《Prince's Assassin Mate ✔》Chapter 19

Writers POV
He watched her retreat as she walked triumphantly towards the castle, covered in the blood of the wolves she had just killed. He noticed how her eyes shone with the desire and determination to kill the female he once had. As he didn't go to their room that night, he noticed a glint of hurt in her eyes. Looking straight into his eyes, he saw how mercilessly she took the female's life. He couldn't help but be turned on by how predatory she appeared while fighting those warriors. But he didn't like how she disrespected him by killing Bethany despite his warnings. She must learn a lesson, he thought. He stood up and left the battleground, on his way to their bedroom to have a chat with his he was halted by his Beta and Gamma. He ended up in his office for much-needed paperwork and by the time he finally left for his bedroom, it had been a few hours. He was still in his Royal attire when he entered the bedroom. Ariel sat under a pile of blankets, stuffing her face with food and staring blankly at the television. She could feel him enter the room but didn't look. Aiden threw down his Royal Robes and set the crown on the bedside table.
He stood there staring at her, but she didn't return his gaze.
"Look at me, Ariel," he says sternly as he steps in front of her. She raises her head and gazes into his sapphire blue eyes. His jaw was clenched
"Did you really have to kill Bethany? When I told you not to!?"
"She was in possession of something that did not belong to her."
"But I warned you not to!"
"Tell me, Your Highness, what would you do if I fucked someone behind your back?" She asks tilting her head
"I would rip him apart limb by limb and feed him to the vultures,"
"There, it justifies my actions then." She moves a little and stares at the tv again. Aiden doesn't move and keeps staring at her with stern eyes
"Still have something to say, Your Highness? Or are you just mad that I killed two of your bed buddy's right in front of you?" She lifts her head slightly giving him a challenging look and Aiden clenches his jaw looking back at her
"Well looks like His Highness is mad." She puts down the plate of food and stands up on the bed in front of him.
"Let me make this clear for you, I will kill every single soul you had with you in your bed and I will kill them right in front of your eyes. Like I said earlier, I don't share and I won't leave alive who even dares to look at something that doesn't belong to them. Take that as a threat." She leaps from the bed, but Aiden grabs her wrist and pulls her closer to him. His warm breath was fanning over her head, and her heart began to race as he got closer. He lightly brushes his nose against the nip of her neck, inhaling a whiff of her enticing scent, and says in husky tones,

"I love it when you become so possessive, Ari. That makes me feel desired!" He lightly touches her earlobe with his lips, and she stiffens.
"I wasn't being possessive; I was just showing people where they belonged." He lightly kisses her behind the ears, and she whimpers slightly, Aiden smirks at how much effect he has on her. She and her beasts are on the verge of antsy after being separated from him for over a week. And now when he was close and giving them all his attention, her beasts were purring in delight.
"Is that so?" He asks as he kisses her neck, and she tilts her head subconsciously, giving him more room to work with.
"Mmhmm," she hums, as he lightly kisses his temporary mark, sending a jolt of pleasure through her body as he begins sucking over the spot. The bond sparking their bond to life. But then he comes to a halt, and after a few moments, he places his forehead on hers and sighs. He says almost breathlessly
"You have no idea what you do to me by doing absolutely nothing."
"I have to go work, I'll see you later tonight, my beautiful mate," he says softly with a lingering kiss on her forehead. He walks away, closing the door behind him. She closes the door and sinks to the floor, drawing her knees closer to her chest. After sitting quietly for a while, she bangs her head on the wooden door continually as if that would help her forget her pain.
"Why do you have to be so cruel to me, Goddess?" she sits for hours on the carpeted floor, recalling what happened just a few hours ago,
A few hours earlier
Even though the sun was shining brightly outside, the room was cold and misty. The voice sent shivers down her spine. She wished it wasn't who she thought it was, but when she turned around, she saw the devil! Standing there, in front of her! In her mate's bedroom. Even though she knew it wasn't him, just a silhouette of him, she knew what he was capable of even in this form. Her face was devoid of emotion, and his smug expression was quickly replaced with anguish.
"Where are your manners, mutt?" His tone was harsh and stern. She quickly lowered her head and knelt in front of him. Her beasts were growling in protest, but they couldn't do anything. Her gaze was drawn to the floor, where she noticed his shoes making their way towards her. He yanked her hair and yanked her head up grabbing her hair, forcing her to look at him.
"You belong here, knelt on the ground, covered in blood." He smirked and continued,
"Looks like you're not missing your old life, your Prince has you covered." She doesn't respond or even looks him in the eyes. He releases his stone grip on her hair, and she returns her gaze to the floor, while he walks back while fixing his calves. He returns his attention and continues to speak.

