《Mondays (Jensoo Convert)》"Why couldn't have you come to my life lil' sooner?"

Instead of going to Yeri's house, Jisoo decided that it'd be best to keep Jennie company. She didn't want to leave the girl in that state all alone. It wasn't right.
"Jisoo, I'm fine." Jennie sighed as she entered her house. She dropped her keys on the table and turned to face the pale girl.
"We've been through this, Jennie." Jisoo replied sternly, folding her arms across her chest. "I'm staying."
"This isn't the first time you know." The other girl huffed. Jisoo took a large breath in and out.
"I can't leave you alone, Jendeukie." She said softer.
"I can handle it. I'm a big girl." Jennie retorted stubbornly.
"But I can't!" Jisoo remarked. "I can't, Jennie. Me. I can't leave you alone knowing that you're hurting. You're hurting! And I don't know..." She closed her eyes briefly before meeting Jennie's broken brown eyes. "I don't know how to make it better." She choked.
"You don't need to fix me, Ji-" The brown-eyed girl tried to protest.
"I'm not trying to fix you, Jendeukie. I just want you to feel better." Jisoo jumped in. "Please. Let me."
Jennie stared at her teammate for a moment. She saw sincerity through Jisoo's eyes. It still amazed her how the girl in front of her would go to the ends of the world just to make her happy, even if she kept pushing her away.
"Okay." She muttered under her breath. "You can stay."
-
"Jisoo, how are you going to tell me that you aren't going to your own party?" Jisoo cowered as she heard one of her best friend's hiss through the phone.
"I know. I know. But something came up, Yeri." Jisoo tried to explain.
"Is this something more important than your party?" Yeri challenged. "Jisoo, you got accepted to Stanford!"
"I know."
"Not only that! They asked you to play for them. They are like one of the top volleyball teams in the country. We need to celebrate."
"Can't we celebrate another day or something?"
There was a slight pause followed by a loud groan. "Are you serious?"
"Please. I really need to do this."
"Fine." Yeri agreed. "Did you tell Jennie yet? She's going to be so stoked for you."
"I didn't." Jisoo bit her nail nervously as she clutched the phone tighter. "I'm waiting until she hears back from the college."
"Oh."
"Yeah..." She opened the bathroom door slightly and searched for the girl. She found Jennie sprawled in her bad with headphones on staring blankly at her textbook. She leaned her head against the doorframe and sighed. "To be honest, I don't know how to tell her."

"Jisoo you're going to have to tell her even if she doesn't get in. What's it going to be sooner or later? I would prefer sooner... like you know before we graduate." Yeri consulted.
"I guess. It's just that she's dealing with a lot right now..."
"What are you talking about?"
"Ummm... it's not my place to tell. I think she should tell you."
"Wait. Are you with her right now?"
"Maybe." Jisoo smirked.
"Wipe that smirk off your face, Kim. She still has a girlfriend you know." The voice on the line chuckled.
The captain's smile fell. Just hearing that word made her blood boil with anger. Yeri was right Jennie was still with Irene. How could she be with a girl that brings her pain every passing day? Jennie had been nothing but loyal and faithful girlfriend.
"Hello? Jisoo?" The brown-eyed girl heard from her speaker. "Are you there?"
She cleared her throat. "I'm here, Yeri. I've got to go though..."
"Okay... Send Jennie my best."
"I will. Have fun with the girls."
Jisoo hanged up and slid her phone in her back pocket. She walked out of Jennie's bathroom over to where the girl laid and kneeled down in front of her. She crossed her arms laying it on top of her teammate's sheets.
Jennie averted her gaze from the book to the pale girl staring at her. She quirked an eyebrow and pulled out her headphones. "Can I help you?"
"Actually, I think it's the other way around." Jisoo retorted. "Do you need help?"
"Nope." Jennie replied, popping out the 'p' and plugging her earphones back in her ears. She looked back down to the text and tried to read. She felt eyes boring right through, lifting her gaze once more meeting a pair of sparkling eyes. "You're distracting me."
"How?" Jisoo asked innocently with a goofy smile.
"Stop staring."
"You're not even reading!"
"Yes I am!" Jennie defended, shocked at Jisoo's false accusations, even if the accusations were in fact true.
"You've been on that page since I left to talk to Yeri in the bathroom! And that was 45 minutes ago." The taller girl scorned.
Jennie frowned at her teammate and sat up. She grabbed the book and slammed it close. "I couldn't concentrate." She confessed.
Jisoo examined Jennie's face and understood. Irene. "Do you want to talk about it?"
The younger shook her head side to side.
"That's fine. We can talk about something else." Jisoo assured, climbing up in the bed and settling down next to Jennie. "Soo... what do you want to talk about?"

