As time went by...

Feng Jiu time to deliver her daughter came as predicted by her father. Zhe Yan and Dong Hua attended her delivery. Feng Jiu has been in labor for hours; she was consumed.

"Xiao Jiu darling, you got this. We're here to help you." Zhe Yan encouraged her.

Feng Jiu was struggling to give birth. She was changing positions in her bed to be more comfortable. Dong Hua was at her side serving her. "Jiu'er maybe if you take a bath it will help you give birth. It worked with Gun Gun." Dong Hua suggested.

"Maybe you are right Dong Hua, Gun Gun was born underwater. Maybe this little one will like the water element too." Zhe Yan said.

"I will try anything at this point." Feng Jiu exhaustively said.

"The baby is in position and you're fully dilated. I can give you a special tea to help you with the contractions." Zhe Yan offered.

"Where is Gun Gun?" Feng Jiu asked Dong Hua.

"Gun Gun is with your mother little fox. She is taking care of him while we are here with you. He still too young to see you like this."

"But he wants to welcome his little sister Dong Hua."

"We'll bring him over once she's here. I will prepare the bath chambers for you, hang tight my love, I'll be right back." Dong Hua tenderly caressed her face.

"Okay. Qingyan sweetheart, we are waiting for your arrival, be good and come out safely." Feng Jiu padded her belly.

Minutes later Zhe Yan came with the special tea. "Here Xiao Jiu, drink this. It will speed up the delivery."

"Thank you fùqīn" Feng Jiu drank the tea; she was weak at this point and was pale.

"Kittling, don't fall asleep. The tea will make the contractions stronger."

"I just want to rest a bit fùqīn. Let me close my eyes for a little while until the tea takes effect." Feng Jiu laid down. Zhe Yan grabbed her hand to check on her pulse.

"How is she?" Dong Hua worriedly asked him.

"Xiao Jiu is strong; they are both okay. Take her to the bath chamber, maybe when the contractions get stronger, the baby quickly will work her way thru the birth canal."

The Bai family was patiently waiting at the main terrace. Bai Rui was getting nervous. Zhong Lin was making sure that everyone was comfortable.

"This baby is going to give our family so many blessings. I can feel it." Bai Rui said.

"Stop pacing around wife, you are making us all nervous. I'm sure Xiao Jiu will do fine. She is strong and capable." Bai Zhi said.

"Zhe Yan and Dijun are with her, everything will be okay." Bai Zhen said.

"Our lassie is young and strong; I know that she'll do fine. This little girl will surely inherit her mischievous character. I remember that her mother had a hard labor too before having her." Bai Qian said.

Dong Hua carried his beloved into the bath chamber, he got inside the water with her. He was gradually pulsing some of his essence to revitalize her. "My brave sweet little fox, I'm here with you." Dong Hua tenderly was massaging her back. An hour later, her contractions got stronger, she felt a lot of pressure. "Fùqīn the baby is coming."

"Dong Hua let me hold her while you attend the delivery. All right sweetheart, start pushing with all your might. Dong Hua you know what to do." Zhe Yan got behind Feng Jiu to hold her weight and bring her support. Feng Jiu pushed hard; she concentrated her strength to the lower part of her body. "Kittling you are doing great. Big breaths in and out." Zhe Yan instructed her.

Minutes later... "Jiu'er my love I can see her little head coming out, one more push and it will be over little fox."

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Feng Jiu screamed. Her screams were heard all over Tai Chen.

"Is mother okay grandma?" Gun Gun asked

"She is working hard to bring your sister; she will be okay. Do not worry Xiao Gun Gun your lord father is with her. Soon your baby sister will be born."

Dong Hua saw that the head was out, he carefully grabbed her and pulled her out from Feng Jiu body; he carefully cut the umbilical cord.

A beautiful baby girl was born, with dark hair and fine porcelain skin. She was wriggling all around, but she wasn't crying. She opened her eyes and looked right at Dong Hua with her little brown enchanting eyes with long eyelashes. It was so surreal and wonderful. When Dong Hua laid eyes on her, he was breathless, almost heartache-type feeling that he realized all in a flash the meaning of pure love. His mind had an amazing epiphany, combined with happy-tears and the feeling that he'll rip someone to shreds if someone ever try to hurt her. Dong Hua cleaned her up and wrapped her in a lavender blanket. He smelled her scent a mix of peach blossom, lavender and wisteria flowers, a soft exquisite scent.

