"Shit, it's boiling out here." Summer whined.
"Stop complaining Winter." I said.
She looked at me and glared. "Is that really the best nickname you could come up with?"
I put on a thinking face. "Umm, yeah I think so."
Summer rolled her eyes. We were at this really nice park taking pictures. Considering it was 95 degrees outside the park was fairly empty.
As I was looking through my camera at pictures Summer came and laid her head on my shoulder.
"You just said it's hot," I looked over at her, "why are you on me."
"Why are you on me." She mocked.
I chuckled shaking my head. "Real mature." I said as I kept scrolling through the pictures.
She hummed. "I love this picture." She pointed to a picture of her sitting in front of a wrinkled blanket.
"Yeah this is nice but, I like the one of you in front of the flowers." I said scrolling to the picture.
She nodded. "Yeah that is nice."
She moved her head as I laid back on the grass. She then laid her head on my stomach.
She started to giggle. "Your stomach sounds like a whale." She turned her head and looked at me.
"Oh, you didn't know," I raised a brow, "I'm pregnant, that's just my baby moving around."
She laughed. "Ohhh, who's the babies daddy?" She asked.
"Quincy duh," I rolled my eyes, "I stay loyal to my man."
She laughed again shaking her head.
"Don't get me wrong though, Vanessa is definitely my side girl." I said.
Summer's eyes widened. "I'm telling."
"Snitches get stitches." I warned.
Summer nodded pulling her phone out. "No need to get hostile."

I sighed and looked up at the tree we were under. Tomorrow's really the big event. Am I excited? Sure, I think.
I guess the real question is. Am I happy? Of course I am.
I have to be.
I looked over at my camera and bit my lip.
"You okay?" I heard Summer whisper.
I quickly looked at her to see her already looking at me. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be."
She shrugged. "You look," she paused, "conflicted?" She said in a questioning tone.
I nodded. "I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep this baby a secret or not." I smiled.
She just shook her head and sat up. "I haven't known you long but, I pick up on things quickly," she looked down at me and bit her lip, "whenever something's wrong with you and somebody tries to get you to talk about it, you tend to try and deflect the question by cracking a joke."
I looked away, looks like my wall is starting to crack.
"Talk to me," she whispered, "I let that sad look in your eyes go too many times."
I sighed and sat up. "Yeah your right, I do try and deflect talking about my feelings by cracking jokes."
She shook her head. "But why?"
"The only people that can see through me are people I care about," I said, "and if I make a joke and that person I care about, like you, laughs I feel better and just forget about all the stuff going on in my head."
She smiled. "I'm happy I'm someone that makes you feel better but, keeping all your emotions inside won't do anything but hurt you in the end."
I nodded. "But if you would've just laughed I'd feel better."

"For a couple of hours, but then what?" She asked.
"Then I." I paused as my phone started to ring.
I heard Summer sigh as I picked up the phone.
"Hello." I said.
"Y/n hey listen don't get mad." I heard from the other end of the phone.
"Quincy, what the hell did you do?" I asked.
"Um, aren't you picking up Travis this weekend?" He asked. "And we may or may not have a puppy now." He whispered.
"Yeah I'm picking him up later- Wait what!?" I yelled and Summer jumped. "You bought a dog?"
Summer's eyes widened and she smiled.
"No, like I said it's a puppy," he said, "just come home." He hung up before I could reply.
"Do you have a dog now?" Summer asked excitedly.
I sighed. "Apparently so," I stood, "wanna meet it?"
"Do I?" She jumped up and started to gather everything "let's go."
-
"I love him so much." Summer cooed laying on the floor with Quincy and the puppy.
"I know right he's fucking adorable." Quincy said smiling as the puppy slept.
"What are you going to name him?" She asked.
Quincy looked up at me as I stood over them. "Maybe mommy can come up with the name." He said.
"You really trying to suck up to me right now?" I crossed my arms and looked at the puppy who shuffled and slowly opened his eyes.
Awww fuck.
I shook my head and bent down rubbing his head. "Don't deny Y/n you love him." Summer said.
"How are we going to afford to keep him Quincy?" I asked.
"Don't ask dumb questions Y/n you know I have more than enough money." Quincy said sitting up.
I sighed. "Yeah, I tried to trick you." I sat on the floor and stared at the blue-eyed dog.
"Can we keep him?" Summer asked.
I looked at her. "You don't even live here."
"And?" She asked. "I can visit," she gasped and hit Quincy's shoulder, "I can be the godmother."
Quincy's eyes widened. "Oh my God yes."
He's so fucking gay. "Fine." I whispered.
Quincy and Summer looked at me. "What?" They both said.
"Fine we can keep him, but I get to name him." I said.
Quincy jumped on my and hugged me. "Yesss, what's his name."
I pushed him off me and picked up the dog. Then a lightbulb went off in my head. "Dog." I said.
"What?" Summer said.
"Dog is his name." I said.
"The fuck is a dog." Quincy asked.
"D-O-G." I spelled, "that's how you spell dog and he's a dog so his name is D-O-G." I said slowly.
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." Quincy said.
"You said I could name him so that's his name." I said rubbing Dog.
Quincy shook his head and went to talk but Summer covered his mouth. "Great idea Y/n." She said.
I smiled and stood with Dog in my arms. "Good, let's show you my room Dog." I said walking away.
"Now you know damn well that name sucks." I heard Quincy say.
"I know but her petty ass might not let us keep the dog if we have a problem with the name." Summer said.
Damn right.
"That dogs gonna grow up to hate you Y/n." Quincy yelled.
"Yeah yeah." I said and closed my bedroom door.
