"alright, everyone got their bags?" eden inquired, placing her hands on her hips. we all nodded, but my attention was being snatched at cam who sat on his phone upon the couch. he had passed up the idea of camping, leaving me to go along without him. usually it wouldn't be such a bad idea, but i wanted to spend time with him... to get closer to him so i'm sure his choice is certain. "you coming, aud?" eden peered inside, watching as i stood in solitude.
"yeah, just give me a minute." i answer, pulling my hair back in a ponytail. she nods and gives me a five minute warning. "cam, why don't you wanna come?" i pout, plopping next to him.
"the last camping trip we went on sucked. plus, i don't know about eden." his attention was still focused on his phone, ignoring my presence.
"i'm going to pack your bag. i don't care what you protest. just think about it, you'll be able to bond with your new manager. AND ME!" i shouted, running up the stairs. picking up his guitar case, i shove shirts and pants into it. my hands gripped the famous sweatshirt i adore so much with heart eyes. i slip it over my grey tank top and hug myself.
cam marched up the stairs and looked to me with disapproval and started pulling the clothing out of his guitar case. "you're such a wacko." he pushed me down onto the bed and kissed my forehead. "thanks for packing me... whatever this is."
"you're welcome!" i beamed. his eyes roll as he got out a duffel bag that was hidden in the very top of his closet. "i'm gonna go tell eden we have another passenger." he nods and shoo's me away, telling me i'm not needed anyway.

"eden, cam's gonna join us." she shook her head and slammed down the trunk. "is he not allowed to now?"
"oh he's allowed to. he's just such a dick." i nodded, watching as she got into the passenger side.
"he is such a dick." my voice came out as only a whisper as i watched him stalk out with his duffel bag and his guitar case. "guitar?"
"campfire songs?" the trunk opened up and we pushed the bags around, attempting to make room inside of the packed vehicle.
when i crawled into the van, for the first time i felt congruity. like everyone was at peace with each other. their laughs were gleeful and they weren't insulting each other for once.. "what are you thinking about?" fitz asked as he buckled himself in.
"these amazing people inside of this car."
"only weeks ago you were calling us losers." we both shared the chattering behind us, enjoying the conversation.
here's to another scuffed road trip.
dad? where are you?

"tell me about oregon." swags leaned forward, resting his head on cam's seat. "like, why the fuck you moved there." i shake my head and rolled down the window.
"i moved to oregon because i thought it was going to bring me the happiness i lost. don't get me wrong, the scenery was absolutely stunning, but it was overwhelming with the amount of people and prices. plus, i don't like to reach that far into my memories." they all inspected me, taking a moment to render up questions.

"how come there's no past with you? like no enemies, no other ex boyfriends... nothing? you're a mystery to us." eden commented, turning back slightly to poke herself in.
"well... i've had other relationships. serious ones." they hummed, listening to me. "i dated this girl, jenny. she was a cutie, but didn't really understand what was really happening between us. so i ended that shit." i scoffed. "dated another guy for a year." my face lit up with the thought of him. "myles was his name. he was the most considerate guy i've e-ever been with. he took me on extraordinary dates, bought me my favorite flowers. oh man what more could i want? but i was more of a side chick than a main chick. we dated for quite some time, but he never told me he was married. needless to say, our relationship was very illegal. he lied about his age, his relationship status, everything. when i found out, i went and straight up told his wife. it was fucked. i couldn't believe it."
"oh boys cowies!" mason banged on the window as we passed a herd of them. they sat there, eating grass so peacefully.
"after that, i started to move around a bit. i didn't just stay in oregon the whole time." i sighed. "during my time of hopping around i found a legit guy. name was ezra. cheeky little bastard. he never knew what to say to set the moment right. but yet he was so sweet. i don't know. he had that type of dry humor that really gave me hard belly laughs. i'm not sure what ended it between us. but something ended up getting in the way."
the boys all looked to each other, deciding whether they would question something i had said.
"let's camp!" eden squealed, jumping out of the van as we arrived at the camp grounds. me and cam exchanged a look, both having something or other to do with the trip. only his was most likely disgust whilst mine was full of excitement.

"damn fitz, we didn't know you were coming..." eden sighed, looking at the plethora of tents that decorated the rocky ground. "you're gonna have to share a tent."
"how is he even going to fit into one?" i joked, poking his shoulder as he huffed with annoyance. "i bet mason would love to share a room with his dad." he eyed me, a look of displeasure causing me to burst into a fit of laughter.
"okay mason, i'm coming in!" cam suddenly shouts, diving into the tent. groaning emitted from the tent along with an assortment of curses.
i shook my head with a smirk and went off to my tent.
"so, are you and cam, like dating?" eden popped in, sitting on the air mattress that surrounded me. my thoughts being bombarded with the question i denied when we were lying in the park.
"no, we aren't."
