《The Bodyguard》| chapter - 26 |

As soon as a young man is on the throne, people around him want him to get married and produce an heir to the throne. I mean, he just got on that throne, he needs to adjust without adding other responsibilities on him like a wife and a kid.
So Elias was being hounded by his newly appointed, more talented ministers to get married.
But this was not a big issues, the big issues were the collaboration project of Kirk and Matthews. And I was so waiting for it, I was terribly missing my father and I wanted to see him. I wanted that vermin of a human to let me travel back in time and meet my father.
I carefully observed Elias who was lying next to me peacefully sleeping. My fingers traced his nose softly and then his jawline. He was over working himself since he became a King. Putting almost everything in place, he even introduced or should I say re-introduced his mother shocking everyone.
"You are torturing me, Alisha." He mumbled and my hand shot back in surprise.
"Didn't mean to disturb you."
" I meant with all the feather light touches and not kissing me." He said looking back at me.
"God, I love you a lot, Prince," I said and kissed him complying with his wishes.
And he kissed me back pulling me impossibly closer as his hands traced the curve of my waist leaving a trail of hot fire.
His lips found his way to my collarbone and down below until the end of my neckline. I gasped in surprise and pleasure as his fingers made contact with the bare skin of my back. I arched back to allow his lips work its magic even more.
A sudden knock on the door made him groan in agitation. My heart, on the other hand, was beating fast enough to beat a cheetah.
We created a distance as I tied my bodyguard mask back still trying to control raging hormones.
"Your blush is too prominent bodyguard." And the Prince winked at me.
As he opened the door Agnes walked in... or as the attire define it, was it Mel?
"Oh thank God you two are safe." She gushed and pulled Elias for a hug who looked petrified at this sudden gesture.
And she looked at me with a soft smile which soon transformed into a smirk.
"What were you two doing?" Her tone implied more than enough.
"Why are you here?" I tried to change the topic and succeeded as worry crossed her face.
"Matthew is here, I tricked him to come here." And she avoided eye contact.
You don't trick a powerful God of magic unless you are his wife.
"You seduced him, didn't you Mel?" Now she turned red and changed the topic.

"He did something scandalous." She said and this was not surprising anymore.
"How bad?" I ask my mind prepared for the worst.
"He attacking people in form of Elias," I swear the ground shifted underneath me because for a second I lost balance.
"Alisha." Both Mel and Elias shouted.
Tears welled in my eyes and looked up at Elias,"What do we do?"
"Only he is powerful to assume another human's form even if for just few times." Mel explained.
He wanted to be a King, I wanted him to be one. But such tarnishing of reputation can never be repaired. People will hate him now.
"Mel, make people forget. Like you told people when I took away Elias." I clutched her sleeves in panic looking for a solution.
"Can't do that. Making a whole kingdom forget will take a toll. Last time Agnes had to give up some powers to do that. Using magic for our own good is prohibited."
"But you are a goddess." I was freaking out.
"Calm down Alisha." Elias put his around my waist and pulled me in for a hug.
I controlled the sobs building in my chest.
"You could travel time and do a lot of bullshit stuff for your son, why not this?" My panic was not finished yet.
"That I did with a cost of sacrificing three generations of my soul."
"So sacrifice one now."
"I can't. Hades will not allow any more such exchange."
"I will kill that son of a bitch and feed his pieces to the wolves," I growled in anger.
Matthews or whatever his godly name was needed a lesson in mannerisms.
"What the hell is his bitch doing?" I asked and Elias looked befuddled.
"I meant Kirk."
"He is acting as King's noblemen and pretending to help people under king's order."
That sly old man.
"Why is he doing this now?"
"Well, he was afraid that you two will get married and another Elias will be born. He will have more competition." My embarrassment took over my anger for a moment.
"Can we kill him?" Elias finally asked a sensible question.
"In simple words, no. He is a god and he has generations of himself, too many doppelgangers."
"Do we all have doppelgangers?" I asked genuinely curious.
"No, just a particular bloodline." She gave me a suggestive look.
So no doppelganger for me then.
"Then what is the solution?" Elias asked looking pale and worried.
"for now you will be called for a trial and an execution."
Fate was shitting with me right now.
"You are Hecate, aren't you?" I asked.
"She is what?" Elias asked and I thought he might not know about all goddess deal.