"Enough chit-chat; let's get down to business."
"Yes, master," she says robotically.
"You've been a really bad dog lately you know? You didn't complete your assignment nor did you report back." He said pacing with his hands in his expensive suit pants.
"I couldn't find you nor did you come back, you even killed the man I sent to fetch you," he finished his sentence and her eyes shot up in confusion
"The King's Guards are very cheap and easy to buy," he said in a bored tone and it was quickly changed with a devilish flicker and she looked down,
"Now, let's discuss your punishment for disobedience and disrespecting your master." He tilted his head and looked down at her
"I want no you will assassinate your mate Prince Aiden for me," Ariel's eyes shot up and a vicious growl shook the room, her beasts were in front of her mind and they were ready to tear apart the man limb by limb in front of them. Her eyes glowed bright and he just smirked.
"Someone's angry. Uuhhh, I'm so scared." He laughed sarcastically and went back to his stern face.
"Eyes down, mutt. You have 7 days when the sun sets on the seventh day your punishment begins. And I hope I don't need to remind you what the punishment will be." His eyes get darker and he smirked sinisterly. Ariel didn't lower her gaze and was ready to tear him apart but an invisible force was suppressing her from lunging at his silhouette. He turned around and said again,
"Seven days mutt," and he perished in thin air. The room cleared up and she collapsed on the carpeted floor. She felt as if all of her energy had been drained from her. Why must fate be so cruel to her? Why does everything good that comes her way have to be thrown away in this manner? Why does it always have to be her? No matter how many people she killed because of a simple order from him, how can she kill her own mate!
Present time
As night fell the blue haze of day lifted to reveal the stars. Ariel always felt that this was closer to the truth of who she was. Amid the starlight was the ever glow of the moon, that mother of the sky who watched over every beating heart, steady and true including her. But looking at the moon she always felt as though she was looking over her making sure she was suffering enough. She was standing at the enclosed balcony, staring emotionlessly towards the moon. She felt his presence behind her, he didn't say anything just stood there beside her and she was grateful for that.
"Isn't she beautiful?" She abruptly asked him
"Who?" He asked baffled
"The moon. Isn't she beautiful?"
"Yes, she is."
"Isn't she meant to protect and look over us?"
"Yes, and she does,"
"No! She always loves seeing me suffer. She made sure I always had and have enough on my plate. The Moon goddess always made sure that the fate is cruel to me." She says in a monotonous tone and Aiden turns to look at her
"What are trying to say, love?"
"Nothing," she says, and Aiden doesn't push her to explain as to what she meant. Out of the blue, he asks the question that has been in his mind for a while
"How do you know so much about our world?" She takes a glance at him and turns back to look at the moon
"Just because you think someone is something, you shouldn't make an assumption that you actually know." She turns back to stare at the moon
"I won't ask you to clarify anything, I'll wait for you to let me in,"
"Hmm," she hums in response and Aiden stares at the woman standing beside him as though she was a puzzle he wishes to solve but he just can't find the right pieces. It has been over 7 months since he found her but she's still just that stranger he found lying unconscious in the hospital bed. He sighs and offers his hand to her remembering why he came to fetch her in the first place, she looks at his hand and his face silently questioning him.
"I have something to show you, come on." She hesitantly takes his hand and he leads them out of the balcony and their room.

The White Rabbit
In the Urillian Empire, the Empress Xandra rules three-quarters of the planet Xren from her home in the capital of the Earth Continent. Both the fire and water peoples have fallen under her might after a series of wars stretching back three centuries. Earth elves, under Xandra's rule, have spread throughout the planet and established colonies, and are, by all accounts, enjoying what seems to be a prosperous and happy existence. But not everyone in Uril is happy. The holy books speak of elves as the Chosen People of Thesis, tasked with guiding and protecting the lower races. For some people, this scripture has been interpreted to designate their life as one on the lowest rungs of society. Humans have been reduced to a slave class, and serve their elven masters under Xandra's rule, kept at bay by the constant fear of the dreaded Emerald Knight, and their own perceived weakness. Humans do not lead long lives, nor do they possess the wisdom, power, or magical acumen of their elven masters. But there is hope. A group of people have banded together to fight against Xandra, her Knight, and her empire. They call themselves the "Knights of Order" united under the principle idea that Xandra's reign has brought chaos unto Xren, and they wish to restore order. These Knights are led by a man named Xaxac Brigaddon, spoken of as a legend. They say that when the moons are full, some humans transform into powerful beasts. They say that Xaxac is the most powerful warrior on Xren, that in his youth he was enslaved and forced to fight other humans to the death in a bloodsport called "cage fighting", that he could not be touched and held the world championship title for three years running until he faked his own death and escaped his master to join the resistance. They say that he has friends in high places- noblemen, pirates, and the devil himself. They say that if you can find him, he can ferry you to freedom in places where the Earth Elves fear to tread. They say that he is immune to magical attack, and his eyes shine like the silver moon. They say that he is descended from Quizlivian Brigaddon, one of the humans who helped the demon Magnus escape a god. They say that if you want to walk the Path of Order, you should follow the White Rabbit.Come and watch the transformation from human boy to Knight of Order: The life and times of Xaxac OfAgalon OfLangil Brigaddon. Content Warning: This work is based on the real experiences of human trafficing survivors. Xaxac's origins are based on true events, and they are presented realisitcally; this includes but is not limited to: isolation, gaslighting, emotional and sexual abuse, and grooming tactics. This work is meant to hold a mirror up to society; it is based on the real of experiences of people who have experienced slavery and/or abuse. It is an adult work and probably should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. If you are a survivor of human trafficing and/or abuse, your feedback is welcome, but please do not read this if you think it may trigger your trauma. I did not write this with the intention of harming anyone, but rather to provide accurate representation for a group that does not normally get it in the hopes of changing the zeitgeist. I would like to see a world where more people understand what these experiences are like, so that real survivors do not have to deal with microagressions from an ignorant public. Reader discretion is highly advised.

[unedited/discontinued] I thought the unimaginable only existed in fairy tales, and stupid redundant television shows. I never knew how wrong I was.
