So, a little introduction to this feature:
You are welcome to steal a metaphor or two or point out any mistakes in my work, just please don't copy more than a sentence or so :) This is still my work.
Some of these pieces are very short, just 10 minute writing challenges. Some are more developed, written as assessments or mock exams. There are also a few poems and soliloquy's that I wrote in the course.
Since I am likely to be quarantined for months because of the virus, I will probably use this as something to do and add new pieces to the compilation.

Playing The Midas Game will make you rich in real life, and a superhero in the game, or at least that’s what Jason’s grandfather tells him. Jason doesn’t know how to tell the old man that he’s been scammed out of his life savings…until Jason is stunned by the realization that maybe there is something to the game, and it’s not a con after all. In real life, Jason starts as a struggling teacher in debt, while in The Midas Game he begins as a street bum in 1920’s New York City, with a gorilla mayor, Houdini, Rocky Marciano, speakeasies, bombshell redheads in tight skirts, and the Graf Zeppelin drifting overhead. With a watch to indicate his progress, Jason works his way up, fighting to earn wealth, loot, gorgeous women, and hero status in both the game and real life.

A school field trip gone wrong, two friends, Tommy and Antonio, come across an underground laboratory while exploring and sneaking into the caverns at night. After a bit of scuffle with another intruder, a girl named Maggie, the three activated a portal, which sucked them right in. When the trio got out, they found themselves trapped in another world, unlike their own. This strange new world contained much dangerous stuff that they have to be careful of, such as Dinosaurs, elemental hazards, different realms to explore, among other things. Tommy, Antonio, and Maggie must work together to try to stay alive. They must find a way out of there as soon as possible. The trio will need to survive the dangers and figure out who to trust in this new world, including each other.

In the world of Aesir, there lies magic and beasts, gods and heroes. A world amongst many. It is during an age where Humanity turns away from the Gods, turning from Faith to Science. From this viewpoint, magitech exists, miraculous inventions that make life easier than before. But the world is vast, and filled with myths. Legends point to a select few individuals, who throughout history are born from magic alone, and gifted with immense power. All are destined for tragedy, however, and to wreak chaos. With power surpassing that of the Gods and Dragons, it is they who have been behind nearly all the major calamities of the world; these are beings known as "Harbingers". In the slums of Harlup, Capital of Apollyn, a young girl is found in the ashes of a burnt building, and adopted by a homeless woman searching for something of value. Raised from the ground up, and evemtually finding her way to the Gran Sars, an organization of magicians dedicated to war magic, she will rise through the ranks with her partner, and eventually discover that she too, is destined for tragedy. Her path forced by the Gods, she must fight to save the ones she loves, and at the same time face her destiny, and surpass it. Because if she does not, the world will burn, and all she knows and loves will crumble to cinders and ashes.
