you yell

you shout

you get angry

and yet I love you more than you know

i don't stop you

i don't even blink

and i know I can't shed one tear

if water drips down

you don't even want to talk

you get even angrier

and so I pretend

i pretend everything is okay

waiting for your voice change

mood has shifted

and so i go with it

i pretend that your anger didn't phase me

i fight myself not to shed that dreadful tear

and so i smile with all the pain

the burning in my throat with every word I muster

the heavier breathing to stop the muffled cry

the constant blinking to flick those tears

the clenching of my little hands

how do you not tell?

why do i not do something?

i don't want you to be angry

i love you more than you know

so i take the two personalities you seem to sow
