A/N:
Of course it's Fai, shouldn't be Phana.
Of course Wayo is having a girlfriend. Just because this BL story and I make a crack pair, doesn't mean that I give the single left to the other single left from the original pairing.
My storyline is very predictable already. I don't want another predictable thing on it.
*
Phana is already reaching his class.
"Then I will wait for you here and we can talk after you finish your classes." Ming says.
Phana's movement in walking in his class stopped. He turns to face Ming again. He has flat expression on his face. "Don't you have class?"
Ming nods. "But I need to talk to you." He says.
"It's apparently that easy for you to drop your responsibilities as a student just because you think you need to do something else." Phana hisses.
"But this is important, I have to...."
"Your parents didn't send you to study here to waste their money on your missing classes." Phana adds. "I don't want to talk with irresponsible people."
Ming is stunned. "But I...."
Phana turns around and walks in the class, ignoring Ming.
Ming pulls his hair in distress but then he left to attend his class.
For God sake! Phana is something!!
*
When Ming drops by to Faculty of Medicine in the afternoon after all his classes, he can't find Phana anywhere.
"Where are you?" Ming asks Phana through a text because Phana didn't pick up his call. "I am in your Faculty after finishing all my classes."
"I already went home."
"Home? Why didn't you wait for me?"
Phana doesn't reply.
Ming sighs. He gets back to his car and then drives to Phana's dorm.
*
Ming stands in front of Phana's door while cursing himself. He forgot to buy a flower, chocolate and every gift he should have bought to beg for forgiveness.
He just wants to talk.
He didn't even take a shower first and still in his uniform with his dark blue tie which has been taken off.
He is a mess now.
"For fuck sake, Ming, why can't you do this one right?" Ming curses himself.
Just then a delivery man stops beside Ming. "Excuse me." He says.
Ming looks at him. He notices the wrap. It's a ramen from the place where he was taking Phana to eat out. The one which Phana said is not better than the ramen near Beam's place.
"Let me get that for you. I was going to knock as well." Ming says.
"It was unpaid."
Ming takes out his wallet. "Here." He hands money to the delivery man. "I will take from here and you can keep the change."
The delivery man hands the food to Ming.
Ming takes a deep breath before knocking the door with a bowl of ramen in his hand.
KNOCK KNOCK.
"Delivery!"
The door is opened.
Phana stands still seeing Ming in front of him with a bowl of ramen. He looks at the hallway but no one seen. He looks at Ming again.
Ming smiles awkwardly. "Please, let me talk to you."
Phana blinks.
Ming raises the ramen bowl. "This is hot, by the way."
Phana sighs. He opens the door and let Ming walks in. "How much was the ramen? I haven't pay for it."
"Ah, it's okay."
"It's not okay. How much?" Phana asks coldly.
Ming gulps. "I... don't know. I told the delivery man to keep the change."

Phana sighs.
Ming put the bowl on the dining table. "Do you want water to complete your dinner?"
"I can get it myself. Thank you." Phana says flatly. And then he points at the door.
Ming shakes his head. "I need to talk to you."
Phana sighs. Again. And then he sits in the dining chair. "About what?"
"About your dinner invitation." Ming says, almost stuttered.
"You already turned it down. There's not much to talk about." Phana says flatly. He doesn't smile nor frown. Still shows nothing in his face.
Ming gulps. He doesn't dare to even sit without Phana's invitation. "Do you know that Wayo likes... loves you since high school?"
Phana looks up to Ming. "Wayo? The Moon of Science? I don't think so."
"He does, I mean... did." Ming takes a long deep breath. He doesn't know where to start. He is troubled. Every flirting tricks he has seems useless right now. He closes his eyes for enough time to calm himself down but failing.
"Do you need to sit down? You looked pale." Phana says.
"Thank you." Ming hurriedly sits down. He interlocks his fingers and put it on the table.
Phana eats the ramen slowly. He made no attempt to start the conversation at all.
Ming smiled sadly."Wayo is your junior in high school. I moved to your high school in third grade, so I never became your junior. But I know everything about you. There is no day when Wayo doesn't tell me about you. How perfect you are in all subjects .. good at playing basketball ... very handsome. Everything." He says almost in whispers.
Phana looks at Ming.
Ming blinks. He looks back at Phana. He missed the eyes staring at him with a smile. "Wayo loves you but he does not dare to express his feelings to you because he knows that you are not interested in men."
Phana said nothing. The right word is that he is not interested in a relationship at all. For him it was useless and just wasted his time.
"I ... intend to help Wayo by changing your view of same-sex relationships." Ming said. "So I ask what you think of that. Not to make it an open debate material." He pauses. "But you seemed not to get the point easily."
Phana chews his ramen slowly.