"My baby girl Qingyan Feng. Welcome home sweetheart. Father loves you so much." Dong Hua kissed her little forehead. The little one grabbed a chunk of his silvery mane Dong Hua chuckled. "You are going to be naughty as your mother I see."

A kaleidoscope of magical red butterflies swarmed the sky along with a red flamed spirit phoenix flying around Nine Heavens. Ye Hua noticed the enchanting signs in the sky. "Beautiful"

"It's time to meet your mother baby girl." Dong Hua placed little on Feng Jiu's chest and she began to cooed in her arms. "She is so beautiful" Feng Jiu said mesmerized at her daughter.

"She looks just like you when you were born Xiao Jiu. She's perfect." Zhe Yan expressed, his eyes had unshed tears. "I'm blessed to see my lineage forming again. Thank you darling." Zhe Yan kissed Feng Jiu's head.

"Don't forget me father-in-law." Dong Hua teasingly said.

"You want me to kiss you too?" Zhe Yan said puckering his lips to him. Dong Hua rolled up his eyes.

"Your family is waiting to meet our daughter Jiu'er, I will help you settle down first." Dong Hua using his powers placed Feng Jiu on the bed and healed her. Then he magically dressed them up. He also changed himself to be presentable.

"What about me?" Zhe Yan asked.

"You can change your own, old bird." Dong Hua stoically said. "I will get Gun Gun to come and meet his sister before your family comes in." Gun Gun was overjoyed to hold his sister.

"Mama she is so tiny, look at her hairy head. She smells really good too. Xiao Qingyan, I'm your big brother Gun Gun. I will help mother and father to take care of you. Don't worry I will share with you what our lord father had taught me so far. You are going to like it here and wait until you go to grandfather's peach orchard home, you will love it there too. Our bizarre family is waiting to meet you. Don't worry, they are a bit crazy but they will love you so much. I will look after you when you start to walk and I will teach you to run fast. Our cousins can't beat me." Gun Gun giggled.

Dong Hua was content and pleased to have a family of his own. He sat next to Feng Jiu admiring her. "Little fox..."

"Hmm?" Feng Jiu turned her head to meet him.

"Thank you for this my love. You don't know how happy you have made me. Gifting me with two wonderful children that are part of us, of our love, a beautiful masterpiece."

"I love you husband, it is a dream come true for me to be with you like this, enjoying your company, sharing my life with you and seeing our children grow. Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. And having both is a blessing. It is me who is grateful that you chose me to be with you and have all of this."

"Our family is a circle of strength of love with every birth and every union the circle grows woven together by choice, strengthened together by love, tested by everything, and each uniquely ours." Dong Hua expressed.

"Ours." Feng Jiu said. She gave him one of her brightest and sweetest smiles that melted his heart.

"Xiao me me, I will also teach you how to ignore our parents when they act obnoxiously sweet in front of us. They just love each other too much." Gun Gun said to his little baby sister making them smirked at his comment.

The Bai family came over to meet the little princess. Everyone was in awe of her beauty. The Fox Empress held her to tell her future. "Xiao Qingyan Feng, you have your father regal lifeforce in you and your mother mischievousness character. This little one will go against all odds, just like their parents. So many obstacles are ahead of her, but she will overcome them all. She's truly a blessed one." Bai Rui looked straight at Zhe Yan. For some reason she perceived his connection to the baby girl; but she kept it under wraps.

"Is everything all right?" Bai Zhi asked her.

"Yes, everything is fine husband. Come let's began with the presentation banquet preparations."

Forty days later, her presentation banquet was held in Tai Chen Palace, which was a rare occasion since Dong Hua never ever held any celebrations over. Since that was the case, security was doubled. The palace was full of capacity for the whole seven days. Many deities came to bless the little princess and pay their respects to the almighty Dong Hua, the proudest father of the little beauty and at the same time, to get a glimpse of the most coveted courtyard at Nine Heavens due to Feng Jiu's exquisite designs.