"I want to talk about why you skipped your party?" Jennie scolded, taking Jisoo by complete surprise.
"You knew?" The pale exasperated with wide eyes.
"Everyone on the team knew." Jennie laughed softly. "It was supposed to be a surprise... but I guess word got around back to you."
Jisoo brought a hand to the back of her neck. "Our team isn't exactly the best at keeping secrets." She ridiculed.
"Jisoo, I am extremely proud of you for getting in Stanford. That's a huge accomplishment and getting in their volleyball program is a bigger deal!" Jennie praised pulling the girl in an embrace. She rested her chin on Jisoo's shoulder and spoke, "You deserve it."
"Thanks, Jendeukie." Jisoo mumbled as she tugged the other girl's shirt. Seeing Jennie so affectionate was all so new to her so grabbed on the feeling hoping it would last forever. However, all good things must end. After a couple more seconds Jennie heaved back and flashed a warm smile at her teammate.
"Now that's over with," she grins clapping her hands together. "How about you help me with some math, you big nerd."
"Oh now you want some help." Jisoo snorted.
"I felt guilty for holding you back!"
"You didn't hold me back; I chose to stay with you."
"I needed a clear conscience before I took advantage of you."
"Babe, you can use me whenever you want." The pale girl answered with an impish grin making Jennie scrunch her nose.
"Okay, gross."
-
Jennie turned her head and smiled as she watched Jisoo in deep slumber. The way the girl's lips parted just a little bit and her long, dark eyelashes flinching every now and then. She had to admit, her co-captain was beautiful in so many ways.
"Jendeukie..." The girl murmured in her sleep. Jisoo giggled and shifted her position, now facing Jennie. "Stop it! You're so bad..."
Her brown eyes widen as her cheeks heated up when those words escaped Jisoo's mouth. She moved slightly away from the other girl, feeling uneasy with the thought that her teammate is having a very inappropriate dream about her.
"Oh Jisoo." Jennie sighed, extending her arm out to brush a stray hair covering Jisoo's face. ""

Flashback
" Whatcha staring at?" Lisa queried curiously, turning her head to where Jennie was focused on.
"Jisoo." Jennie responded casually, nodding over to the girl helping a little boy get a kite down stuck on a tree. She felt a jerk in her heart as Jisoo jumped off the tree and hand the little boy the kite with a smile.
Lisa whipped her head around and gaped at her teammate. Never in the two years they've known each other that Jennie had admitted anything. She placed a hand on the girl's forehead and gasped.
"I think you're catching a cold!" She teased.
Jennie rolled her eyes at the girl and flicked her hand off her head. "Can't I admire heroism?"
"It depends..." Lisa shrugged before glancing smugly at Jennie. "Are you staring at her ass or in her soul?"
"C'mon, Nini. Just admit it. You have a little tiny small crush on our best outside player."
"I do not. I repeat. I do not have a crush on Jisoo." Jennie scoffed, averting her attention to the girl
"Keep telling yourself that, Nini." Lisa snickered.
Jisoo sauntered towards the two girls with a handful of daises in her hand. She wore a toothy grin as she gave it to Jennie.
"Here." She rasped.
"W-what's this for?" Jennie reluctantly took the flowers from the pale girl's hand.
"Does there have to be a reason?" Jisoo countered with a smirk plastered on her face.
"SMOOTH OPERATOR OVER HURRR!" Lisa hollered as she pointed at Jisoo. Some heads turned towards the trio causing two of the girls to turn red.
"Lisa!" Jisoo nagged, reaching for the tall girl's ears and pulling it down.
"Ow! Ow! Ow!" Lisa grumbled as Jisoo dragged her away from Jennie.
"Sorry!" The short girl apologized to the people in the park. "She had too much sugar!"
The strangers shook their heads in disapproval as they turned away from the brown-eyed girl. She slowly backed away and scanned the area in search of her two teammates. She let out a chuckle when she found Jisoo talking to Lisa in a serious matter. Only then did Jennie remember the daisies in her hand. She looked down at the flowers before bringing it up to her nose to take a whiff of the sweet scent. She found herself smiling, something she hasn't done after she found out about Irene.
"JENDEUKIE!" She heard causing her to snap her head up. Jisoo waved her over, her brown orbs locking on to chocolate ones. "BANQUET'S STARTING!"
Jennie thought before she made her way over to the team. That's when she realized, maybe having a crush on Jisoo wasn't so bad.

Which is the real world? Is he in a game? A simulation? And who actually is his online friend Barry. This humorous, harem LitRPG story is the first story by experienced author Jamie Haremie under this pen name. Jamie has previously written horror and romance (sometimes together!) as well as tons and tons of riveting TPS reports. (Late 90s cultural reference? CHECK). Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
