《More than rubies [D. Alli x E. Dier]》Chapter 20

I hummed happy melodies as I was collecting my stuff, ready to leave the hospital.
All I could think about was what I would tell Dele and what I would tell the guys.
"Ruby?", I just had to call her.
"He woke up! He's awake.
He's still weak, but oh my, he's woken up!", I laughed as if my own child was born, it was an uncomparable happiness.
"Oh, Eric! That's great news. Was he able to speak already?"
I smiled.
"Barely, just two or three words, but better that nothing!"
Ruby was very happy, too and told me that she'd visit him soon, too.
After we ended the call I drove back to our that house, where we stayed, as a team.
"Guys! Guess what!", I shouted, as soon as I was inside.
A couple seconds later I saw Kieran, Moussa and Toby rushing around the corner.
"Eric!", Kieran hugged me.
It was slightly awkward, but they knew what I've been going through, so they tried to support me.
"What's the news?", Toby wanted to know.
"Dele has woken up already!", I shouted.
"That's great!", Moussa laughed
"Yep! Of course, oh, no! I need to call Mrs. Alli!"
"Mrs. Alli! Dele has woken up, you can talk to him!", I cheered.
She was so happy and ended the phone call, so she could see her beloved son.
When I entered our room, I was a little bit sad, to see Dele's empty bed, but knowing that he'd return soon made me look forward to him even more.
"Kyle! He is awake. I talked to him so much, he listened so carefully.", I smiled.
"Aw, that's great! I'll go and talk to him tomorrow, too."
At dinner time, everyone wanted to talk to me, and know how he was.

The guys were all so nice and worried, it warmed my heart.
This night, I slept well and dreamt of him, he was my world...
The next morning, after breakfast, I drove to the hospital and went up to Dele's door.
After I had knocked politely, I entered the room. There he was, still lying in the bed, with his countless injuries, but he wasn't as pale as before anymore.
"Dele?", I kneeled beside him again.
"Hey, beauty. Can you hear me? If so, give me a sign."
He whispered:"Eric..."
"Dele... I've been thinking about you so much, I need... I need to tell you something.
I've thought about it alot yesterday, how I would explain it to you..."
I took a deep breath.
"Dele, I love you.
Do you...
you know...
Love me back?"
Damn.
Great, Dier.
So confident on the pitch and now...
Yeah.
Great.
You're acting sooo weird, messing it up.
"I do.", he mumbled.
"What?", I stared at him.
"Really?"
I couldn't believe what I've just heard.
"Dele... I..." I was speechless.
I stared at him in disbelief.
"Come here.", he said quietly, so I obeyed.
"Near me."
I was directly next to him now.
He slowly opened his eyes.
"You're so beautiful."
I had the biggest idiot-grin on my face, but I didn't care at the moment.
He carefully placed his hand on my head, and brought our faces further together.
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment, as our lips met each other.
Then I opened my eyes and smiled brightly.
"I love you so much."
"I love you, too."
I kissed him again, in my tummy the butterflies were rioting and I lost myself in his fastinating brown eyes.
"Does this mean... were together now?", I asked carefully.
He chuckled and replied:"Until we die, nothing will tear us apart.
I love you so much Eric, I'd never let you go."
I blushed.
"I'll never let you go, Dele."

Sorry for the random tiny chapters. I structured and uploaded this as a series of scenes, some of which just didn't need to be very long. I could probably attach the "sub-scenes" to previous chapters, but that'd only be covering it up, so I'm not sure its worth it. Anyway if you find them annoying, let me know, and I'll put some more thought into it. I did, at least, make a point of always posting at least a thousand words on any given day (after I noticed the problem), which hopefully mitigates the problem.
