of a ruckus.
Time always flies during vacations and school started again shortly after the competition. Little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao had finally graduated kindergarten and entered into first grade. Truth was, he wouldn't be turning seven until winter and, supposedly, he couldn't attend grade school till the next year. Of course, all the boss needed to do was to talk to someone and the criteria was waived and the little kiddo was able to sign up for grade school. It was an international grade school. He was no longer in the same school as Zhou Yi but the kindergarten and the grade school were in the same school district.
The rich noble school was almost the same size as one of the prestigious universities. The campus was inclusive of kindergarten, grade school, junior and senior high schools. As such, Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi went to school hand in hand every day.
Just like before, the boss was responsible for dropping them off in the morning and Yan Shuyu for picking them up in the afternoon.
The grade school and kindergarten did not let out at the same time but Zhang Yuanjia had piano practices and had already informed his teacher and was waived from attending the very last class.
This after, just like normal, Yan Shuyu walked out with one little carrot in each hand and saw an extremely beautiful woman with long, black hair looking at them. Specifically, looking at the little boy that she was holding with her right hand.
The weather was neither too cold nor too hot. The beauty was wearing a very well-fitted white dress and only looked too delicate for the gentle breeze. As a loyal dog for looks, Yan Shuyu naturally gave her a few extra looks. Suddenly, she noticed that the beauty and the little male lead were looking at each other as though they were deep emotions between them.
Granted, the beauty looked very emotional even from a distance whereas the little male lead was expressionless. Yan Shuyu still couldn't help but asked the little male lead, "Do you know that big sister?"
The beauty looked to be a few years older than her but her aura was so delicate that she couldn't even refer to her as "aunty" in front of the little kiddos.
The little kiddo shook his head without hesitation. "No, I do not know her."

Yan Shuyu nodded. After spending so much time together, she could confidently say that she knew the little male lead as much as his father did.
Even though the little male lead had one expression on him all the time but Yan Shuyu would still be able to tell his mood from just one look. For example, he might have been exchanging solemn looks with the beauty but he looked at loss otherwise. He probably really didn't recognize her and only looked at her at as she was looking at him.
As curious as she was, Yan Shuyu did not ask the little male lead any more questions. In addition, the beauty standing there was only looking at them from afar and did not look like she intended to approach them. Yan Shuyu, as baffled as she was, just put the kids in the car and took off. She planned to ask the boss whether he knew this person at a later time. That being said, when the boss came home that evening and mentioned a wedding of some uncle this coming Sunday and they would be bringing the children, she was completely distracted.
Ever since the annual party of his company, Yan Shuyu had walked down the path of being a vase and the boss had been bringing her with him to any event that a date was needed. Perhaps because she was convenient and made him look good.
It was so much it she never thought about rebelling but she was, after all, living under his roof and there was be occasions that she was not able to turn down. As such, there would always been a couple of events every month and she was already used to it. This was, however, the first time that they would be bringing both children. Yan Shuyu felt awkward about that. "Just bring Xiao Yi with you. Yuanbao has class still."
Class was just an excuse. Mainly felt awkward attending a wedding on the boss's side with her child. They were, after all, not related.
She wouldn't want to go herself either had she not understood that the boss needed a date for the event.
Zhou Qinhe casted her a glance when he heard that. "Don't you think he'll feel bad being left a home by himself when all of us were gone?"
As her son wasn't around, Yan Shuyu said freely and without pressure, "That's not a problem. We just have to sneak out."
Boss Zhou, “....”
Boss Zhou went on to explain helplessly, "Uncle had said it himself that we will have Xiao Yi be the flower boy and Yuanbao can perform."
The little male lead was too pretty not to be the flower boy. As for her instant son, after he had won the award, he had been fairly famous in their immediate area. It was not uncommon when friends and relatives invited him to perform on stage. That Yan Shuyu was already used to. She was more curious how did a close family friend of the boss's family found out about it? Her son was not the boss's son.
When Yan Shuyu asked her question, the boss smiled tenderly at her and said, "When Yuanbao won the award, I've posted it to my friend's circle as well. Is it that strange that they know?"
For some inexplicable reasons, the more tender the boss's smile was, the more scared Yan Shuyu was. She could only nod docilely. "No, not strange at all."
"Then do you have any more question?"
Yan Shuyu replied weakly, "No, no more questions."
The boss's smile was so scary that even if she did she wouldn't dare to say them out loud anymore.
Boss Zhou was very pleased with her response. Curving his lips some, he said, "The event will be in a few days. We should prepare the outfit for the boys. It will, after all, be a formal setting."
Yan Shuyu dared not rebel against the boss's decision. She docilely prepared the little kiddos' outfits in the next couple of days. Their closets were no less impressive than hers and have more clothes than they could wear at their young ages. Yan Shuyu had an evil thought all of a sudden and picked out a black and a white formal wear for the two of them, making them a black and white combination. Then she had the aunties help iron them out.
Comparing to the well-trained aunties, Yan Shuyu seemed even clumsier than she already was. It was best she let others take care of the rest~
The little kiddos were very excited when they found out that they would be attending a wedding banquet. Zhang Yuanbao was especially looking forward to it as this was the first wedding that he would be attending. He had nonstop questions for Yan Shuyu day in and day out. "What does the bride look like? Is she as pretty as Mommy?"
Yan Shuyu had a lot of faith in the choice of a rich person. The bride would for sure be attractive. Given the age of the groom, however, she didn't have too much anticipation. How handsome could he be at his advanced age?
And the truth wasn't too far from how she had imaged. The groom was a man of a grandfather's age. Though it was difficult to tell his real age with his head of black hair but, standing next to the very attractive, early-20s bribe, Yan Shuyu still found that a little bit of an eyesore. As such, she didn't pay too much attention during the ceremony. She looked all around the venue and, all of a sudden, she seemed to have seen that beauty that she had run into a few days ago!
A wedding was, after all, not a high-end, western-style banquet where guests could be as pretentious as they want while holding a wine glass in hand.
This wedding was very Tall, Big, and Classy in and of itself and have a large green field and a castle. Nevertheless, it also had a lot of guests and was somewhat chaotic. There were kids running around shouting all over the place and, under such situations, Yan Shuyu was not able to be immediately next to the boss at all time like she did at the banquets in the past. At the very minimum, there wasn't much she could do but to watch the boss took the boys to the bathroom when the necessity arose.
Naturally, Yan Shuyu wasn't the kind who'd be at loss without the boys around. She had a lot of faith putting the boys in the boss's hand before she turned around and looked for food on her own.