"Hecate." I clarified but before I could explain he said, "Goddess of Magic?"
So he does know, great.
"Are you even a little bit useful?" At my words, anger flashed in her eyes.
"He is lot more powerful than I am child." She reprimanded me but right then I didn't give a damn.
He won't die with bullets and he won't die even with help of Hecate.
"He could be killed though, just these two in our time phase, Kirk and Matthew," Mel mumbled hoping that we won't listen.
"How?" I almost yelled at her.
"If Elias uses the darkest of magic even Matthew wouldn't dare to use."
I understood her underlying meaning, that meant Elias will have to pay the price.
Before Elias could ask, Norman walked in with a body in his hand.
It was Prince Norman who walked, the styling of hair told them apart.
"He killed his own son, how could he?" And as he said those words, the shock registered.
The body in his hands were that of Norman two, Matthews just punished his son for reuniting me and Elias.
***
While we still mourned Norman, Kirk was busy spreading terror in the kingdom. There was a rebellion on rising asking for old King to be released. Norman who was left alive lived with us now, too disgusted with his father and his plans.
And even after all this happening, I asked out Elias for a date. This surprised him and it was a little selfish of me but then again I was never selfless.
He agreed to it. Of course, I didn't tell him it was my birthday.
It was late in the evening when the sun was covered in an orange hue ready to shift places with the moon. I sat down outside the magic cave of the Prince, our hiding spot and waited for him patiently.
After a few minutes, the crunching of dried leaves under footsteps alerted me to his presence.
"You are not good with stealth Prince," I commented and that cause him to smile.
"I wanted you to know if I didn't then you would never realise till I am next to you." He walks down the rocky path and sits next to me.
"I miss seeing you in feminine clothes Alisha." He observed my black pants and a white button-down shirt.
My oversized bodyguard kaftan was missing right now.
"I have to be in comfortable clothes to protect you Highness," I smirked in his direction.
"Why are we here Alisha?" He asked not sure why I asked for date when doomsday was looming over us.
"So that I can tell you everything, the whole story," I said with a sigh.
He nodded as a sign of encouragement and I started from the beginning some of which he already knew while some he didn't. I explained him about his blood line, about magic, about everything.
"I know most of it, Alisha, Agnes told me."
"Well, I wasted half our date here and now you tell me." I cast him a bored look.
But he started laughing loudly.
"Are you not upset?" I ask about everything.
He thought for a moment, "You being here makes up for everything."
He stated it simply yet a layer of warmth cascaded through my body. He was forgiving, he was wise, he was kind. He was born to be a ruler. Frankly, If I had the amount of power he had I would be messed up but he was modest. I stand up and get down on my knees in front of the Prince.
He was startled but before he could say a word. It was the adrenaline of sudden courage as I inhaled and pulled out a ring.
"What is all this Alisha?" He was amused and a little bit exasperated.
"Trying to tie you to me, Prince," I said putting the simple silver ring on his hand.
It was one my father kept in hiding after mom left. It was precious piece of jewellery and there was no one better than him to own it.
"I should have done this." He gave me an adorable pout which made me kiss him.
"You know I am impulsive to a fault." I defended my brash actions.
"And I am grateful for that." He sighed looking at me with eyes filled with love.
"Why do you I have to love you so much, Prince," I said with a small smile admiring him from up close.
And just on the cue, loud footsteps alerted us for more people.
"Kiss me please," I begged him and shock was clear in his eyes,
"Alisha." His whisper was filled with question, dread and disappointment.
I can take all that.
"That is the only way you become who you are born to be," I said and this time after all that holding up, tears flow down my eyes.
Within seconds we are surrounded.
Norman is there with the guards, he nods at me slightly and looked miserable as he does what we planned.
"She is the one with magic, that enchanted the Prince,"Norman called out loud and clear.
I give a small apologetic smile to Prince as the situation registers in his head.
I was taking all the blame on his behalf just like his mother, Queen did all those years.
As the guards drag me away, Prince yells out in panic and hysteria.
"Fool. Poor Prince, still under my spell." I said with as much evilness I could muster proving my crime to the gathered soldiers and ministers.
