《clueless | goodguyfitz |》chapter 27

sitting in the aiport, my hands began to fiddle with each other, nervously awaiting matt to come pick me and mason up so we could meet his new girlfriend. hell, i haven't even met matt in real life.
"oh man." mason groaned, sniffing the air to smell the thick scent of coffee and donuts. "i'm starving, camy." rolling my eyes, i place my hand on the 13 year olds shoulder. he's always hungry. and when i saw always, i mean always.
"i'm sure matt will have something to eat." mason rubbed his stomach, ignoring my comments. "america is... different." i chuckled, looking at the first couple people i could see. "the air is strange. like i can't decipher whither it's heavier or lighter."
"oh man, i'm just craving some fucking mexi! ahh." people glared at us as they smoked their cigarettes, talking over their phones and complaining about the daily traffic.
pulling my gaze over to a red, 2009 toyota, matt looked at me from the inside, and giant grin plastered across his pale face. "ayee!" he chimed, rolling down the window as we approached the car. "climb in." we do as told and sit in silence as matt drove us around. it wasn't comfortable silence either. "so, how was the flight?"
"fine. there was an annoying fucking old lady who had a little yappy dog with her." mason complained, banging his head on the back of my seat. "wanted to strange the little guy." matt chuckled and sipped on his bottled water.
"so, the plan for tonight is," he sighed, setting down his water. "we're going over to my girlfriends house, i want to introduce y'all to her." mason tapped on my shoulder, an evil smirk on his face. "her parents are at work, so i was thinking, i could hook us up with some beer, i don't know, what do you guys think?"

"i mean... not to be over protective, but mason is 13." i state, looking back to the irritated boy. matt hums, agreeing with my decision.
"you're right. plus, audrey is pretty young too."
once matt knocked a couple times, a young girl answered the door. a short jean skirt and a black shirt tucked into it, along with a choker and necklace with a cross. her hair was braided on both sides. sighing, my eyes inspected the girl. i mean, she's pretty... i guess. i'm not sure. she's not ugly, but she's not pretty either. "aye," i mumbled, watching as her eyes wondered all over me.
zoning out, my mind was circulating with the thought of alcohol. i know it wouldn't be a good idea for mason and audrey to drink, but what about me and matt?
after sitting around for a 30 minutes playing truth or truth, everyone finally went silent. "got any real food?" mason questioned, sliding off of the couch.
"matt..." audrey whined, leaning her head against his shoulder. "will you take us to go get some food?" rolling his eyes, matt pushes himself off of the couch and walked over to the door.
"let's go."

"can i get six nuggets?" the australians voice filled my ears as we sat in the car. "do you want anything camy?" shaking my head, i clasp my hand over his cheek.
"i'm fine buddy, i'm just fine." i smirked, listening as matt told the person our order. once we pulled up to he window, mason turned to me, his eyes focusing on me while his eyebrows furrowed. "what is it?" he shrugged and looked away. obviously something was on his mind, but he wasn't telling me. "cunt." i whisper under my breath.

"we need to talk once we get to the site again." he finally lets out, staring out the window as matt gives away his money to the worker. now mason has me worried, i'm not use to seeing the bastard so calm.
whilst we drove back, matt boosted up the music, singing along to some freddie dredd song. occasionally, i would bob my head along, but it was mostly matt singing and mason slapping the palms of his hands against his thighs.
once we sat down at the camp site, mason started munching on his nuggets, humming at the delicious food. "oh man." tapping my fingers on my knees, i kept my focus on the fire in front of me. "you ight?" mason chirped.
"yeah, yeah. just thinking." i reply, watching as matt mindlessly crawled into his tent. "so, what was it you wanted to talk about, cunt?"
"audrey." he whispered, moving his chair closer to mine. the 19 year old swallowed his food and sipped on his drink.
"she loves you." i chuckled, shaking my head and waving my hand at him. "she confessed it to me, don't be such a retard."
"zuckles, she just yelled at me the other day-"
"so? people argue. it's not all sunshine and rainbows all the time." i feel like i've said that exact same thing. "shit, you guys were arguing about your feelings anyway. and she obviously felt so strongly that she had to yell at you about them." damn. why was he right? was the idiot of the group smarter than me at times?
watching as she tumbled out of her tent, a small smile grew on her lips. i haven't seen her since our quarrel, but it didn't seem to affect her. "s'mores?" she inquired, sitting beside me.
"can you go get them, mase? they are in the trunk." mason nods in agreement, slowly standing to start his journey to the van. "so, what's up?"
"dinner. thursday. 8:00 pm. you pick me up at my house. surprise me with the place." her eyes met mine, a devilish grin on her face. "doesn't need to be fancy, either."
"woah, who said-"
"give me a chance?" the american batted her eyelashes and frowned. "please?"
"fuck." i breathed out, looking to the ground. "okay, i'll be there."
"you act like it's such a horrible thing." she scoffed, fiddling with the chairs strings that hung loose. "if you really don't want to-"
"i'm just giving you a hard time."
