《Love on Top》Ch.11

Samuel had invited Cristian and I out to the park with him and his dog Dave. I was happy to go because at least I'll be near Samuel and because now Cristian possibly has someone to play with. I hope Dave is friendly because I don't want him being mean to my baby. Since we were going to to the park, I got dressed in black Nike Leg-A-See logo leggings, a maroon Nike rally funnel neck hoodie, a pair of black Nike ankle socks, and my all black Roshe's. I had my hair in a messy bun with a thick black headband around it. I grabbed Cristian's blue sixteen foot leash that had the button for locking the distance on it.
"Cristian, sweetie!" I called. He came bounding down the stairs happily.
"Let's go to the park," I said. He wags his tail in excitement and barks in response. I smiled and put his leash on him. I locked up the house and then I let him do his business in the yard before we left. When we arrived at the park, I see Samuel sitting at a bench with his dog Dave sitting next to his long legs. I clasped Cristian's leash to his collar before we got out the car. I walked over to Samuel and Dave with Cristian beside me. Samuel looks up when he sees me. Dave jumps on me and I smiled.
"Dave, down," Samuel sternly said. Dave gets down and I smile again.
"It's fine," I murmured.
"This must be Cristian," Samuel said.
"Yeah it is," I nodded. Samuel gets up and stands at his full height. We started walking side by side as we walked Cristian and Dave while also talking to each other. I don't know how we got onto the subject of my family, but we did.

"So what are your siblings like?" He questioned.
"Well my older brother Chad is a really nice guy. He's very protective of me and my sisters, but he can be kind of intimidating," I murmured.
"If I had a sister as beautiful as you then I'd be very protective," Samuel said. I blushed with a small smile.
"You'd probably make a good brother," I tell him.
"Hm. You think so?" He looks at me.
"I do," I nodded.
"Thank you. Now tell me about your sisters," He murmured.
"My sister Chastity, Chad's twin, is very nice and sweet, but if you get on her bad side then things get a little messy. She can be petty when she wants to and she throws shade even when you aren't even listening at all," I explained.
"Wow. She sounds tough," He chuckles.
"Really tough," I agreed.
"Okay what about your other sisters?" He asked.
"Well Regina who's the second oldest is an amazing cook and singer. She sometimes sings at this club downtown on Saturday night. She can be as tough as Chastity, but her kind of crazy is a whole other cup of tea," I sighed. He smiled in amusement.
"I bet growing up was pretty crazy," He murmured.
"Like you wouldn't believe," I smiled back.
"What about your sister Marcela that you told me about on our date?" He asked.
"Marcela can be nice and mean at the same time. She's mean to me a lot and I'm mean to her too. I'm pretty close with her, Regina, Chastity, and Chad. As for my sister Sidney, I'm not going to even begin to describe her at all," I rolled my eyes when I said Sidney's name. He chuckled.

"That bad?" He asked.
"Not bad. Worse," I remarked.
"She cannot be that bad, Daphne," He scoffed.
"That bad? I swear to you that when she was born, she had horns, fangs, a tail, and a forked tongue. She had to have surgery to remove her tail, horns, and fangs when she was three," I tell him. Samuel burst into laughter. I laughed with him.
"That's mean, Daphne," He laughed.
"It's not mean if I'm telling the truth," I replied. He chuckles at my response.
"You are something else," He shook his head. We continued to walk around the park together until it hit 6:30 pm. Samuel and Dave walked Cristian and I to our car. I put Cristian into the car and I closed the door. I turned towards Samuel and Dave.
"So my sister's wedding is in two months. Do you want to maybe be my date for it?" I asked.
"Sure. I'll go," He smiled.
"Great. I'll see you later," I replied.
"You too." I get into my car and drive off towards the traffic light.
The next day I was at the bridal shop with my mother,Sidney, Marcela, Chastity, Regina, and Fredrick's mom along with Fredrick's cousin Desiree as his grandmother. We were looking at wedding gowns once again because Sidney still couldn't choose one. Samuel and I were texting each other the entire time this was going on. We were talking about random things such as food, music, movies, and books. During our conversation, Samuel suggested that we go out to see a movie for our second date. I agreed to doing that.
"Daphne," Marcela said.
"Yes?" I asked looking up.
"Sidney asked what you thought of the dress," Regina filled me in. I look at Sidney and the dress.
"It's nice I guess," I shrugged. I wasn't being mean at all. The dress was just nice and it didn't seem like 'the one' for Sidney.
"Ugh! You're no help," She groaned in irritation.
"Sorry," I said.
"Little girl, get your head out of that phone and pay attention," Fredrick'a grandmother scolded. I decided to pay attention while also texting Samuel when Sidney went to go look for another dress.
"What is so important that you can't help your sister pick out a dress for her wedding? Huh?" Mother asked.
"I'm just talking to someone," I answered.
"She's talking to Samuel," Regina smirked. I shot her a glare and she smiled innocently at me.
"Diana, you better watch out. You might have another one who's going to get married soon," Fredrick's mother joked.
"I hope so. This will be the last wedding I have to attend," Mother chuckled. Everyone laughed at the joke, except for me. It's too early to even think about marriage, but I wonder if Samuel is someone I can possibly see my myself marrying in the future. He's a sweet, caring, and handsome man with a good head on his shoulders. He's a gentlemen and he's respectful towards me plus he's not rude to others. Samuel is the perfect guy, well to me he is. Any woman is lucky to have him and I am lucky to even get the chance to spend time with him.

The Song of Souls
WARNING TO MY USUAL READERS: This is not my usual style of story. I've decided to turn this into an anthology of short one-shot stories, that are very atypical of my usual stories or style. Some will be horror, others romance, and others just stupid silly ideas I have. Basically, a collection of shorts I write when I need a break from my usual writing style. I'll include a summary at the start of each "chapter" telling you what to expect. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE SUMMARY! The content and quality of each story will probably vary wildly. (One is even a horror romance featuring an eldritch horror. I promise it's weirder than it sounds.) If you do want to check out my usual writing, be sure to take a gander at my ongoing series, Of Men and Dragons. It's a bit of a long haul at this point, but hopefully it's worth the read!