Dong Hua being thick skin, didn't allowed no one to hold his precious daughter. Him and Gun Gun were guarding her like hawks. Nobody dared to approach them and asked permission to hold her. Gun Gun was having a blast imitating his fearless father expressionless face. He could clearly see why his dear old father was revered and dreaded. He felt proud to be his son. Feng Jiu on the other hand was appalled at their behavior but understood their stance to protect their little jewel. She knew her daughter have them whipped around her little fingers with her charms.

During the night, little Gun Gun always sneaked to her room and slept there to make sure she was okay. Dong Hua felt gratified that his son looked after his little sister. As time passed, little Qingyan Feng grew up to be overly attached to her father. She managed to sleep on his chest all the time. Creating ruckus in the marital chambers.

Her fist word that came out of her mouth was di die which touched Dong Hua's heart and disturbed his entire being completely. He had to go on seclusion for a week to meditate in order to regain to control his unbalanced emotions. Qingyan Feng was restless during that week because she greatly missed her father. Feng Jiu and Gun Gun were rattled trying to calm her down. Needless is to say that a storm was brewing outside Nine Heavens during that week due to her temper tantrums. Mo Yan and his Kun Lun disciples had to intervene to prevent a flood over the earthly realm! Mo Yan wondered what caused nature to be unsettling.

When Qingyan Feng learned how to walk, everyone in Tai Chen Palace was in high alert, since her first steps, she learned to run, thanks to her brother who taught her how. Gun Gun was overjoyed teaching his little sister all that he learned from his lord father. But Qingyan Feng having her mind of her own ended up in trouble most of the time due to her mischievous character. Feng Jiu felt delighted to see her daughter developing her independent and care free spirit but at the same time she had to be the disciplinarian parent while Dong Hua was spoiling her rotten.

One day, she walked her way thru to the white lion den. She went inside and saw a huge mass of white fur peacefully sleeping. Her cute brown eyes widen upon seeing an unknown form to her; but for some reason she didn't felt afraid so she approached the white lion and snuggled on his side making a nest on his fur and fall asleep. The white lion realized that an alien body was sleeping on his side, he opened his eyes to see a beautiful little girl sleeping on his fur. "Huh? What is she doing here? Better alert her parents." Weng Chan sent a missive to Dong Hua about her daughter being on his den. Dong Hua immediately appeared at his place.

"She is sleeping, I didn't want to disrupt her sleep."

Dong Hua deeply sighed; he knew how mischievous his daughter is growing up to be. "Place a strong barrier on the entrance, she is learning her way around the palace. She probably was exploring and saw this area that picked up her curious nature." Dong Hua responded.

"Your daughter is a cute little thing." The massive feline said.

Dong Hua looming deadly stare didn't scared Weng Chan at all. "Stay away from her for own good" Dong Hua advised him. He took his precious daughter in his arms and exited the den. Weng Chan chuckled and kept sleeping.

At the Fox Palace

Bai Rui was suspicious about her great granddaughter heredity. She kept thinking about many possibilities and outcomes. Bai Zhi noticed that his wife was bothered about something. He knew her well enough to see that she was distraught about whatever she was worrying about.

"Bai Rui, what is up with you lately? You haven't been yourself ever since Qingyan Feng birth. Tell me what is bothering you." Bai Zhi concernedly asked his wife.

"Bai Zhi did you noticed the spiritual manifestations when Qingyan was born?"

"I did so."

"Isn't it strange that more than a year has passed already and Qingyan Feng hasn't morphed to her baby fox form?" Bai Rui asked him.

"Now that you mention it, I find it strange too. I haven't seen Xiao Gun Gun morphed into his fox form either." Bai Zhi replied.

"We weren't present for Gun Gun birth. What puzzles me is the fact that a spiritual phoenix appeared in the sky when Qingyan was born. Could it be that being Dijun's children, their primal spirits took after his? But I'm not aware that Dijun primal spirit is a phoenix. Do you know?"

"No. I don't know Dijun primordial spirit. I don't think nobody does. Gun Gun and Qingyan Feng both were born in their human form, which is odd. Xiao Jiu was born in her human form instead of a fox form, that always intrigued me too." What are you trying to say Bai Rui?"

