《Prince's Assassin Mate ✔》Chapter 37

"We're under attack!"
"Do you have any kind of shelter for the elderly, pregnant women, and pups?" Aiden inquired as he dashed outside. Ariel grabbed her dagger just before rushing behind him.
"Yes, Alpha. It is located to the south. The fire had no effect on it."
"Good, how much time do we have and where are the enemies?"
"We haven't heard anything from the guards since the sounds came from the west. We mostly have ten minutes."
"I take them all to the shelter," Ariel said as she turned to leave.
"Take them and stay with them. I don't want you anywhere near the war zone." Aiden pulled her wrist and said firmly,
"This is my fight, Aiden. I'm not going to let you or anyone else die." She walked away. She gathered every elderly person, pregnant woman, and pup with the help of some pack members. They jolted to the shelter, and after ensuring that everyone was safe inside, she summoned the two young warriors who were present.
"I want you to protect them. Only open the doors for me and Prince Aiden. Don't trust anyone. Do you understand?" She ordered, they nodded with determination shining brightly on their faces.
"But Luna, we thought you'd stay with us!" An elderly lady stated.
"And leave the warriors alone? No, I don't think so."
"They'll have a hard time protecting you out there." She heard a mocking juvenile's voice.
"Don't worry about the warriors or me, just try to look after the wolves here with you. I and The warriors are well trained." She spun around and dashed outside. When she emerged from the shelter, she saw the Alpha male standing tall in the small open field, surrounded by wolves and Lycan warriors. He was giving them a last-minute briefing before everything went downhill. She kept her head held high as she stood next to his towering figure. The warriors swung around and positioned themselves.
"Are you sure about this? Just a few hours ago, you were in pretty bad shape." He spoke with concern, but his tone remained cold, they made their way through the warriors to the front.
"I'm sure I'm fine," she says.
The Royal warriors Aiden had summoned were in the first two rows, and behind them were the top pack warriors and behind them were the ordinary wolves who had volunteered to fight. The Alpha couple stood in the foreground, ready to lead their pack to victory. They could hear hundreds of footsteps approaching them through the dense forest in front of them. The night was quiet, and they could hear the thumps of their feet on the ground. Their heavy breathing, grunts, and grumbling could be heard loud and clear. The warriors were tense and scared. Most of them were in a battle for the first time. The sounds got closer and closer. The footsteps soon came to a halt, and three tall figures emerged from the shadows. Everyone exclaimed aloud as soon as the moonlight illuminated their faces. She could feel the air tensing up around her and Aiden stiffening by her side.
"Alpha! It's the Alpha!" chanted the crowd. Aiden clenched his fists.
"Silence!" Aiden yelled, and the battleground fell silent. Everyone gasped once more when the three figures removed their hoods. Alpha Zedan stood to the right, his face pale, a distant look in his paler eyes. By the left stood the man who had attacked her with those creatures and the Beta just a few hours earlier. When her eyes fell on him, he gave her a disgusting smirk. And in the center stood the man who had tormented her life.

"Hello, dear mutt. Master has missed you dearest one!" He extended his hands with a devilish smile, inviting her in for a hug. Aiden and the warriors growled, and Aiden wrapped his arms around her waist, drawing her in closer protectively. He drew back his hand as his smile faded.
"I never imagined you'd be on the battlefield, Malcolm!" Ariel said calmly, releasing herself from her best mate's embrace.
"Well, I just wanted to get my dearest bitch back by myself." He smirked at Aiden when he growled
"Call her that again and I will rip your tongue out!"
"Now now Alpha. Such abrasiveness is harmful to your health." The man on the left remarked slyly.
"Keep your mouth shut, physician. Otherwise, no physician on this living planet will be able to heal you!"
"Physician?" Ariel looked at Aiden and asked surprised. Aiden looked at her, but before he could respond, he was interrupted by the Physician, who said, "Please excuse my tardiness, Princess. Let me introduce myself! I'm Vladislav Marron, physician of Dawn Pack, Your Highness!" He bowed with a mocking smile on his face.
"I never thought you would commit such treason with your pack!" Aiden growled.
"Well, his loyalty lies with me Alpha. Now let's not waste my valuable time discussing who betrayed who. I just want my valuable asset, my Reaper back, and also I need you and the wolves standing behind you." He looked past them behind at the warriors. Aiden growled angrily
"You are never going to lay even a finger on her or them!"
"I have already done so, Your Highness! On her and on you Beta." Vladislav mocked.
"Sussh Johan. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way my dear. But believe me when I say there will be a lot of bloodsheds." He looked at Ariel and she snarled. Malcolm's expression becomes sterner.
"Have it your way then." Johan and Zedan took a step back, and hundreds of wolves and vampires quietly approached and formed a formation behind them. Her gaze darted around the faces. They all looked miserable like the Alpha.
"Nicon! That's my brother Nicon!"
A voice yelled from behind, Aiden turned around to see a wolf standing outside their formation pointing towards someone in front. he looked forward to where he was pointing and saw a juvenile. While his brother's face was filled with a new ray of hope, he was expressionless like everyone he was standing with. Aiden hadn't noticed but in an instant, the entire area was engulfed in a frenzy of wolves yelling the names of their loved ones. Aiden and she looked around the field and soon they realized their warriors were standing up against their own family, friends, and pack mates. Aiden growled loudly enough to shake the whole battleground and the warriors lowered their heads, falling back to their formation. He gave them time to calm themselves down.
"This is bad!" She exclaimed
"It would be worse if we don't fight." He said calmly
"Trust me, I know." She said as she looked at Johan who smirked at her. Aiden's eyes followed where she was looking and he growled lowly
"I'll take that as you have fought him before."
"I did! A few weeks before and today." She said he nodded
"Alright! Are you ready? Remember, if you even get a scratch, I'll throw you off the battlefield." He said it sternly, and she rolled her eyes.
"Worry about others. I can look after myself."