Ming blinks. He smiled, again sadly. "The more I get to know you, the more I can see how you are just like another people. You have your own insecurities, you were just work harder than everyone else to overcome it. You should see your face when you were so afraid to meet with the professor Aunty." He laughs sadly. Because he knows he probably won't have the chance to see that kind of expression anymore.
Phana blinks. He sees how Ming's eyes are getting teary. "So... you were being nice with me because you are in the middle of helping Wayo?"
Ming is fast to wipe it before it rolls down and wet his cheek. He tries to smile. "Funny tho, I forget about it at all." He says. "It's fun being with you. You have your own antics that everyone failed to see because they only see your perfection. It's hard to skip that one, but...." He again, smiles ever more sadly. "... then Wayo told me that he is going to confess on the stage during his final performance."
Phana stops eating his ramen. He put his whole attention to Ming's words.

"I felt like I was struck by lightning that time." Ming says. "I felt guilty, I felt... I don't know how I felt." He shakes his head. "But damn, his performance was reeeally good. He put everything on it, his feeling." He blinks and a set of tear almost fall, he again, hurriedly wipe it and smile it out. "No way it won't reach you... I can see you enjoy it like everyone else."
Of course Phana enjoys a piano play, he likes piano play.
"I can't accept your dinner invitation that night because... Wayo is going to confess. He is my bestfriend and he loves you. So.... I left." Ming says. He takes a very long deep breath. "I don't know what I expected that night. I just went with my Engineering mates and celebrated my victory as Campus Moon. But I didn't feel like I'm wining when Wayo told me that he did it, that he got a lover."
Phana blinks.
"I was just assuming. I am too afraid to confirm. And I didn't see it any other way anyway. Wayo loves you soooo much. And I...." Ming sighs. He presses his hands against his forehead. "I thought you were being nice with me as Wayo's boyfriend the past week. I was trying to put myself on my place. I don't want to be a jerk and I still feel guilty for having a feeling for my bestfriend's lover."
Phana doesn't know what to say.
"I thought you were just being nice with me along the time we've been hanging out together." Ming says as he put his hands back on the table. "Wayo said that if only you ever have someone in your heart, it would be P'Beam."
Phana blinks. Dear Lord, Beam is his biggest problem. Why would he put a problem in his heart?
"I was happy when I saw you bought that ramen, by the way." He says with a slightly cracking voice while point at the ramen. "Remember the first time I took you to that place? I asked whether it was better than the one near P'Beam's dorm—the one you usually had, P'Beam's favorite. I remember your answer: not really."
Phana blinks.
"I was in a bad mood for the rest of the night."
Phana looks at Ming.
Ming takes a long deep breath. "Turned out that Wayo's lover is Fai, my classmates. Wayo was moving on from you and he dates her." He blinks. "I wish I have the courage to face Wayo when he told me he is going to introduce me to his lover, so I would know it wasn't you. But I was too afraid. I even skipped two classes running from him."
Phana flinched hearing it.
"Just yesterday! Today I was going back to my Faculty and skip no class! I swear." Ming hurriedly says.
Phana takes a long deep sighs and then continues eating his ramen.
"I should have bought roses and chocolates before meeting you. But I can't think of anything other than wanting to see you as soon as possible." Ming said softly.
Phana already chews his food.
"Does it make a difference whether I am or not next to you?" Ming asked cautiously. He was afraid that Phana's answer would hurt him.
Phana blinks. "Actually the difference is very big. But I don't think for you it will make any difference."
"Yeah? Why is that?" Ming asks.
Phana was eager to shower Ming with spicy words. He knows from Ming's social media, Ming can change girlfriends four times in one month. Ming is also good at saying sweet and often seductive unconsciously.
He was angry much how Ming ignores him last week and made him felt sad.
Extremely sad.
Sad can not even describe what he felt.
But Ming in front of him is not saying sweet words. He was just telling what happened as it is.
Can Phana continue to be angry with someone who feels guilty towards her best friend and tries her best to keep her distance from him for that reason?
Would Phana prefer that Ming was the one who snatched it from Wayo? –If indeed he was with Wayo.
Phana can't.
"I think I'm just one of your many ... friends." finally Phana used neutral words. "Even if there isn't me, you have tons of friends. Especially now that you're a Campus Moon."
Ming laughs dryly. "Yeah, ... I can see how any Campus Moon had lots of friends and was very good at getting along." he said sarcastically. "Look at you, you are great in making friends."
Phana blinks. He slides his bowl closer to Ming. "I promised you dinner. But I only have this for now, would you mind if we share?"
Ming blinks. He looks at Phana in his eyes. "I mind if again you only thought me as your friend."
"How about as my junior Campus Moon?" Phana asks.
"I still mind." Ming says.
Phana blinks. "I will let you call me 'Phana' again and drop the seniority call."
Ming is silent.
"I will take you to proper dinner next time." Phana adds.
Ming blinks. His eyes got teary. "Gosh, don't you have a heart?" He asks in a cracking voice.
