《We Could Rule The World || UnOrdinary [Isen x Reader]》Chapter 11

"He's been off ever since he heard the latest rumour," Blyke jerked his head across the table to point towards Isen.
You cocked your head to the side, "which is?"
"You seriously haven't heard?" Blyke asked incredulously with his eyes wide open, "do you live under a rock?"
You rolled your eyes and retorted in a dry voice, "ha ha Blyke, you should be a comedian."
He shrugged, "Arlo was seen this morning going into the infirmary with bruises on his face." You gasped and put a hand up to your mouth in horror, "I don't believe it though," he frowned before snacking on a chip, "people here are desperate for any kind of gossip. Even if it's a straight up lie."
You tapped your lip thoughtfully, "yeah. Nobody here can get past Arlo."
Blyke pointed a potato chip at you, "exactly." He agreed before biting down on it with a solid 'crunch'.
"What do you think Mr. Reporter?" you asked with a smile as you nudged Isen. You frowned when he hardly seemed to notice. "Is this about yesterday?" you asked, somewhat annoyed by the silent treatment. You sighed and crossed your arms, "if you want to tell them, you can. I thought about it some more, and I see your point." He hardly blinked.
Blyke laughed at your futile attempts, "you're talking to a brick wall (y/n)." You gave him a glance and seeing him eat his applesauce in the most aggressive manner you've ever seen reassured you in a strange sense. He didn't seem to get that you were hinting at something deeper to Isen. Good. It was still a secret.
"Something's happening, and neither of you are subtle." You glared at Remi and Isen, "tonight, we're having a talk."

Blyke let out a noise of protest, "but I have a paper due!"
"Remi? Isen?" you ignored Blyke's protests and looked at your friends.
Remi jolted out of her trance, "sorry, what did you say?" you let out a groan and let your head fall onto the hard table.
☆☆☆
The only sound in the apartment was you anxiously tapping your fingers against the hard table. Remi had left the apartment a while back, and still hadn't returned. Blyke and Isen were supposed to show up, but seeing how it was already 10 minutes after you suggested to meet up, you guessed that neither of them were going to come.
In front of you was the Wellston Weekly, and you were frowning as you looked at it. The details were scarily accurate. It was almost like the person who was reporting was there. Every action that went down was there. From Remi getting checked, to Isen getting hit by a truck. Something was wrong.
You flipped open a notebook and started to write down a timeline of things getting funky. The date that the bomb went off, when the article came out, the rumours about Arlo. You tapped your pen against your lip, were you forgetting anything?
Seraphina. She wasn't in school. You frowned, but that started weeks before all of this. Nevertheless, you scrawled her name down on the paper. You gasped when you noticed something, it was all the high tiers of the school. The King, Queen, Ace, Jack...hurriedly you sent a text to Isen. Maybe this was what he's been thinking about.
Message from (y/n):
Message to Isen
Something strange is going on at Wellston.
You didn't expect any response from him, considering how he's been strangely quiet and didn't even respond to your text earlier, so imagine your surprise when your phone let out a chirp to signify you got a text.

Message from: Isen
Message to: (y/n)
Yeah, don't get caught up in it
You frowned at his response. Don't get caught up in it? Well that seemed a little unfair, especially after the whole mall incident. You were definitely involved.
Message from (y/n):
Message to Isen
It's too late for that, we're already involved. So why the warning?
Isen.
What do you know?
Several minutes passed by before you got a response.
Message from: Isen
Message to: (y/n)
We'll talk in person.
Message from (y/n):
Message to Isen
Is this related to Arlo?
John?
What sort of mess did you get yourself in this time?
Message from: Isen
Message to: (y/n)
It's bigger than just us.
Message from (y/n):
Message to Isen
Yeah
You heard the door to your apartment open and Remi walked in, "where have you been?"

Nocturne
A man, alone and lacking in prospects, finds out that sometimes the things that you wish for are overshadowed by a cold, but sexy, reality. Come join Scott as the former soldier travels across the land, searching far and wide... in a world filled with sexy monster girls who want nothing more than to find a better life. Also, this is both a satire and a parody (yes, a thing can be both) of Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and a few other things. So, don't take it too seriously despite the first few chapters, or I'll punish you in the name of that big floaty thing in the sky. Mature Content Warning: Sexual situations, extreme graphic violence, and coarse language abound. Due to the nature of this story, its content is not suitable for anyone.

Praise for Awakening: If you love Anne McCaffrey, J.R.R. Tolkien and Tad Williams, then Awakening is a novel you will surely want to pick up. D.N.Frost is a consummate world-builder with a knack for creating characters that are complex and three-dimensional. Frost writes with graceful prose that is descriptive and well-edited.