"Is everyone prepared?" He spoke loudly enough for his Royal warriors to hear him.
"Your call Alpha!" They responded
"Alright! Kill them and rip them apart limb by limb!" He said to his Royal warriors
"Attack!" He commands, and they rush in, bombarding them all at once. But it didn't seem to affect them.
"Kill them!" Malcolm commands calmly, and the creatures shift in an instant, including Zedan. The warriors and creatures charged at each other, but she had her gaze fixed on Malcolm alone. Through the corner of her eyes, she saw Aiden shifted mid-air and lunge at the creatures ripping their head off, clawing their flesh, tearing them piece by piece. His beast looked glorious, he was a pitch-black Lycan, standing above all the warriors, fighting gracefully. When she turned her gaze to Malcolm, he took a step back, an evil smirk on his face. Malcolm petted Zedan's wolf, like a dog as he walked up to him and lowered his head and Johan simply stood next to Malcolm. She accelerated her pace as she ran towards them. Before she could reach them, creatures arose in front of her, blocking her trail. She drew her dagger, clutching it tightly in her hand. She dashed past the warriors who were fighting. Just by looking at them fight, she could tell they were not fighting to their full potential. She doesn't blame them for that but this could get them killed with their pack mates.
The creatures lunge at her, and she leaps into the air, turning in mid-air, and slashes their spinal cord with a single blow of her sharp dagger. As she jumped and ran through them, they fell limp one by one to the cold ground. She slashed the creatures one by one until her path was clear, at which point she rushed to Malcolm, tilting her head. Malcolm cast a glance to her right, and she followed his gaze. Her eyes widened as she noticed five creatures circling Aiden's beast, all ready to attack him at the same time. Malcolm smirked devilishly at her, and her eyes hardened. As the creatures circled him like feral animals, snapping their sharp canines and fangs at him, Aiden was on high alert. A creature attacked him, and he lunged at it, but before it could reach him, a dagger stabbed its neck from behind, and a sharp-clawed hand ripped out its spine, tossing it like garbage. Her bright red eyes met his, her face cast with a dark looming shadow, her scarlet red hair framing her face, blowing like wildfire in the wind. She looked like the angel of death, no surprise Malcolm called her The Reaper. Her rhythm, her tempo smooth as she effortlessly cut through the creatures one by one. She came to a halt when the nearby creatures lay motionless on the ground. She turned to him and said hurriedly
"Spread this through the link, I want everyone to hear this." His beast nodded and she started saying again
"Rip out their spinal cord, it would buy us enough time to burn them before they rise again."
She said calmly, and his beast looked at her, puzzled.
"They are undeads!" A few creatures attacked her, in one hand she fought, but her mind was active with what she was going to tell. She started speaking again.
"Don't hold back brave warriors, they might have been your brother, your mate, family, a dear friend, someone you grew up with, someone you just know but trust me, pulling your punches will just get you killed. They don't know who you are, they are not the same people you know. They are nothing but the shells of who they were. You have no idea in what hell they are stuck in. So do them a favor if not yourself, free them from this hell. Let them free, let them meet the moon."
That was the last thing she said before sprinting towards Malcolm. He watched her retreating as he kept fighting. His eyes swept over the battleground and found the warriors fighting with a newfound purpose to free their loved ones. He could see the grief and pain in their faces, he even saw tears streaming down some of their eyes. How cruel could fate be to put brother against brother in such a barbaric lethal fight? Where only one could ultimately win in the end.
Her path was clear this time, and she locked her gaze on Malcolm, her eyes glowing bright red. Malcolm didn't seem to be bothered, he stood his ground with an expressionless face. Johan took a step in front of him and removed his cloak, allowing it to fall to the ground. He slowly drew a long sword from his belt, the blade hissing as it was drawn from the sheath. Ariel pounced on him. He dipped and weaved as he approached her, then slashed downwards with the sword. Ariel parried with her dagger and the blade clashed against the metal with a shriek that sent sparks flying into the air. The dagger slipped from her hand and fell to the ground. He was quick and slashed an uppercut at her, attempting to catch her from stem to stern. She sidestepped to the right just enough and the blade passed a hairs breath from her face. Quickly, before he could respond with a follow-up, she swiftly punched him in the solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him, and stunning him for a brief moment. He was still open for more attacks though and she was not done. The quick blow had opened him up for another attack and she obliged him, putting a simple sidekick into the swordsman's stomach, doubling him over. She followed that up with a quick rising uppercut.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, she jumped, back-flipped in the air, and pushed off towards him. Her front flipped towards him as a result of the maneuver, and just before she reached the swordsman, she flattened her body out, feet first. Instead of colliding with her opponent, she chose to wrap her feet around Johan's neck. The maneuver caught him off guard just as he was regaining his composure.
She used her momentum in a creative, instead of piling into her opponent; instead, she jerked to the right and swung around him. Then, when she was directly behind her opponent, she curled her legs into her body and angled her body towards the ground, changing the direction of her fall, putting the weight of her jump into a powerful throw. He was pulled off his feet violently and was thrown across the floor. He skidded and tumbled along the ground, uncontrolled. He was stopped by a huge tree about eleven feet from Ariel. A groan escaped his lips as the pain from the attack started setting in. He looked up and his eyes opened with surprise.