Phana shrugs. "Do you want the ramen or not?" He offers a spoonful of ramen with his hand.
Ming sighs. He eats from Phana's hand.
Silence.
Ming looks at Phana. Looked like Phana is not mad at him again. But he's not sure if this is the right time to.... "Was that true tho... if only you ever have someone in your heart, it would be P'Beam...?"
Phana blinks. He looks at Ming. Different than Ming usually is—very confidence, Ming looked not sure and scared.
Phana shakes his head. He offers some more ramen from his spoon.
Ming takes it. He eats it.
Phana says nothing more.
Ming sighs. He nearly asks again but then he closes his mouth again. Maybe he should take it slow. He should be careful. Phana should not be mad at him again. "Do you really going to take me to a real dinner?"
Phana nods.
Ming chews slowly. Tear breaks in his eyes again. He is so scared. He hurriedly wipes it. "There's a new movie played. Would you like to watch it with me?"
"Why? Because your bestfriend has girlfriend and he would watch with her so you have no other option?" Phana returns the question. "I believe Engineering has thousands of students. Take one."
Ming shakes his head. He tries to smile. "I want to watch it with you."
Phana blinks. "I planned to watch it with Beam and Kit, you are welcomed to join."
Ming looks away from Phana. "Ah." And then he looks down. He wipes his eyes again.
Is this as far as he goes...?
Was he too ahead of himself when Phana acted friendly?
"You don't want to?" Phana asks.
"No... no, I mean... I want to. Of course. Would be fun." Ming answers, still looking down. He scoffs hard to swallow all his tears.
"My friends are yet to know you." Phana continues. "It would be a good opportunity to know each other better."
Ming nods.
Phana bites his lower lip. Ah. Why would he....
Tsk. Ming would just find another new boyfriend even he can make Ming as his for now.
He would cry more than....
Just let it go, Pha....
"Mingkwan...." But Phana can't stop himself from calling Ming softly.
Ming looks up to Phana. "Yes?"
"I was trying to court you but you ruined it." Phana says.
Ming is stunned. "Huh?"
Phana blinks. "What about you court me instead?"
Ming laughs. Relieved, in disbelief and happy. "Are you for real? This is suuuuper awkward."
Phana smiles. "I thought you like awkward."
Ming chuckles. He wipes the rest of the tears in the corner of his eyes.
"Forth will kill you if he knew you cried." Phana says.
"I know. Shut up. Don't tell him."
Phana chuckles.
Ming takes off the bracelet in his wrist. "I was thinking about you the whole night they talked about this fucking gear." He says. "Just for you know, I had to hide because girls didn't stop confessing to me at the same night. I didn't accept any of them. Maybe I should if I knew you would let me crying."
Phana nods. "Yeah, maybe you should."
Ming takes Phana's right hand. He put the gear on Phana's wrist. "This is Engineering student's symbol of commitment, it represents Engineer's heart. Is not as fancy as diamond bracelet that Wayo gave his girlfriend. Maybe you shouldn't let him stop loving you. He is rich."
"Yeah, maybe I should not." Phana says that but he let Ming put the gear bracelet on his wrist.
Ming laughs. He looks up to Phana. "It's too late tho, you already asked me to court you." He brushes lightly on the gear on Phana's wrist. "You really want the courting first? It would be awesome if you let me be your boyfriend already."
Phana clicks his tongue.
Ming leans closer to Phana. "You will introduce me as your boyfriend when we go to watch the movie together, right? It would be awkward if you introduced me as someone who courts you. Agreeing to a courting is as good as accepting."
Phana squints his eyes.
Ming could have been lied.
Ming probably not lying, but this feeling could have been not lasted forever.
Ming could have been hurt Phana like he just did.
Not replying his message already made him hurt so much, he could probably hurt him more—intended or not.
Ming could have been changed his mind.
Phana blinks.
Ming's fingers still play with the gear bracelet in Phana's wrist. Both Ming's hands are holding Phana's hands.
Ah, fuck it.
Phana leans closer to Ming and pecks Ming on his lips lightly.
For the first time in his life, Phana does something even he knows for sure the risk probably higher than the gain.
Ming blinks.
Phana smiled when he leans off of Ming. "Try not to make me cry anymore. It hurts so much when I thought you were just playing with me."
Ming nods. "I am sorry, I am sooo stupid." He says in a cracking voice. And then he smiled too. "I'll try my best to always put a smile on your face, Phana."
"Hm."
Ming leans to kiss Phana again. "Thank you, baby."
"Hm...."
***
A/N:
Too easy? Should Phana put a revenge first? Hurt Ming worse, for example.
But then.... Why would he intend to hurt the person he love?
I will fart back at my husband, but I won't intentionally hurt him for what he did.
If he made me jealous (which he never and it pribably just because I was too over protective against girl who like him), I won't intentionally make him jealous as a revenge. It's not right.