"I don't want to jump into conclusions but I want to confirm my suspicions. Let's make arrangements to spend time with our great grandchildren and monitor them close."

"Do you think Dijun will allow them to come for a few days? Qingyan Feng is still too young and for what I heard she is attached to Dijun like glue. Not to mention that he is overly protective of her."

"Hmm. We can invite Ah Li and Shǎn Liàng too, that way they will not get suspicious about our motives."

"I love your cunning mind wife; but I hope that whatever you are worrying about doesn't create a split in our family."

"Don't worry Bai Zhi, it doesn't matter what we discover, those children are precious to our family no matter what. I will make the preparations and we'll leave tomorrow to pick them up personally."

Back at Nine Heavens

Ye Hua and Bai Qian received a message from her parents to have the kids over their place.

"Qian Qian, your parents want to spend time with our children, but Ah Li is in the middle of his studies at this point. I don't want him to get distracted, his ascension trial is coming soon. I want him to be ready for it."

"This invitation is rather odd to me Ye Hua."

"How so?"

"I just have a gut feeling about it. I mean, my parents usually don't do things without a motive behind it." Bai Qian concluded.

"Maybe they missed our kids."

"Maybe... you might be right Ye Hua. I'm probably overthinking things."

"We should send them over... so we can have a mini retreat to ourselves." Ye Hua suggestively said.

"Ye Hua!!!" Bai Qian face flushed.

"Qian Qian I miss you, I'm willing to let the children go and clear my agenda for a few days just to be with you."

"You mean..." Ye Hua nodded his head and gave her his sexy sultry smile.

"A few days won't be a big deal." Bai Qian flushed face got closer to him.

"That is my gorgeous fox." And they passionately kissed.

Over at Tai Chen Palace

Zhong Lin delivered the invitation to Dong Hua study. "Dijun this invitation came from the Fox Palace." He placed it on Dong Hua's table, bowed and left him to it. Dong Hua stared at the envelope not rushing to open it. "Hmm this is strange..." he thought. At that exact moment Feng Jiu came into his study and saw him absentminded expressionless face. She called his name twice. "Husband!!! Are you okay?" Feng Jiu shouted to him.

"I'm fine Jiu'er." Dong Hua startled responded.

"What is this?" Feng Jiu grabbed the enveloped from his table.

"It just came from your grandparents." Dong Hua replied.

"What is it?"

"You can open it Jiu'er."

Feng Jiu opened the letter and read it to Dong Hua out loud. "Is an invitation to have our children over their place. What do you make of this Dijun?"

"Your loud family is always coming up with some ridiculous excuse for a celebration, but why invite our children only and not having the entire family over like they usually do?" Dong Hua suspiciously asked.

"Maybe they want to spend time with our children Dong Hua. Fùqīn and mǔqīn spend time with the kids often, maybe they want their alone time with them too. I don't see a problem with this." Feng Jiu told him.

"Gun Gun may like to go but Qingyan Feng is another story." Dong Hua said.

"Our darling daughter needs some distance from you Dong Hua, Qingyan needs to get accustomed with other members of our family too. You spoil her too much!" Feng Jiu complained.

"Is my little fox jealous of our daughter hmm?" Dong Hua teasingly asked her.

"Not jealous Dong Hua, but we both agreed not to get overly attached to our children, to precisely prevent this. Qingyan, have you whipped on her little paws already."

"She reminds me of you little fox when you were younger Jiu'er. She loves my scent just like you. Guess where I found her recently?"

"Where?"

"Sleeping over at your feline therapist den."

"Oh no..." Feng Jiu gasped.

"Yes. I asked him to place a strong barrier over his den to prevent her to enter as she pleases."

"He won't harm her Dong Hua."

"I know he won't but I cannot have Qingyan Feng roaming around him particularly."

"Are you afraid that our daughter will get attached to Weng Chan?"

"She made a nest on his fur and snuggled with him. Imagine how I felt when I saw that. She sleeps in my chest all the time. I asked a maid to give her a bath to get rid of his scent on her." Dong Hua cutely pouted.

"I smell jealousy coming from you husband. And you are guilty of encouraging this bad behavior in her." Feng Jiu admonished him.
